Chapter 52 Odin

"I am Thor, son of Odin! You mortals, release me at once!"

Thor roared in a makeshift interrogation room on the farm, his voice echoing between the cold walls. The electricity thief had finally received his just deserts.

"Even now, you still won't tell the truth?"

Nick Fury's veins bulged as he grabbed Thor's sleeve and roared at the man.

If it weren't for him, my life wouldn't be so difficult right now. Maybe in a few months, I could return to S.H.I.E.L.D. and become the commander of a superpowered unit!

"Mr. Fury, don't be impulsive."

Coulson grabbed his old boss to prevent him from killing the mentally ill patient in a fit of rage.

"This is the person the bureau chief specifically requested; if he's killed, we won't be able to explain ourselves."

Coulson's words were like a bucket of cold water, temporarily extinguishing Nick Fury's anger, but his sharp eyes remained fixed on Thor.

"Mortal, you're being far too petty. You're haggling over a cotton field for so long—are you even a man?"

"I'll show you what a real man is right now!"

Seeing this, Coulson quickly stopped him to prevent the black-haired man from doing something irrational in a moment of rage.

Even though he's been fired now, he used to work for S.H.I.E.L.D. If he were to go to court and be convicted of that kind of crime, I'd rather just shoot him right here and now.

"Mr. Fury, we are professionals, we can't get angry."

Upon seeing this, Thor curled up a cold smile, seemingly both disdainful and amused by Nick Fury's reaction.

"Mortal, your anger is childish. I, Thor, would never argue with you over a few cotton fields. What I seek is to protect the peace and tranquility of the Nine Realms."

Just a few cotton fields?

Nick Fury found it both funny and infuriating; this was just a spoiled brat who had no idea about the hardships of life.

And now, he finds himself completely helpless against this young master.

"Kid, you're lucky. If I were the bureau chief and you'd fallen into my hands, I'd stuff you in a tin can and throw you off thousands of meters in the air!"

"I'm so scared, mortal. Your threats are so weak."

"Bang!"

Another left hook landed, causing Thor's nose to bleed profusely.

Coulson didn't stop him, he just shook his head. This mental patient was really being a jerk, he just had to get beaten up to be happy.

"Coulson, he's yours now. Let Director Xia handle him. I can't do anything about it."

After finishing his sentence, Nick Fury let out a heavy sigh, as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders, and turned to leave the interrogation room.

"Mr. Fury, I understand."

Coulson responded, a complex emotion in his eyes. This mental patient was truly extraordinary; his former boss, once known as the King of Agents, had somehow been unable to handle him.

Is Fury's tooth already pulled, or is he just getting old, or perhaps both?

However, there is one thing that needs to be done with caution regarding this mentally ill patient.

"Mr. Thor, I hope you can be quiet for a while. It's better for both of us. Otherwise, I will report everything you've done to the chief, and you'll be in for it."

"Ha! Mortal! Even if you summon your king, he's just another mortal. I don't believe he can fear me, a warrior of Asgard!"

Thor's laughter echoed in the interrogation room, carrying an inexplicable confidence and arrogance, as if he were not in a predicament, but standing in an Asgardian palace, facing the reverence of countless subjects.

"Alright then, I hope you can still be just as tough then."

Coulson left those words behind, then turned and gestured for the agents to take him away and put him on their private plane.

The bureau chief has given instructions; this is a special prisoner, and we must expedite the transfer.

"Your son says that even if I, a mortal king, were to stand before him, he would not be afraid. What do you think of this, Mr. Odin?"

Xia Ling looked at the one-eyed old man standing in front of her with a smile. Yes, he was just standing there. He didn't know how to respect the elderly and care for the young. He just let him stand there.

"You jest, Your Majesty the God-King. My son Thor has been far too presumptuous. He..."

"Please don't mind. You are the God-King, and I am merely a humble king in this insignificant mortal realm. I am not worthy of such an honorific title."

A hint of helplessness flashed in Odin's single eye. Why did this god-king always like to nitpick at the weaknesses of his juniors?

In fact, after Xia Ling sent someone to bring Thor over, he immediately rushed here without stopping, not even having time to sleep.

There's no way around it; it may seem like he banished Thor, but in reality, it was just a carefully prepared trial.

However, once the god-king in front of them intervened, things completely changed.

Heaven knows what will become of his son under this god-king's control.

Let's just make sure Thor doesn't lose his life during the trial.

Despite being stronger than ever before in the final moments of my life.

However, if a fight were to break out, the outcome would be uncertain.

Even if he manages to win by sheer luck, he won't be able to kill this god-king. Once he dies, Asgard will be completely finished.

Not to mention, they might not even win.

"Your Majesty, I have come to negotiate terms with you."

"Oh, so you want to negotiate with me too. Wait, this sentence has appeared far too many times in this world, and it may appear countless more times in the future."

Tsk tsk, it's a shame such a classic line has become so overused.

Xia Ling stood up and walked slowly to Odin.

"Your Majesty, I would like to know your conditions. What are you willing to offer in exchange for my 'leniency' in dealing with Thor?"

Odin was silent for a moment, then spoke: "We in Asgard will recognize your legitimate rule over Mithgard, and we will establish an equal covenant between us."

And I taught Thor a lesson, made him realize his mistake, and made him kneel before you to apologize.

Finally, Asgard will share some of its technological data with Mithgard to promote technological exchange and cooperation between the two sides.

"That sounds good. Perhaps I should say yes?"

"You should agree; it's beneficial for both of us, a win-win situation."

"But I don't think so."

Xia Ling waved her hand, rejecting Odin's proposal.

"I can help you train Thor to become a more qualified king, and also help Asgard survive Ragnarok."

Odin was not pleased; such generous terms came at a price that was far from ordinary.

"What do you want from me?"

"It's very simple."

Xia Ling smiled slightly.

"I want you to serve me after you die."
