Chapter 153 Departure

By this time, the two had already put on their clothes.

Daenerys was dressed in a light blue frost robe, exuding nobility and elegance. However, her originally tightly bound thick braids had now come loose, cascading down to her shoulders in natural golden waves, making her appear even more mature and alluring.

This change in demeanor gave Richard the feeling that a high and mighty goddess had just fallen to earth.

Daenerys glanced at Richard with her aquamarine eyes, her brow furrowing slightly. "Why are you staring at me like that?"

Richard scratched his head, feeling a little embarrassed, but still maintained a straight face and said, "No, what do you mean?"

Despite saying this, Richard felt as if a little devil with a pitchfork and horns was jumping out of his head, saying, "Is that all the courage you have? This woman has already... you know... with you, what's wrong with just glancing at her! Go on, hurry up and give her a couple of good kisses, then loudly tell her that I not only want to look, I also want to kiss her!"

Richard quickly shook his head, trying to clear his mind of the "wild ideas" that were swirling around in his head. He hadn't forgotten that the other party was a formal wizard.

He then pretended to look around, but immediately spotted the large white cocoon. Richard asked, "Is your tall subordinate from before still inside the white cocoon?"

Daenerys immediately realized that she had been so absent-minded that she had forgotten about this matter.

Just as she was about to go to her rescue, she suddenly stumbled. Richard saw this and couldn't help but chuckle.

Immediately, he was met with a fierce glare from Daenerys, but her blushing face had lost its usual intimidating power.

"Why don't you rest for a while?" Richard said with a smile. "Let my hatred come!"

For a moment, Richard felt a surge of masculine power.

After saying that, Richard waved the mutated summoning circle in his hand, and the next second, a huge inverted pentagram circle appeared on the ground, and the tall Abomination was summoned by Richard once again.

Upon seeing the tall, obese Abomination again, Daenerys seemed to remember something and said coldly, "I didn't expect you to have the strength of a quasi-wizard. I've been wanting to ask you this, it seems you were hiding in the background for a reason. Tell me, why didn't you come to help before?"

A prospective wizard refers to someone whose strength has reached the limit of a level three wizard apprentice and who is waiting for advanced meditation techniques or the water to break through the limit to advance.

However, a prospective wizard is essentially still a third-level wizard apprentice, not a formal wizard.

Upon hearing this, Richard roughly understood why Daenerys was so troubled by this issue.

She probably thought that if she had acted sooner, the two sides could have defeated the Spider Woman Shadra much earlier, and her team would not have suffered such heavy losses.

Under Daenerys's clear, pale blue gaze, Richard touched his nose; she was about to interrogate him.

One of them should be wrong; if that woman gets angry, he'll probably be in big trouble.

After carefully considering his words, Richard spoke eloquently: "The term 'quasi-wizard' is just a nice way of putting it. I'm actually quite self-aware; I'm merely a third-level wizard apprentice. And you and Shadra are too powerful; even if I were to get involved, I wouldn't be of much use."

"You can see what happens when you meddle in those two level-three wizard apprentices," Richard said, pointing towards the white cocoon.

"If it weren't for Shadra's cleverness in casting a suppression spell array, which suppressed both her and your strength to below that of a formal wizard, I wouldn't have been able to do anything at all."

"Besides, in the end, it was your ice magic that defeated her; I just lent a hand."

Richard shrugged, downplaying his role as much as possible in his explanation, attributing the victory to Shadra's mishandling of the situation and Daenerys's own formidable strength.

After a few words, Daenerys's expression softened considerably, and she fell into deep thought.

Richard breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this, thinking to himself, "Thank goodness, I've basically passed the test. Sure enough, women everywhere need to be coaxed."

Unfortunately, this is a huge weakness of mine. If only I had been a playboy in my past life, I could have handled this kind of situation with ease.

At this moment, the abomination strode toward the two white cocoons with large, thumping steps.

A few seconds later, the abomination swung its massive iron axe down at the small white cocoon with its thick arm, the blade of the axe seemingly just slicing through the surface of the cocoon without damaging its interior.

The balance was surprisingly well-controlled, giving the impression of handling something with effortless ease.

But to their surprise, a stream of blood gushed out instantly, accompanied by a strong smell of blood!

There was nothing there except blood; not even a skeleton.

"Hiss! It actually melted!" Richard exclaimed in surprise, while also feeling a bit scared of the Spider Woman's highly corrosive venom!

Richard immediately recalled the action of Shadra sucking the first white cocoon. Could it be that during a break in the previous battle, the Spider Woman had injected venom into it?

He was quite certain that when the three of them were first trapped in the spider woman's large white cocoon, he could still feel that their vital signs were relatively strong.

However, after the Spider Woman was severely injured by Daenerys' Glacial Scroll, the purpose of the three obviously changed, from disposable partners to disposable blood banks.

Richard then walked towards the last white cocoon, and sure enough, he could no longer sense even the slightest energy fluctuation within it.

He then shook his head at Daenerys.

Daenerys remained expressionless, lost in thought.

Richard then ordered the Abominations to break the white cocoon, and sure enough, another large pool of blood appeared!

Richard could tell that Daenerys was a little down, so he thought for a moment and comforted her, "Don't be sad. Let's go see the spoils. As a high-ranking member of the underground race, Shadra must have a lot of good stuff. We can split it in half."

Daenerys looked up, rolled her beautiful eyes at Richard, and said in a cold voice, "What are you dreaming about? I'll only let you choose one item at most."

Sure enough, diverting attention was a very effective method.

Richard gave a wry smile and said, "One is a bit too few, how about two?"

Daenerys ignored Richard and walked towards the altar first.

Richard saw this and immediately followed.

On the back of the altar, a large bag made of black spider silk is clearly visible.

It turns out that the Spider Woman often transforms during battles, so she wears rather revealing clothing and carries almost nothing with her, keeping most of her belongings in her bag.

As a two-armed spider woman, her strength is equivalent to that of a formal human wizard on the surface. Her package contains quite a few good things, some of which Richard doesn't even know the names of.

However, Daenerys, who was quite knowledgeable, pointed out the names and functions of some of the rare items to Richard.

"Huh, what's sealed inside is actually the blood of the traitor! I thought this stuff had long since disappeared!" Daenerys' eyes lit up as she pointed to a red teardrop-shaped pendant.

"The blood of a traitor? What is that?" Richard asked curiously.

"Its main purpose is to eliminate soul contracts. This amount is probably enough to eliminate one soul contract," Daenerys said after thinking for a moment.

When Richard heard that this item could actually be used to break a soul contract, his eyes lit up. He thought to himself that if he had this item, he could adjust his subsequent plans.

"Alright, as a thank you for your help this time, you can choose one item from these spoils."

He seemed to realize he was in the wrong, after all, without Richard and his Soul-Eating Spider's help, it was uncertain whether he could defeat the Spider Woman. But who would have thought that he would end up being defeated by a little brat?

Daenerys blushed again and explained, "The Spider Woman incident caused great losses to the kingdom. Not only do many fallen wizard apprentices need compensation, but the destroyed towns also require a large amount of funds to rebuild. Therefore, you can only choose one item."

Richard remained calm. Although it was only one item, most of the things, while precious, were indeed useless to Richard.

Moreover, Daenerys had given him priority in choosing, which was quite generous. Richard didn't hesitate to choose the item that could break the contract—the Blood of the Betrayer—and asked, "How do I use this Blood of the Betrayer?"

"A few other things are needed to work together. The [Elimination Ritual] is a valuable piece of knowledge, which can be considered compensation for the fact that you can only choose one item, although I don't know why you chose this item."

After saying that, Daenerys gently tapped Richard's forehead with her fair fingers, and a simple stream of information was transmitted to Richard's mind.

"Thank you!" Richard was taken aback, partly because he was trying to understand the newly appeared [Elimination Ritual] in his mind, and partly because he was surprised by Daenerys's generosity.

It should be noted that such precious knowledge is usually hard to come by; even when trading between formal wizards, an equivalent exchange is required.

The high-grade magic stones that were originally placed on the altar had now consumed more than half of their energy, but were still usable. Daenerys stretched out her fair fingers and put these high-grade magic stones, which were mostly used up, into her own pocket.

"Here, those dozen or so mid-grade magic stones are for you!"

Richard was immediately overjoyed, but then frowned, because he had thought of something else. He said with a pained expression, "Can I not take the intermediate-grade magic stone?"

"What, you want more high-grade magic stones?" Daenerys sneered.

"No, no, could you please give me the Spider Woman's corpse?" Richard asked hesitantly.

Daenerys immediately turned and glared at him fiercely. After a long while, she said, "So you have this fetish! But no way, don't even dream about it!"

This left Richard completely bewildered; he didn't understand where he had gone wrong.

The next second, a flash of inspiration struck Richard, and he realized what Daenerys was thinking. He immediately burst into laughter.

"What, am I wrong?"

"Of course not!"

Richard then briefly explained to Daenerys that Stephena and the Soul Eater were one soul and needed a body to be reborn.

This immediately made Daenerys blush with embarrassment, and she lowered her head like a child who had done something wrong.

Just as Richard was about to tease Daenerys a few more times, he suddenly heard a noise coming from the other end of the collapsed passage.

The massive energy released from the recently created magic array caused the collapse of the passageways surrounding the hall, and the sound just now was likely the sound of someone digging at the other end of the passageway.

Daenerys's expression turned serious as she said, "It must be the group of wizard apprentices and witchers I let go first. I think I should be leaving now. Let's just consider what happened between us a misunderstanding!"

After Daenerys finished speaking, she walked toward the blocked passage.

However, she stopped after taking a step and turned to Richard, asking, "You still haven't told me your name?"

"Richard, Richard Clavel!" Richard's face lit up with joy. "Then...can I come see you sometime?"

Daenerys seemed to sense Richard's intense gaze, which made her hesitate slightly. She nodded almost imperceptibly and said, "If you can become a formal wizard, you can come to the capital to find me. If I'm not there, then you should return to Hydashia Academy."

Having said that, Daenerys didn't hesitate any longer and turned to leave.

After a moment of silence, Richard calmly said, "I will definitely come to find you. Wait for me!"

Daenerys paused, but made no comment, and continued walking straight toward the passage.

This made Richard feel a little disappointed.

Perhaps in Daenerys's eyes, he is just an ignorant and arrogant brat.

Daenerys then cast a megaphone spell, announcing, "Everyone on the other side of the passage, make way! I'm about to use magic to blast open the rocks!"

Upon hearing Daenerys's cool voice, those on the other side of the passage immediately realized that it was Daenerys speaking.

There was a flurry of activity on the other side of the passage, which subsided after about ten seconds. A deep voice respectfully said, "Your Excellency Daenerys, we have all retreated to a distance of thirty meters."

"Not enough, at least fifty meters!"

"Yes, sir!"

A moment later, Daenerys began to chant a spell softly, and a giant, sharp ice spike, four or five meters long, appeared out of thin air in front of her.

With a flick of her fair fingers, the giant ice spike hurtled toward the boulder blocking the passage!

"boom!"

The icicles collided violently with the boulder, and after the dust and ice shards settled, a circular hole appeared in the center of the passage, much to Richard's astonishment.

With a single strike, it pierced through a boulder nearly a meter thick; the power of a level one sorcery was truly terrifying!

But the blockage wasn't just a single boulder. After Daenerys cast Giant Ice Spike three times in a row, she suddenly heard cheers from the other side of the passage.

Clearly, the passage had been opened. Daenerys cast an ice shield on herself, and her petite and elegant figure disappeared into the dim passage.

A moment later, some noises that Richard found annoying came from the other end of the passage:

"Lady Daenerys, are you alright?"

"Lady Daenerys, where is Lord Vincent?"

"."

A cacophony of questions came from the other side of the passage.

"The Spider Woman has been killed, and Vincent and the others have all perished. We'll return to the county town now!" Daenerys said coldly, then seemed unwilling to say any more before setting off back to the county town.

The others immediately grumbled and followed them back.

Richard watched the disappearing figure, feeling an indescribable sense of loss.

He sighed inwardly, "Well, at least I know her name, Daenerys Bannings, and she knows mine too!"

After a long pause, Richard stroked his chin. "However, just becoming a formal wizard should take about six months!"

Hey everyone, the main character has gone through their coming-of-age ceremony, won't you give them some monthly tickets and a like? ^_^
