Two Realms: Hunters and Pirates

Chapter 30 Interview × Final × Schedule

The interviews are conducted in the order of the numbers on the number plates.

The first one called was the Dongba with the lowest number on his number plate.

A moment later, Hisoka was the second to be called.

"So, Leorio, Kurapika, and Killua, your hunting targets are the Amori brothers?"

While waiting, Zain and the others rested and chatted casually.

While chatting about their hunting targets, Zane looked at Leorio and the other two with surprise.

"Yes, it's such a coincidence, but it's also good that way, because the three of us were able to get our number plates so quickly," Leorio exclaimed.

He felt very lucky in this fourth test.

Because the three Amory brothers acted together.

This led to him encountering Kurapika and Killua during his pursuit, and the three of them ended up working together and easily taking down the Amori brothers.

Zain nodded slightly.

Sure enough, things changed.

Of course, there are also things that haven't changed.

"Gon, you're really unlucky to have drawn Hisoka." Zane rubbed Gon's head.

He frowned.

The hedgehog-like head feels a bit prickly to the touch.

With a swift movement, Zane's hand slipped and landed quietly on Killua's head on the other side.

His furrowed brows immediately relaxed.

It definitely feels more comfortable to touch this side of the head.

"Hey, what are you doing!"

Killua, whose head was being rubbed, hurriedly shook his head to try to get away, but no matter how he shook it, Zane's palm seemed to be stuck to his head.

This situation left Killua with nothing to do but complain and let Zane pet him, looking utterly hopeless.

"It was really unlucky, but this experience taught me a lot, and I'll return this number plate to Hisoka sooner or later." Gon took a deep breath, touched the number 44 plate hidden in his breast pocket, and said solemnly.

"Then you'd better work harder. In my judgment, Hisoka's strength should be above this guy's." Killua raised his thumb and pointed at Zane, who was petting him.

The little white cat is quite vengeful.

Zane snorted and immediately used both hands to give the other's white hair a good rub.

He stopped when Killua was about to explode with anger, satisfied.

.........

After a long wait, Zane's number was finally called.

Upon reaching the second floor, Zain entered the reception room.

"Sit down!" Netero, holding a notebook in his left hand and a pen in his right, gestured for Zane to sit opposite him.

Zain walked over and casually sat down on the cushion.

"Alright, now I need to ask a few simple questions. First, why do you want to become a hunter?" Netero looked up at Zane and asked.

Zain smiled and said, "Because it's convenient. On the one hand, it gives me the opportunity to learn Nen, and on the other hand, it makes it easy to travel to different places."

"Hmm... My second question is, besides you, which of the remaining eight candidates are you most concerned about?" Netero asked again.

"Leorio, number 376. He came with me to participate in the Hunter Exam and helped me before," Zane said without much hesitation.

"I see!" Netero nodded slightly, then continued, "One last question: of the eight, which examinee do you least want to face right now?"

"If this question involves the final test later, then my answer is still No. 376, and the reason is self-evident. But if it does not involve the test, it should be No. 44 Hisoka and No. 301 Jitaraku."

To be honest, while I wouldn't be afraid to fight these two, I'm also well aware that their strength is likely above mine. If it were a true life-or-death battle, I think I'd most likely die!

Of course, it's also difficult for the other party to emerge unscathed.

Zain spoke casually about matters concerning his life and death.

"You're quite honest. Alright, that's enough for now. You can go now." Netero smiled with interest.

Zain nodded slightly, then got up and left the reception room.

.........

The series of interviews ended before we knew it.

Next comes the waiting and rest.

It seemed to be in preparation for the final test.

The airship took three full days to reach the final test location.

It is a rather luxurious manor-style hotel.

"Dear test takers, have you had a good rest?

This is a hotel operated by the review committee. You are free to use its facilities until the end of this hunter test.

In the very spacious hall, everyone was gathered, including the examinees Zane and others, as well as the examiners led by Netero.

Looking at the candidates, including Zane, Netero stroked his beard and, after a brief greeting, immediately began to announce the questions for the final test.

Nearby, association members dressed in suits pushed over a whiteboard covered with a cloth.

"The final test will require the nine of you here to participate in a one-on-one elimination tournament!"

After saying that, Netero lifted the cloth covering the whiteboard, revealing its true form.

The path to advancement is drawn upwards.

"Does this mean only the last person standing gets a hunter's license?"

The promotion path on the whiteboard surprised Leorio.

"No, that's not it!"

Netero smiled and raised his index finger, saying, "Winning just one game will qualify you."

"ah?!"

"Just one victory?"

"The combination for this competition is..."

Leorio and the other people who were originally nervous were all stunned.

"The winner will advance directly to the next round, while the loser will be promoted until only one person remains."

In other words, the highest position on this schedule signifies failure! Netero was very satisfied with the candidates' reactions.

Then he tore off the paper strips pasted on the bottom row of the schedule, revealing the pre-arranged match list.

The photos of the nine candidates were pasted on each line corresponding to the competition schedule, and they were also divided into two groups, A and B.

From left to right.

The roster for Group A consists of Zane, Gon, Hanzo, Killua, and Jitaraku.

The roster for Group B consists of Tonpa, Kurapika, Hisoka, and Leorio.

Furthermore, the progression path on the schedule is not equal.

Although everyone is supposed to play at least twice, some get as many as five times.

"Wait, why do Zane and Gon get five chances?"

Killua couldn't help but step forward and ask.

He ranked fourth in Group A and only had three matches available.

Although he wouldn't mind giving Xiao Jie two more chances, he was undoubtedly very dissatisfied with this unfair treatment.

Killua's words elicited nods of agreement from the others.

Unfair treatment is definitely unpleasant.

"Hehehe... I knew you guys would ask that. This battle combination was decided based on your performance in the previous tests and your response methods."

"Simply put, the better someone performs in the first few tests, the more opportunities I'll give them," Netero said with a smile.
