Chapter 57 I won't fall for it again!
"Making up a story? Trying to fool me?"
Thor's voice was low and hoarse, each word seemingly squeezed out from between his teeth.
"Chief, please stop provoking him. We may not be good people, but don't you feel any remorse treating a mental patient like this?"
Coulson's words carried a hint of helplessness and reluctance. He sighed softly, and his pen unconsciously stopped moving across the notebook.
"Coulson, what are you saying? If we're not good people, then there are no good people in the world. You need to have confidence; we are an organization that maintains peace."
"But when we mess with a mental patient, I always feel like we're the main villains in a comic book, and it's not uncommon for a hero like Captain America to come after us."
"I want to see who dares to come here without fear of death. I'll slice them into pieces."
The two men's back-and-forth banter enraged the Asgardian prince; he remembered everything.
He was indeed exiled and captured by a large group of Misgards, and then had a hood put on his head by the person in front of him. He was in a daze for a long time and only just woke up now.
"Enough, mortals! How dare you be so disrespectful to the heir to the throne of Asgard! Release me now, or you will all be sentenced to death!"
Thor's loud shout made the two stop what they were doing and turn to look at him.
Especially the man named Coulson, whose eyes were filled with pity.
"Chief, his condition is getting worse and worse. He's completely immersed in his own delusions. I think we should just find a reliable mental hospital and send him there?"
"Shut up, I'm not crazy!"
"Crazy people always say they're not crazy."
Coulson shrugged, then looked at Xia Ling, indicating that the boss should make the decision.
Xia Ling's smiling gaze shifted between Thor and Coulson, finally settling on Thor's face, which was filled with anger and defiance.
"Okay, Coulson, he's not mentally ill."
"Yes, I'm not crazy. You, a mere mortal, have good judgment."
Thor immediately began to boast to Xia Ling, as if he had no recollection of who had caused his current predicament.
"Thor, if you truly are a prince of Asgard, then you must possess extraordinary abilities or knowledge. Could you demonstrate them to us to prove your identity?"
"Well"
Thor has lost all his magic power, so what can he possibly have to prove his identity?
He had nothing left except his meow hammer.
Wait, his hammer.
"I have it, I don't."
Thor, who had just shouted excitedly, suddenly remembered that he could no longer lift the hammer, and immediately deflated.
"What?"
"I have no way to prove my identity, mortal."
"Then there's nothing we can do, Your Highness. Please stay here for a while. We have some things to take care of. We might have to transfer you to a more upscale mental hospital to prevent you from suffering too much."
As soon as Xia Ling finished speaking, Thor's face turned ashen. His eyes flashed with resentment and anger as he roared loudly.
"You think you can trap me like this? The prince of Asgard is not so easily subdued!"
Seeing this, Coulson shook his head slightly, his eyes filled with even more sympathy.
"Let's go, leave him alone, let him calm down here by himself."
After that, no matter how much Thor roared, the two ignored him and left the room, leaving Thor's voice echoing in the empty room.
Thor struggled desperately, trying to break free of the ropes and escape.
If he hadn't lost his strength, he could have easily broken free of the rope.
But now he's just a mortal, as he puts it, and there's nothing he can do except be tied up here.
The atmosphere in the room became unusually heavy, and Thor's heart was filled with pain and despair.
However, just when Thor was about to be consumed by despair, he suddenly sensed a faint energy fluctuation.
Although the energy was weak, it felt strangely familiar, as if it came from some corner deep within his heart.
Thor was startled. A handsome young man in a suit suddenly appeared in front of him. The man's face was so familiar to him; it was his brother Loki.
"Loki, thank goodness, brother, you've come to my rescue! Let me out of here!"
Thor's voice carried a hint of urgency and anticipation; he had been suffering here for so long and longed to get out.
He thought he had no chance, but unexpectedly, his brother came down to save him.
"I'm sorry, Thor, I can't do that."
Loki's words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly extinguishing the flame of hope in Thor's heart.
The expectation on his face quickly turned into astonishment and confusion, and his eyes, which had once shone with divine radiance, were now filled with doubt.
"Why? Loki, we're brothers! How can you just stand by and watch me die?"
Thor's voice trembled with disappointment.
"My father is dead, Thor."
Loki's face showed a hint of sadness, trying to appear that he was very heartbroken.
He looked at Thor's face and found that the burly man's face showed no sadness, but rather calmness.
"Thor, your father is dead! What are you doing?"
"So what?"
Loki's expression was utterly horrified. He had just said that his father was dead, but this big oaf showed no sadness whatsoever, and even seemed indifferent. Was this really the Thor he knew?
"You, you"
Thor's cold expression left Loki speechless. What was wrong with his brother?
"Stop pretending, you mortal king, you won't fool me again!"
"W-what? What did you say? What, a mortal king?"
Loki was completely confused by Thor. Had his brother gone mad? He was such a big guy standing there, yet he was mistaking him for someone else.
"Thor, what are you saying? I am Loki, your brother, not some mortal king."
Loki tried to keep his voice calm, attempting to bring Thor out of this inexplicable fantasy.
Thor merely gave a cold laugh, a laugh filled with distrust and mockery.
"Enough, you mortal king! I've seen through your tricks. You just deceived me into believing my father was dead, and now you're trying to fool me by impersonating my brother? I won't fall for it again!"
Loki panicked; he couldn't believe what had happened to his brother.
"Thor, calm down and listen to me. Our father Odin has indeed passed away, and that is an unchangeable fact. As for me, I really am your brother Loki. I am not lying to you."
However, Thor just stared at him coldly, as if he were looking at a stranger.
