Li Ang held the silver ring in his hand and examined it closely under the light of the cave's light membrane.

Li Ang turned to look at the soul of the silver-haired girl who was still suspended in mid-air by Shirley.

Fennes had stopped struggling; he simply lowered his head, his silver hair obscuring his face, making his expression unreadable.

But her shoulders were trembling slightly, as if she was suppressing some emotion called fear.

"I've given you the things, now you can let me go..." Her voice was nasal.

Li Ang slowly and deliberately put the ring on his right index finger, and the size was just right.

Then he looked up and gave a gentle smile.

"When did I ever say I was going to let you go?"

Fennes abruptly raised her head, her beautiful eyes wide, tears still clinging to the corners: "You broke your promise!"
