Hunter x Hunter: The Strongest Zoldyck

Chapter 82 Two or Three Things in Daily Life

In a clothing store in the plaza's commercial district, warm-colored lights shone down from above, bathing each garment in a yellow glow.

Standing in front of rows of clothes racks, Roy's finger slid across the side and finally stopped on a gray T-shirt with a cartoon print.

He took it off, held it in his hand, and looked at it...

The color is light gray, and the pattern is a cartoon kitten with its head tilted to one side, licking its tongue, with round eyes, looking both honest and cute.

He turned and walked towards Fica, holding the T-shirt up in front of him:

"Try this one? I think it matches my style better."

"Uh..." Fica was a little taken aback, her mouth opened and closed, but she didn't know what to say for a moment.

He truly hadn't expected his boss to say "let's go for a walk."

In the end, they really just went out for a stroll... not to the training ground, not to gather information about the opponents, and not to observe any suspicious people in some secluded corner, but to browse clothing stores.

Shopping at a clothing store... A Zoldyck, shopping at a clothing store.

Fica's brain short-circuited for a moment, then reconnected.

He secretly glanced at Roy... white hair, silver-gray pupils, calm expression, gentle eyes. He didn't seem like someone who grew up in an assassin training camp; he looked like an ordinary boy.

Aside from occasionally showing a "little adult" composure, Roy is no different from a twelve or thirteen-year-old child when it comes to shopping, talking, and looking at clothes.

Is the Zoldyck family not actually an assassin family? Are the rumors just that?

Fika muttered to himself.

He felt that apart from acting a bit like a little adult and not like a child, Roy was normal in every other way and did not have the cold and gloomy demeanor of an assassin at all.

But then he thought again, he didn't seem to have seen any other assassins.

So... is this the normal way for the boss to act?

Are those sinister killers in movies all just acting?

Never mind... I don't want to think about it anymore.

Shaking his head, Fica banished these chaotic thoughts, leaving only one idea in his mind.

As long as the boss is still the boss, who cares if he's a Zoldyck or not.

Who cares if he kills someone or not, who cares if he suddenly turns cold in the next second.

None of that matters.

The important thing is... the eldest brother is picking out clothes for him.

Thinking of this, Fica's lips curled up slightly.

He revealed a clean, pure smile:

"Hmm, I think it's good, boss."

"Right, I think so too."

Roy nodded, his silver-gray pupils reflecting Fika's smiling face. With a flick of his wrist, he shoved the T-shirt in his hand into Fika's arms.

"Take it and give it a try."

"Um?"

Fica instinctively reached out and caught it, then froze for a moment.

It wasn't the weight of the T-shirt that stunned her, but that action... that gesture of shoving the shirt into his arms and then turning away that touched something.

He stood there, watching Roy's back as he walked towards the women's clothing section, clutching the light gray T-shirt with a cartoon cat print in his hand, his grip tightening slightly.

This seems to be the first time that someone other than his parents has chosen clothes for him.

It's not just a casual "This one's nice," it's about actually standing in front of the shelf, looking at each item one by one, picking one out, taking it down, handing it to him, and saying, "Take this and try it on."

Fica's emotions were somewhat turbulent, like the surface of water rippled by the wind, spreading out in circles, but quickly calming down.

He took a deep breath and swallowed back the warm, sour, and astringent feeling that welled up in his chest.

It's just a piece of clothing.

But he had already remembered Boss Roy's kindness.

So he didn't hesitate and headed to the fitting room with his T-shirt.

After taking a couple of steps, I couldn't help but glance back again...

Roy had already walked to the women's clothing section and was standing in front of a row of dresses. He stretched out his right hand, his fingertips lingering on a pale yellow dress for a moment before taking it off the hanger.

..........

The lighting in the women's section was softer than in the men's section, and the warm tones fell on the fabric of the dresses, like flower petals that had been sun-dried.

A faint scent of new clothes wafted in the air—not perfume, but the natural smell of the fabric itself, clean, soft, and with a comforting aroma, like freshly washed bed sheets.

Standing in front of a row of neatly arranged women's clothing, Roy held up the pale yellow dress in her right hand, looking at it for a long time.

The dress has a simple design: a round neck, sleeveless, with a perfectly fitted waist and a hem that falls just above the knee.

The color is a very light yellow, like a tender bud just sprouting in spring. The fabric is a cotton-linen blend, which feels soft and breathable, not as smooth as silk, nor as fake as synthetic fibers.

He turned around and looked at Serapika.

The girl stood a few steps away, leaning against the shelf, her right hand resting on the short knife at her waist... not out of wariness, but out of habit.

Her hands were there as naturally as someone else's hands in their pockets.

"Hey... Serapika, try this on."

Roy's voice wasn't loud, but it was clear.

There was no commanding tone, no pleading tone, just a confident "I think this suits you."

His eyes were gentle and reserved; his silver-gray pupils lacked the cold light typical of an assassin, instead possessing a faint, moonlit warmth.

The girl looked back in surprise.

She frowned slightly, puzzled as to why Luo Yi was standing in the women's clothing section, why he stopped in front of a row of dresses, and why he picked up a pale yellow dress, then turned around and said to her, "Try this one."

Seraphia looked down at her dark, faded sailor uniform and then at the pale yellow dress in Roy's hand.

Why?

She looked up at Roy through her brown eyes, her gaze filled with an indescribable emotion.

"Hmm..." Roy tilted his head, rested his right hand on his chin, and said, feigning thought:

"Because we're partners now, partners in the same Wind Hunter Squad..."

"Yes! Partner."

Luo Yi repeated the last two words in a calm tone.

Serapika paused for a moment.

She opened her mouth as if to say something, but nothing came out.

Then, she reached out and took the dress.

"I'll give it a try..."

Serapika, clutching the dress, turned and headed towards the fitting room. Before entering, she turned back to Roy and whispered something.

"Thank you... Boss..."

Roy stood there, hands in his pockets, his silver-gray pupils reflecting the direction Serapika had disappeared in.

The corners of his mouth curved slightly... not in a smile, but in a "that's right" expression.

The curtains in the fitting room were drawn.

There was silence for a few seconds, then the sounds of fabric being unfolded, clothes hangers being placed on the floor, and zippers being unzipped could be heard.

Roy didn't listen. He turned around, walked to the French windows, and looked at the people coming and going in the square outside.

The sun was shining brightly, the wind was gentle, and the shadows of pigeons glided across the paving stones like a flowing painting.
