Chapter 17 Experiment

What does it mean to be utterly defeated?

That's what you call a complete defeat!

Tony had only one thought in mind when he arrived here. He had originally planned to come when he realized that the military was going to besiege Banner.

However, upon arriving here, they happened to witness Ross and Banner jointly besieging the military.

Faced with these burly men, Tony decisively chose not to see them. After collecting some mutated limbs, Tony quickly turned back to avoid being attacked by the monsters.

He's just arrogant, haughty, cocky, conceited, lecherous, and unreasonable; he's far from being stupid.

He had seen their fighting prowess firsthand; they had wiped out an entire army so easily. How could he possibly dare to take on these fierce men all by himself?

Of course, things might change if someone else sees it.

Moreover, seeing General Ross in this wretched state, Tony was basically certain of the authenticity of the bastard's power.

"Where is that Book of Revelation from Claeschi?"

Back in the lab, Tony pondered to himself that even with Jarvis's best efforts, they couldn't find a trace of the prophecy book.

If this book truly existed in history, it couldn't have been hidden so perfectly, leaving no trace behind.

The only thing related to it is that letter.

If Tony hadn't actually witnessed the chaotic power related to the prophecy in the letter today, he might have doubted the letter's authenticity.

"The power of chaos..."

Tony muttered to himself, his eyes gleaming with curiosity and wariness.

This force is far beyond the comprehension of current human technology. The message suggests that this force may be the source of destruction.

If it is not stopped in time, it could very well become a major factor in the destruction of the world.

However, if used properly, it may also hold unlimited potential and could perhaps be used to protect the world.

He stood in front of a huge holographic projection, the screen flashing with various complex data and images, which were key information he used to analyze the forces of chaos.

By studying samples of those mutated limbs, and using advanced gene sequencing technology and energy analyzers, we are attempting to unravel the nature of chaotic forces.

The idea was nice, but reality was cruel.

No matter how many instruments are used to study it, this power cannot be discovered, let alone the principle of how chaotic power works.

Tony frowned, the data and images before him seeming like an invisible wall, separating him from the truth of the chaotic forces.

With current technology, it is almost impossible to completely unveil the mystery of this force.

Rubbing his throbbing head, Tony left the lab and bumped into his personal secretary, Natalie.

When Natalie saw Tony emerge from the lab looking exhausted, she immediately went to greet him, holding a cup of his favorite specialty coffee, and said softly, "Mr. Stark, you look so tired, have some coffee to perk yourself up."

Tony took the coffee, took a sip, glanced gratefully at Natalie, then found a comfortable sofa to sit down, closed his eyes, and tried to relax his tense nerves for a moment.

Natalie stood to the side, seemingly tidying up the room, but her eyes were actually secretly observing Tony from time to time.

Natasha was originally tasked by Nick Fury to secretly investigate whether Tony was suitable to be a member of the Avengers. She infiltrated Stark Industries under the alias "Natalie Ruthman" to serve as Tony Stark's personal secretary.

Although Nick Fury has successfully fallen from power and gone to work illegally on a farm.

However, her mission was not canceled; instead, she was required to further monitor Tony Stark's recent activities.

Natasha remained noncommittal about the new director's tasks.

She had no impression of Xia Ling, since they had never met. However, she knew from Hawkeye, Hill, Coulson, and others that he was a good director.

Since these elite agents all say he's a good director, Natasha agrees.

After all, she betrayed the KGB, and if she were to be blacklisted by S.H.I.E.L.D. as well.

So, no matter how vast the world is, there is no place for her anymore.

Tony closed his eyes, enjoying this rare moment of peace, while Natalie carefully adjusted the lighting and temperature in the room to ensure he could rest comfortably.

"Mr. Stark, you seem to be under a lot of work pressure lately. Have you encountered any problems?" Natalie tried to start a conversation by making small talk.

Tony opened his eyes, looked at Natalie, and a complex emotion flashed in his eyes.

Although this personal secretary is beautiful, slim, gentle, understanding, and knows how to please Tony, he still misses the days when Pepper took care of him.

Although Pepper is inferior to Natalie in every way, Tony still likes her.

"Yes, I have been working on some tricky things lately."

Tony deliberately spoke vaguely, avoiding a direct mention of the Chaos Force.

Natasha's heart skipped a beat upon hearing this, but she maintained her composure and continued to press, "Oh? This power must be quite remarkable to warrant Mr. Stark's extensive research."

Tony chuckled and shook his head. "Impressive? Maybe. I'm trying to understand it now, but progress is slow."

Tony felt a headache coming on just thinking about his research.

He considered himself a genius and thought that nothing in this world could stump him.

But recently, one thing after another has left him at a loss as to where to begin.

The palladium used in the arc reactor on his chest had a toxic effect on his body, causing him to gradually die, and he had no way to stop it.

Then his research yielded no results whatsoever; he couldn't understand the principle behind this power at all.

The last book, the Book of Gorgias, was also nowhere to be found.

With limited time left, is it really possible to solve all of these problems one by one?

Tony's thoughts were like tangled threads; each knot he untied seemed to lead to even more entanglements.

He took a deep breath, trying to sort out his jumbled thoughts.

"Natalie, are you aware of the existence of the Book of Revelation?"

As if by some strange twist of fate, Tony blurted out those words, and immediately realized something was wrong as soon as he said them.

Natasha's eyes flashed with a barely perceptible surprise upon hearing this, but she quickly regained her composure. She gently shook her head and replied, "Mr. Stark, I haven't heard of the book 'The Book of the Apocalypse'. Is it part of your research project?"

"No, it's nothing. Forget what I said."

Tony immediately changed his tune, his eyes flashing strangely.

His appearance made Natasha seem thoughtful.
