Chapter 64 Beginning

"Loki, it's been so long! Your skills are still as good as ever."

Thor brandished his little hammer with immense confidence.

He was no longer a confused man unable to recognize himself; he was Thor, son of Odin, and heir to the throne of Asgard!

Loki accompanied his brother with a helpless expression, looking utterly annoyed, but the fleeting joy in his eyes betrayed him completely, thankfully Thor didn't notice.

"Director, with these two princes joining us, S.H.I.E.L.D. will definitely be able to show our might and shut those military guys up!"

"Coulson said with delight, while Nick Fury beside him looked on with a fawning expression."

Just as Xia Ling was about to say something, her phone suddenly rang.

"What? Are you sure?"

After answering the call, Xia Ling's expression gradually became serious, which made Coulson and Nick Fury, who were standing next to her, wonder what had happened.

"Gentlemen, I have bad news. The Red Giant has led his troops to attack."

The citizens of New York never imagined that one day they would face the threat of war, and by the time they realized it, they were already on the battlefield.

New Yorkers, who were originally expected to experience war years later, were able to get a taste of what war looks like today.

Successfully being able to have time to adapt in advance before a tumultuous future arrives.

Fortunately, there is some good news: the Chitauri are not coming, and Thanos will most likely be unable to invade Earth.

However, those bloodthirsty Khorne followers were even more ferocious than the Chiritars.

The shadow of war quickly enveloped New York like a dark cloud, pushing this once-prosperous city to the brink of destruction.

The Red Giant and his minions surged in like a tidal wave, their eyes fixed on slaughter and conquest, showing no mercy to life.

As the Red Giants and their men launched a fierce offensive, the streets and alleys of New York quickly turned into a battlefield.

Explosions and gunfire mingled together, deafeningly loud, and thick smoke billowed, obscuring half the sky.

The citizens were in a panic; some sought refuge, while others tried to flee the war-torn city.

Shop windows along the streets were shattered by debris from the explosion, and flames soared into the sky, illuminating the night as if it were daytime.

The overturned vehicles, engulfed in flames, became obstacles to escape. Pedestrians ran in terror, pushing and shoving each other, trying to find a glimmer of hope in the chaos.

Tony, dressed in his battle suit, stared furiously at the scene before him. This was not a war, but a massacre!

Blood flowed on the shattered streets, turning the once bustling cityscape into a shocking crimson.

Everywhere there was a landscape of piled-up heads, as if they were being used to build a throne.

Tony could no longer hold back. He activated the flight system of his suit and instantly took to the air, tearing through the night sky like an enraged Thor, heading straight for the area where the Khorne Warband was most concentrated.

"For New York, for innocent lives!"

Tony roared inwardly, and at the same time, his suit began to emit a dazzling light, a sign of highly concentrated energy.

With a wave of his hands, the palm cannons were activated instantly. Two high-energy beams pierced the darkness like lightning, accurately striking the two Khorne cultists and sending them flying.

This attack instantly made him realize that something was wrong.

His palm lightning strikes are usually used to instantly kill anyone they see, but today it only knocked them away. Although they looked badly injured and obviously had no chance of survival.

But if even a lowly henchman has such physical abilities, how powerful must their leader, Banner the Red Giant, and Bronsky, who almost single-handedly took on the Church of Dagon, be?

Tony's doubts were short-lived; he quickly adjusted his mindset and realized that he was facing an unprecedentedly powerful enemy.

Just as Tony was battling the Khorne followers in the air, feeling an unprecedented sense of urgency and unease, the situation on the ground also took a sharp turn for the worse.

New York's defense forces, including the police, military, and even some superheroes, have been thrown into this sudden war, but their resistance appears so weak and ineffective.

The army's heavy equipment was like paper in the face of Khorne's overwhelming power. Tanks were easily overturned, and even with the soldiers' valiant resistance, they could not withstand the enemy's overwhelming offensive, completely replicating the last war.

Moreover, because the battle was being fought in the city, the army was unable to deploy its forces effectively, and the attack suffered a severe setback.

Despite their best efforts, New York's defense forces were overwhelmed by the brutal offensive of the Khorne believers.

The army's heavy weapons lost their former effectiveness in the narrow streets and dense buildings, and every attempt to counterattack was like throwing an egg against a rock, barely slowing down the enemy's advance.

General Thomas, once a formidable figure, was sweating profusely as he tried to adjust his tactics to cope with this unprecedented crisis.

This was not what he had expected. Logically, his tough young men should have been used as cannon fodder to draw attention, and then the priests of the Dagon Church should have used magic to defeat them.

But to everyone's surprise, the Red Giants did not play by the rules and instead launched an attack on New York.

Where does he get the audacity? How could he dare to do such a thing?

General Thomas's mind raced. It was no longer a question of whether others dared to do it, but how to repel the enemy. If it really didn't work, he would have no choice but to leave quickly, otherwise, if a dirty bomb hit, it would be a question whether he would even be left with ashes.

General Thomas and his team began organizing small commando units to conduct guerrilla warfare using the terrain and long-range weapon systems for precision strikes against the enemy.

However, these efforts seem to be only a drop in the ocean, as the Khorne Legion is now much stronger than before.

Before Banner and Bronsky even showed up, their henchmen, with their astonishing strength and terrifying defense, became a nightmare on the battlefield.

They easily crushed all obstacles in their path; neither sturdy fortifications nor brave soldiers could stop their advance.

However, General Thomas no longer needed to consider whether to flee or continue fighting. With a car flying towards him and turning him into a paste, he no longer needed to think about anything.

"We must find their weaknesses!"

Tony silently recited the instructions, while simultaneously using the advanced technology of his suit to conduct a comprehensive scan of the battlefield, attempting to find any weaknesses in the Khorne followers' defenses.

However, these ferocious monsters seem to have absolutely no weaknesses.

Tony watched the battle gradually crumble, a resolute glint in his eyes. If he could kill their leader, Banner, he might be able to rout them.

Despite being called a legion, the entire organization appeared disorganized, and Banner couldn't be found in the scan.

At that moment, several Khorne warriors suddenly leaped up and kicked Tony hard, knocking him to the ground.

Tony, who was already dizzy and disoriented from the beating and whose body was 45% damaged, hadn't even had time to react before he was surrounded and about to be smashed into mincemeat.

Just then, a loud shout came from afar.

"I'll help you!"
