Here.

The two drug addicts rummaged through Kreeer's sleeping bag, cursing and swearing, hoping to find some US dollars to buy some mental supplements for the next day. As for Kreeer, whom they had just stabbed to death, they didn't care at all; the lives of homeless people were worthless here.

"That damn cripple, he only has six dollars on him? And he claims to have been in the elite unit?" one of them complained.

The other man kicked his sleeping bag, spat, and was about to curse when he was interrupted by a sudden smell. He frowned and sniffed carefully: "Hmm? What's that smell?"

"It smells a bit like...fish? That cripple's hiding a fish? Let's find it! We can at least sell it for some money!"

Even though the two of them hadn't eaten all day, the first thing they did upon learning there was fish wasn't to eat, but to exchange it for money to buy something more important: spiritual nourishment.

The two searched the surrounding area but could not find the source of the fishy smell.

"We couldn't find him. Could it be that the cripple is hiding him..." one addict said, turning to look at where Kriel's body had been. However, he seemed to have discovered something terrifying, and his voice suddenly stopped.

"What's going on? I hate talking so much..." The other person also turned to look at the location of Kriel's body, and he finally realized the problem.

Kriel's body... is gone!

Where the body was originally located, only a puddle of water remains!

"What's going on?! Where's that cripple? Did he come back to life?" One of them was terrified by the scene and deliberately made a loud noise to bolster his courage.

The other person didn't speak, but his tense body revealed his inner turmoil. He gripped the dagger tighter and looked around warily.

While the two drug addicts were on high alert, they did not notice that a strange figure had silently appeared behind them.

As the eerie figure appeared, a strong fishy smell assaulted their nostrils. Before they could react, a large hand, like an iron clamp, gripped one of their necks tightly and lifted him up like a chick.

The addict couldn't even scream anymore; only a dying gasp escaped from deep in his throat. Kriel calmly watched the man struggle, his legs kicking wildly, but the force had no effect on Kriel at this moment.

The sound of bones breaking was clearly audible. Only after the other person's head lolled to the side and he was completely dead did Kriel casually toss the addict's body aside like trash.

"Bang!"

With a casual toss, Kriel sent the corpse flying more than ten meters before it crashed into a concrete wall, creating spiderweb-like cracks and making a loud noise.

The other man was terrified by the sudden turn of events. He didn't even see what happened before he saw his companion being thrown out.

Driven by instinct, he gripped the dagger in his hand and stabbed at Kriel!

The dagger pierced the target squarely.

However, this time it wasn't as effective as before. There was no blood splattering, no wounds left, only a crisp sound.

The gleaming dagger in his hand had broken in half, its blade falling to the cold cement floor. The hilt remained in his hand, making a harsh, metallic scraping sound.

The broken blade didn't even leave a mark on Kriel's skin.

The addict's body stiffened, and only then did he see clearly what the figure was.

This isn't human at all; it's a monster with a fish head and a human body! The fishy smell is coming from it!

At the same moment he saw clearly, his brain seemed to suddenly receive a huge amount of information, almost causing him to fall into a coma. Even so, his thoughts began to become chaotic, and he was almost unable to think normally.

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! What the hell are you?!" His voice trembled, choked with sobs.

Kriel didn't respond, but slowly raised his thick right arm and, with a whooshing sound, struck the other man's head, much to the man's horror.

The addict's head exploded like a watermelon, splattering red and white substances everywhere!

The surroundings fell silent, leaving only two mangled corpses and bloodstains on the ground.

Kriel stood there with his head down, and through the water, he finally saw what he looked like.

It was a face he had never seen before, or even a species he had never seen before!

But this was not important to him, because he could clearly feel that an inexhaustible source of life was surging out from the deepest part of his body and sweeping over his entire body.

Despite being in his forties, he felt no signs of aging at all, and even had the feeling that he could live for thousands of years, or even live forever!

Kriel raised his hand and touched his left leg.

His left leg, which had been destroyed by a bomb, was now completely intact, its muscles brimming with power, even stronger than in his prime.

There was no pain.

I am not tired.

The PTSD that had tormented him for years, the lingering battlefield images in his mind, the auditory hallucinations and screams that tormented him day and night, all vanished at this moment. His mind was clear, as if it had been thoroughly cleansed.

The anxiety from not taking painkillers for so long also disappeared without a trace.

Not only that.

He felt his mind was clearer than ever before.

He could easily recall every detail of his past life, and he gradually began to understand the voice he heard before his death. It was no longer a chaotic murmur, but a kind of ineffable, magnificent will.

He got it.

Everything he received was a gift from that voice.

An indescribable great being pulled him from the abyss on his deathbed.

Kriel suddenly knelt down on the ground.

A lump rose in his throat; it wasn't sadness, but rather an overwhelming sense of shock and ecstasy!

Hot tears rolled down his bulging eyes.

He recalled how he had risked his life for that country. When he enlisted, he even bought his own uniform and some equipment. After enlisting, under the scorching desert sun and amidst gunfire, he used his own flesh and blood to resist and fight against the invasion. He almost lost his life countless times for the country's ambitions.

But in the end, he was abandoned by the country and betrayed by his wife!

He gave his all, but ended up with nothing.

But what about the great being before us?

It gave him new life, gave him strength, and gave him eternal life.

It asked for nothing.

I didn't want anything!

This contrast was so stark it tore him apart.

The country he had given everything to discarded him like a rag, while the great being who only whispered to him on his deathbed generously gave him everything.

woohoo~

It's not over yet!

It's never enough!

The gratitude we owe to this great being is never enough!
