A Comprehensive Network: An Endless Adventure Begins as a Wanderer

There's nothing to hesitate about; Cheng Yi's current abilities are all geared towards specializing in shadow-related skills.

The Dragon Knights School is more like a group of knights-errant than wanderers. In fact, there is even a sub-school of knights-errant called the Dragon Beast Guardians.

In short, it's somewhat of a hodgepodge.

While bloodlust and slaughter are very effective, firstly, Cheng Yi already has no shortage of close-range and teleportation abilities, and secondly, it requires worshipping an evil god, which Cheng Yi cannot accept under any circumstances.

Moreover, devouring the darkness also greatly enhanced his survivability.

You have acquired the class skill: Devour Darkness.

A streak of black and red light entered Cheng Yi's body, the shadows connecting his body, spirit, and flesh, constantly rotating and replenishing.

With the completion of the Shadow side's survival capabilities, Cheng Yi carefully reviewed all the Shadow materials in his personal panel and backpack.

Then he took the Myriad Manifestations Forging Furnace out of his backpack.

The accumulation and sedimentation are almost complete, and it's time to use this Myriad Forms Casting Furnace.

Reshape the race and alter the foundation of innate talents.

In a fantasy or martial arts world, this forging furnace would be a powerful artifact capable of reshaping one's spiritual roots and defying fate.

However, from the perspective of the comprehensive network, this is more like a reset of skill points and an enhancement of abilities?

After obtaining the Myriad Formation Furnace, Cheng Yi naturally searched for information about similar equipment on the forum.

From scattered posts, it's clear that such items, while not unique or world-renowned, are certainly quite rare on the internet...

However, a few experienced players who have used similar items have shared their insights, suggesting that these items are best used during the apprentice stage, i.e., before level 10.

Once players reach level 10 (Transcendent), they will embark on their own unique path, and at that point, resetting their skill points and starting over will come at an extremely high cost.

Moreover, it's always better to change one's foundation as early as possible.

Now that Cheng Yi has obtained the main material for refining his talent—the Shadow Core—and has accumulated a good amount of various shadow-related materials and abilities, he should no longer hesitate.

However, he paused when he saw the "melting time is uncertain" message.

If the smelting time is too long, it could cause some trouble.

It wouldn't matter if someone came to a strange city alone, but Cheng Yi had lived in this old city since childhood and knew some neighbors.

It's summer vacation now, and if we don't see them for too long and there's no sign of them going out, it's still a potential problem.

Cheng Yi pondered for a while and then pulled out a set of keys.

He remembered that his parents lived in the countryside, in a remote old house...

-------------

Cheng Yi got off the bus and dragged off a suitcase to avoid attracting attention.

He was standing at the entrance of the village. The village was very quiet, as if nine out of ten houses were empty.

Cheng Yi circled the village, and in his perception, the few houses with any signs of human habitation all emitted weak life force.

This is also the current situation in some northern villages: the villages are devoid of young and middle-aged people, only the elderly remain...

Although this isn't a good sign, it's undoubtedly advantageous for Cheng Yi at the moment...

After walking around for a while, Cheng Yi climbed the barren mountain behind the village.

This place is quite far from the village center. Although it belongs to the same village, it's more like a place that's affiliated with another village.

Halfway up the mountain is the Cheng family's old house.

Cheng Yi's father's branch was the last of the Cheng family's descendants, and since the incident, the old house had been neglected.

Cheng Yi took out the key and opened the door. It was already close to dusk, and dust had accumulated in the courtyard and inside the house.

He flipped his hand and took out a medal. A magical light flashed, and a semi-transparent figure emerged from the void, automatically cleaning the house.

Invisible servants are indeed a perfect fit for this kind of job.

Before long, it got dark. The house had been tidied up to be barely habitable.

Cheng Yi didn't need to light a lamp. He closed the doors and windows, sat cross-legged on the bed, and took out the Myriad Manifestations Forging Furnace.

At this moment, all was quiet except for a few distant barks of dogs, faintly heard from the other side of the mountain.

Everything is ready, and all things begin to unfold.

With a firm resolve, Cheng Yi activated the casting furnace in his hand.

[Network notification: This smelting process is irreversible. Please choose carefully!]

Cheng Yi took a deep breath.

He had already made his choice before the smelting even began.

He intends to use all abilities and external forces related to shadows to forge the foundation of his talent.

First, there are the professional skills granted by the Wandering specialization.

The following items were obtained: [Shadow Binding Ritual], [Eye of the Night], [Ultimate Stealth], and the newly acquired [Devour Darkness].

Then there's the story skill, [Eye of the Fallen].

The general skills include [Aura Concealment], [Invisible Scales], and the [Shadow Spell Transmutation] of the Shadow Spell.

Next is the core ability in this talent refinement, which Cheng Yi had almost forgotten before, but was also his original talent: [Shadow Affinity].

Next up are the equipment and shadow materials.

Cheng Yi did not hesitate. Equipment is ultimately just external; one's own abilities are what truly matter.

Dark Scale Armor, Shadow Spirit Cloak, and Shadow Step were all absorbed into the cauldron by the dim golden light.

He then took out Shadow Seeker Coins, Shadow Servant Masks, and numerous auxiliary shadow materials from his backpack.

And that most important one, the core of the Shadow Realm.

With the placement of the core of the Shadow Realm, the previously turbulent interior of the cauldron instantly became unified and harmonious.

Finally, Cheng Yi closed his eyes and checked the last skill.

[The Hand That Peels Away].

This was a choice he made after careful consideration.

The drop rate of the skill crystals from the Peeling Hand is unstable and low, and there are more or less restrictions.

Cheng Yi could originally earn a stable amount of Disaster Coins by selling Skill Crystals on the trading platform, but with the removal of the platform, this path has also been blocked.

However, the ability of the Peeling Hand to extract the essence of the enemy and transform it into skill crystals is ultimately extraordinary, so Cheng Yi chose to add it to this fusion.

With the addition of the final ingredient and Cheng Yi's confirmation, the Myriad Manifestations Forging Furnace trembled and entered Cheng Yi's body.

Cheng Yi could feel the small cauldron spinning and melting inside his body, eventually flowing into his limbs and bones, transforming his physical body and reshaping his spirit.

A wave of drowsiness, seemingly emanating from the depths of his soul, enveloped him, forcing him to close his eyes.

In his final moments before falling into a deep sleep, Cheng Yi seemed to see himself sinking into a dark and empty world...

From an outsider's perspective, golden light surged from Cheng Yi's body, but it was quickly tinged with a dark shadow.

These dark lights enveloped Cheng Yi tightly, transforming into an invisible giant cocoon, gradually sinking into the deep shadows...
