Chapter 30 Instant Kill (Please continue reading)

On the arena, Davos said smugly, "Richard, ten days ago, you joined veteran Hans's team to complete the 'Cleanse the Crystal Web Spiders' mission. I'm skilled with a crossbow! Haha, see? This heavy armor and tower shield of mine were custom-made for you!"

Richard's eyes narrowed instantly. It seemed he had underestimated his opponent and had not thought things through.

The other party has an extraordinary background and the support of the Third Prince, so he must have powerful connections. It's just unknown which member of Hans's team revealed his expertise in archery to Davos.

The team consisted of five people when clearing the crystal web spiders, but Nicklo was dead, leaving only four. Oh, and during my testing, the bald man also knew I was good with crossbows, so that made it five people.

That's probably all that's known. However, we can't rule out the possibility that they have the ability to obtain their own information from the school's archives.

Just as Richard was lost in thought, the audience below erupted into a commotion, like boiling water.

"Richard is probably in danger. Davos was clearly prepared. He's already mobilized his connections and, knowing Richard is good at shooting, he specially wore a thick full-body heavy armor and is carrying a tower shield! Sigh," a boy sighed.

"Richard is doomed to lose, but according to Davos, Richard must be quite capable to be invited to a mission by the seniors, so he shouldn't lose so quickly!" A freckled girl felt a little sorry for Richard, who was quite handsome.

"It all depends on how Richard handles it. If Richard is fast enough and Davos, in his heavy armor, can't catch up, then this battle might be worth watching. Otherwise, it'll definitely be one-sided and not very interesting," a tall, thin boy next to him replied.

On the ring, Richard slowly said, "Davos, you've investigated me quite thoroughly. How about we increase the stakes before we start?"

"Hahaha, interesting! Richard, I've realized I'm starting to like you. Add as much as you want, I'll take it!" Davos laughed as if he had discovered something amusing when he heard what Richard said.

"How about adding twenty more, making it forty magic stones in total?"

"That's too little, that's no fun!" Davos shook his head. "At least fifty magic stones!"

"No problem, fifty dollars it is!" Richard readily agreed, even though he didn't have a single magic stone right now, it didn't stop him from placing a bet.

The third-level wizard apprentice who was acting as the referee immediately drafted a contract agreement, which Richard and Davos signed and pressed their fingerprints on.

The audience immediately wondered if Richard had lost his mind!

"Hey, do you guys think Richard has something wrong with his head?" A freshman pointed to his head and asked the person next to him with a questioning look.

"I really don't understand. Does he really think he can win? How can he win? This short bow probably can't even break through Davos's defense!" The person next to him also shook his head, indicating that he didn't understand.

"Richard's tactic might be to use a bow and arrow to attack Davos from a distance, exhaust his stamina, and then figure out a way to win!" A student next to him pondered for a long time and came up with the only tactic he thought was feasible.

The two stood still once more; the final battle was about to begin.

Richard nocked an arrow, drew his bow, and aimed at Davos. Davos immediately raised his shield in front of him. The shield was so huge that it completely covered the tall Davos, leaving him no chance to shoot.

"Richard, don't say I didn't give you a chance. Come on! Let you shoot me three arrows first, haha!" Davos said triumphantly from behind the huge tower shield.

"Is that so? I advise you to give it your all!" Richard said coldly.

"Do you really think that toy in your hand can penetrate my defenses? Hahaha!" Davos laughed even more smugly.

"No, what I mean is, you're not worth my bow!" Richard said with a slight smirk.

In an instant, he threw down his bow and arrows and ran rapidly toward Davos, his knight's longsword appearing in his right hand in the blink of an eye.

The audience below the stage was immediately stunned.

"What! Doesn't Richard know that Davos is a swordsmanship genius? Is he courting death?"

"Could Richard be a swordsmanship genius as well?"

"Discarding the bow? Going to fight Davos head-on with swords? That's a baffling move! I don't understand!"

"Could it be that Davos's information is wrong? Isn't Richard skilled with crossbows?" one of them asked, puzzled.

"But you guys think that if Richard is really good at swordsmanship, then watching two swordsmanship geniuses duel would be much more interesting than archers fighting with shields!" one person said with a laugh.

When Davos saw Richard discard his bow and draw his sword, he was momentarily stunned, but then burst into laughter: "Richard, you're getting more and more interesting. However, I really wish you were a swordsmanship genius; that would be even more interesting."

But when he saw Richard's sword-wielding posture as he rushed over, his expression turned unusually serious.

Is this starting stance...?

"Whoosh!" Davos moved, throwing the huge tower shield in his hand directly at the charging Richard, and then quickly drew his sword and charged forward. Although he was wearing heavy armor, his movement speed was faster than a rabbit.

His towering stature and heavy armor, combined with his incredible speed, create an almost unreal impression! It further showcases Davos's immense physical strength!

In the blink of an eye, he was less than five meters away from Richard. In an instant, the two seemed to be able to feel each other's breath and the hairs on each other's backs.

Richard dodged the tower shield thrown by Davos with a twist of his body, but was immediately met with a heavy slash from Davos on the head. The force of the slash was so great that the blade almost shattered the air and made a whistling sound!

Just as everyone was watching anxiously to see how Richard would respond, Richard also drew his sword, recklessly thrusting it directly at the breastplate, the strongest part of the heavy armor.

Instantly, everyone was stunned. Wasn't this courting death?

But the next second, something happened that left them speechless!

Davos seemed to have slowed down suddenly, like a broken spring, and Richard's knight's sword seized the opportunity to strike, but the expected scenario of the sword bending or breaking did not occur.

Instead, Richard's longsword seemed to pierce through thin paper, actually piercing through Davos's abdomen, which was protected by thick plate armor!

After stabbing Richard, he deftly stepped back and calmly turned to pick up the gray wooden short bow that he had thrown aside earlier, while Davos behind him collapsed to the ground with a thud!

"This...this..." The obese student's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

"What's going on?!" One of the girls looked completely bewildered, knowing that Davos, with his tall stature and eight-pack abs, was her idol.

"What's going on?" A freshman turned to look at his classmate with a puzzled expression, but seeing the same confused look in his classmate's eyes, he knew that he wasn't the only one who had imagined things.

"Was Richard using witchcraft just now?" Ram muttered to himself, staring blankly, but then shook his head firmly. "Absolutely impossible. Richard arrived more than a month later than us, and he's only been at the school for a few days now. How could he possibly have learned such powerful witchcraft?"

The audience erupted in a cacophony of noise!
