Chapter 28 Rats
"So, my life level can actually be upgraded?"
Li Ming stood by the sea, feeling the sea breeze and sensing his own state.
Just now, he upgraded one of the abilities he recently redeemed to purple.
[The Filthy Edict (Purple)] - Brings impurity.
After this ability turned purple, he had acquired three purple abilities, and he could clearly feel that his life form had changed again!
However, this change wasn't as dramatic as when I first obtained the [Abyss (Purple)], which was like going from nothing to something, but any change is a good thing.
Li Ming was increasingly looking forward to his first red ability. He couldn't even imagine what level his life level would reach, or how terrifying his passive ability would be!
Taking a deep breath to calm himself down, Li Ming was more concerned about Kriel's current situation than the future.
This Creel is really too idle right now.
As the leader of the Deep Ones, he had his subordinates to handle everything, so he didn't need to worry about daily affairs. Whenever he had free time, he liked to study things.
And what he studied was...
Whispering.
Research is one thing, but the problem is that this guy actually figured it out!
Yes, he had indeed understood some of the words in the whispers, even though those words were just language that Li Ming had casually created.
When Li Ming discovered this, he was genuinely taken aback.
Fortunately, he was farsighted enough not to spout nonsense at the time, but instead designed a mysterious and esoteric advancement system.
If all conditions are met perfectly, Li Ming will upgrade Kriel's ability to red.
Of course, Li Ming himself doesn't have any red abilities right now.
But that's not important. By the time Kriel meets those conditions, Li Ming himself estimates he'll have several red abilities.
"Consider this a main quest assigned to you."
"Revenge is one thing, studying whispers is another; those two will keep you busy enough."
After deciding on Kriel's situation, Li Ming thought of another unlucky fellow, Yorn.
"I wonder what this guy is like now, and whether he can control his body."
With a thought, Li Ming unleashed his whispered perception abilities.
His consciousness transcended the limitations of physical distance, like an invisible thread, precisely connecting with Yorn's location.
......
Washington, District 8.
In this area with the worst crime rate among workers, without any extraordinary threat to society, the murder rate reaches approximately 71.9 per 10 people. This number even exceeds that of Ciudad Juárez, a notoriously dangerous city on the Mexican border, which is enough to illustrate the level of terror.
In communities like Capitol Heights, shootings are frequent, with stray bullets even hitting children's rooms in homes. Although the federal government has deployed National Guard troops, local residents generally report that they have not felt a significant improvement in security.
In an old townhouse on the edge of this area, Jon Hansen is going through the most outrageous phase of his life.
He was lying under the family's sofa, and at that moment, his feelings were hard to describe.
The whole world changed after he heard that whisper.
His body disappeared.
It is not a metaphorical disappearance, but a real, physical disappearance.
He was still conscious, but his body had been broken into countless pieces, each with its own direction of movement, some fast and some slow, some going east and some going west.
The first few hours were a real nightmare.
He can sense the location of each of his fragments, see the field of vision of each fragment, and see thousands of images from different angles at the same time, but he just can't control any of them.
The feeling is like lying awake in bed, watching your own hands and feet get up and go their separate ways, and then you can only stand there staring blankly, while enduring the chaotic feeling of the scene in front of you being wildly displaced.
After a few days of adjustment, Yorn finally got the hang of it.
He wasn't completely out of control; he just didn't know how to control it at first. Now, at least he can control some of the fragments to move toward his desired destination, although his movements are still clumsy.
He sometimes wondered if other superhumans also suffered this much when they first gained their abilities.
He didn't know. But Jon felt that no one was worse off than him.
You have to work hard to maintain your health.
Forget it, I don't want to.
Jon sighed, though he no longer had lungs and the sighing was purely a conscious act, before continuing to focus on his "puzzle project."
He now has gathered about twenty bodies in the living room of this family.
This is the closest group he can currently gather.
"Take your time, take your time..."
Yorn controlled a body coming from the kitchen, carefully navigating around the table legs and moving closer to the main body under the sofa.
Even though he was very careful, he was still not skilled enough, and a piece of debris that was moving from the direction of the coffee table accidentally grazed the remote control.
The remote control slipped off the edge of the coffee table.
"Clatter".
The sound wasn't loud, but it was exceptionally clear in the dead of night.
Yorn made the body quickly hide, and at the same time all the bodies stopped and remained motionless.
The living room lights were off, but there was noise coming from the bedroom.
"What's that sound?" the woman asked, her voice tinged with obvious tension.
"A rat, what else could it be?" The man's voice was flat and drowsy, followed by the clattering of slippers on the floor.
The man walked into the living room carrying a plastic clothes hanger; he didn't even bother to pick up a stick.
I bent down to look under the coffee table and kicked the sofa leg, but I didn't see anything.
"It's okay, honey. You know how this place is. We'll just buy a sticky mouse trap tomorrow."
The man yawned and patted back to the bedroom.
The door closed.
The twenty-odd pieces of Jon slowly resumed moving.
mouse.
Sticky mouse trap.
These two words spun around in his mind three times.
"Wait until I gather my body together, then I'll show you how to deal with you."
Jon thought viciously to himself.
He ignored the couple and focused intently on bringing the shards together under the sofa.
Twenty-five yuan in total!
As each piece approaches, it automatically attaches together like a jigsaw puzzle. When the body fragments merge together, Yorn can even see in various directions.
Once all the parts of his body were assembled, Jon had grown considerably larger, roughly the size of an adult cat.
He suddenly became a little curious.
What do I actually look like now?
He manipulated his still-incomplete body, crawled out from under the sofa, and searched around until he found a full-length mirror at the end of the corridor.
Yorn moved closer.
The reflection in the mirror froze all his fragments at once.
