Chapter 14 Changes in Holy Soul Village

Because Jerry taught everyone how to use fertilizer, crop yields increased significantly that year.

It used to be a village with lots of greenery (weeds), but now it's all bare.

In the past, some families ate only one meal a day, while those who were slightly better off ate two meals a day.

Now, most households have enough food; they eat three meals a day and even have some left over.

To develop a village, Jerry believes that both planting and animal husbandry are necessary.

Planting crops can only provide food, which is considered vegetarian, but people can't just eat vegetarian food.

Therefore, aquaculture must also be developed.

However, an unexpected event occurred, causing Jerry to give up breeding.

Jerry started raising livestock, beginning with a few chickens as an experiment.

Since there were no livestock in the village, Jerry went to the back mountain alone and spent seven or eight days finding a spirit beast that resembled a chicken.

What a pheasant! Laying eggs randomly, I secretly collected twenty eggs.

A brood of chicks was discovered, seemingly recently hatched. The mother hen was nowhere to be found, which was perfect for Jerry, who simply took the whole brood.

Afraid that Mother Hen would return and hold Jerry accountable, they didn't dare stay any longer and went straight back to the village.

I built a chicken coop for the chicks at home, and the raising of them officially began.

Twenty eggs, which were originally intended to be hatched, but now the conditions don't allow it; there's no incubator, so I can only eat them with tears in my eyes.

Really fragrant!

Everything was normal at first, and with plenty of food, the chicks grew very quickly.

At this growth rate, it will be ready to eat in thirty days.

But fifteen days later, these chickens suddenly became ten-year-old soul beasts.

His personality also became irritable, and he even started hurting people.

Grandpa Jack kindly fed them, but they didn't appreciate it and tried to peck at him.

Luckily, Xiao Wu and Jerry arrived in time. Those little chicks have gone too far! They dare to hurt people at such a young age. Without saying a word, they dealt with the chickens.

The chicken is only 15 days old. It's not very big and doesn't have much meat. It's a pity to throw it away, but it's not very meaty to eat.

Based on the principle that wasting food is shameful, these chickens were served on the table that evening, just like eating sparrows.

The chickens in this world are very aggressive; they'll peck you if you get too close.

The village is now populated by ordinary people. If they were to put in the effort, they could handle these 15-day-old chickens, but raising them would not be cost-effective.

At this moment, Jerry remembered the information he had read before: chicken-type spirit beasts, adults can fly, and they belong to the category of bird spirit beasts.

It has a sharp beak and claws, is extremely fast, lives in groups, is highly dangerous, and is very difficult to catch.

Chicken, you've really got guts! You've become a fighting chicken!

After that, I dared not raise animals anymore.

That year, Jerry didn't neglect his cultivation either. Thanks to ten years of soul beast fertilizer, his soul power had already reached level 22.

It got slower and slower as it went on, and Jerry still hadn't added any spirit rings.

Perhaps because of Jerry's high mental strength, he could sense that his soul power was level 22.

Actually, Jerry didn't test it. If he had, it would have shown a maximum level of ten.

Others, without spirit rings, might be lucky to reach two or three levels through cultivation, but Jerry is different; he relies entirely on consuming fertilizer.

Jerry tried cultivating without fertilizer, but he could hardly feel any improvement, so he gave up on traditional cultivation methods.

Xiao Wu has been training by Jerry's side for a year, eating and drinking well, and her soul power has reached level 19.

He gained three levels in a year, but when Xiao Wu learned about Jerry's soul power level, she was instantly dissatisfied with only gaining three levels in a year.

She knew Jerry's training methods, but she couldn't use them.

As for Jerry's training results, if he were in the academy, he would have already astonished everyone.

Tang San is back from his vacation, with his soul power at level 17. Without Xiao Wu around, he has become the leader of the academy.

His personality hasn't changed much; he's quiet and reserved. He'll say a few words when he sees Jerry, but not much.

He felt that he and Jerry were not the same kind of people and that they would not have any communication in the future.

He'll be a high-ranking Soul Master in the future, while Jerry will probably just be a farmer for the rest of his life.

Now you can receive one gold soul coin from the Spirit Hall every month, which is much more profitable than farming.

Jerry had considered telling the villagers about the animal fat, but the villagers were all people without soul power, so even a ten-year-old soul beast fish would be difficult to catch, so he gave up.

He used animal fertilizer in his carrot field, and before long, all the carrots grew into ten-year-old spirit beasts.

Since carrots, being plant-type spirit beasts, aren't very dangerous, they called on Grandpa Jack and Xiao Wu to come and dig up carrots together.

Xiao Wu was delighted to see the ground covered with ten-year-old soul beast radishes, and she dug and ate them as she went.

These ten-year-old carrots all have spirit rings, and Grandpa Jack was very surprised that Jerry could mass-produce spirit beasts.

Then he told Jerry not to train him anymore, because someone was watching him and he might lose his life.

Grandpa Jack is indeed a very shrewd man, having lived to such an old age.

Grandpa Jack took all the carrots home and secretly sold a batch in Nottingham City for 10 gold soul coins each.

He sold it at several different stores, and after selling 1000 gold soul coins, he quietly returned without anyone noticing.

Jerry knew why his grandfather was risking selling those carrots; it wasn't because his grandfather was greedy for money, but because he planned to use the money to improve the village.

Jerry suddenly realized that he could raise soul beasts, which would give him soul rings. Before, he had low combat power because he didn't have soul rings, and Xiao Wu was just a soul master, so he didn't dare to hunt soul beasts.

Without an elder to guide you, asking someone else to hunt for spirit rings won't work.

First, it's expensive, and Jerry doesn't have any gold soul coins; second, Jerry is a child and has no fighting ability, so if he encounters danger, the Soul Hunter team will definitely abandon him.

Jerry also wanted a hundred-year spirit ring. A hundred-year spirit beast is very dangerous to a spirit master of level ten or so. Now he can cultivate some non-lethal plants, so he can get a spirit ring.

Without further ado, Jerry found a blue silver grass, a sunflower, a wild chrysanthemum, and luckily, a ginseng.

Ginseng does exist in this world, but wild ginseng is rarely seen because animals, sensing its spiritual power, dig it up and eat it.

Plant these plants in the yard and start cultivating them. Plants grow into ten-year-old soul beasts very quickly. With sufficient animal manure, they can grow into ten-year-old soul beasts in just one month.

The plant spirit beasts are very gentle and have no impact on the yard.

However, it takes much longer to cultivate a soul beast into a hundred-year-old one.

Six months later, with Jerry's ample fertilizer, the four plants finally grew to a hundred years old. The four plants, radiating yellow soul power, could clearly be perceived as capable of cultivating on their own.

It's time to make a move. Jerry had considered these four plants for a long time before choosing them.

Jerry couldn't wait for them to grow by several hundred years; he was eager to get a spirit ring because his spirit power had only increased by one level in the past six months.

The ten-year-old spirit beast fertilizer is no longer enough for the martial spirit to absorb, so it must quickly absorb spirit rings to become stronger in order to obtain a hundred-year-old spirit beast fertilizer.
