Chapter 111 Banner, who was on guard

Chapter 111 Banner, who was on guard

In the wilderness camp, Banner stared intently at the burly man before him, not daring to relax for a moment.

Even though Banner felt this person was weaker than him, he still sensed a dangerous and repulsive aura about him.

"Isn't this Mr. Wilson? Or perhaps I should call you Kingpin? How did you end up joining the ranks of monsters?"

Ross watched the underworld tycoon before him with great interest. He didn't have Banner's intuition, but he could still sense the disgust emanating from Kingpin.

"Ross, do you know this gentleman?"

Although he loathed the burly man in front of him, the man had at least helped him and successfully reunited with Ross, allowing them to escape New York together.

Banner couldn't bring himself to kill his benefactor, so he decided to learn more about the other party first.

"Banner, this is a major capitalist and philanthropist in New York, the kingpin of Hell's Kitchen, the nemesis of street heroes, the Punisher's archenemy, the head of the New York mob, and the most muscular man in all of America!"

"Of course, you're not included."

Ross rattled off one Kingpin title after another, which made Banner realize who was sitting across from him.

So he was a thug.

"Mr. Kingpin, please tell me why you want to help me. If you have any ulterior motives, please speak frankly. Perhaps we can find a way to cooperate."

Banner didn't bother beating around the bush with Kingpin and went straight to the point.

If both parties share the same goal, then Banner wouldn't mind cooperating, especially since they just finished cooperating.

Another collaboration would be based on trust.

"Banner, you are indeed a smart man. The only reason I helped you was to seek revenge against the Church of Dagon and the Brotherhood of the King in Yellow."

My business has been tough ever since those two churches moved to New York.

Kingpin's lips curled into a barely perceptible smile as he explained his purpose to Banner: simple as revenge.

However, this objective failed to convince Banner.

"Mr. Kingpin, I don't want to say anything more, but where did you learn this magic? You're not some great being, are you?"

Banner narrowed his eyes and asked Kingpin directly about the source of his power.

If it is some kind of deity, then he needs to be extra careful. He himself is a believer of the Blood God, and he understands all too well the influence that deities have on believers.

No matter how nicely he speaks today, if the god behind him has a need, Kingpin could stab him in the back at any time.

Kingpin's eyes narrowed slightly upon hearing this, but he quickly regained his calm demeanor, as if Banner's question had not crossed his bottom line.

"Dr. Banner, your question is direct and sharp, but please allow me to maintain a bit of mystery. My power does not come from some high and mighty god, but from my endless desire and relentless pursuit of power."

In this world filled with darkness and chaos, I learned how to use all resources, including seemingly supernatural powers, to maintain my position and interests.

He paused, looking intently at Banner, and continued, "Moreover, the existence of both the Church of Dagon and the Brotherhood of the King in Yellow has threatened the balance of the entire city, and even the broader order."

As a part of this city, I have both the responsibility and the ability to stop them, and you, Dr. Banner, are equally powerful. I believe that by joining forces, we can more effectively combat these threats.

Kingpin's words were sincere, but what he said made Banner want to laugh.

"A threat to order? Mr. Kingpin, you're really joking. Compared to them, I pose a far greater threat to order than you can imagine."

If you're looking to maintain the existing order, you've come to the wrong person. I am the destroyer of everything, and all heads will be offered to the great Blood God!

After Banner finished speaking, he glanced at Kingpin again, trying to read something from his eyes.

However, Kingpin's gaze remained unchanged, still calmly watching him.

"Dr. Banner, please forgive my bluntness, but you and your party, well, let's call it the church for now, your power seems strong, but it is far from posing a threat."

At least, your threat to the existing order is far less than that of the Church of Dagon and the Brotherhood of the King in Yellow.

Ok?

This scoundrel must have lost his mind; he's blatantly lying through his teeth.

"Then tell me, how is our threat less than that of the Dagon Church and the Brotherhood of the King in Yellow?"

Banner thought this scoundrel had the makings of a jester, at least he was good at twisting the truth, but they didn't need jesters here.

"Dr. Banner, you and your church know nothing but killing. The only way to increase your membership is by coercing people with force and forcing them to join you."

Only a fool would willingly join you if you did this; all self-proclaimed righteous people would unite to overthrow you.

Therefore, your group will never grow strong or pose a threat; you'll only ever be good enough to be terrorists.

You're still a scoundrel!

After Kingpin finished speaking, a brief silence fell over the camp, and a subtle tension filled the air.

"Mr. Kingpin, so according to you, the Dagon Church and the Brotherhood of the King in Yellow aren't like that?"

Banner slowly opened his mouth and asked.

"Of course not."

Kingpin looked arrogantly at the two people present.

"They are far better at disguising themselves than you are. They package themselves as a benevolent group that saves and helps people. They stand on the moral high ground to numb the unsuspecting people."

Like a virus, it infiltrates, using the guise of morality to force others to outwardly agree with it, while secretly engaging in despicable acts.

Seeing that the two men's expressions had turned sour, Kingpin smiled knowingly and continued.

"If other people want to expose their hypocrisy, they will instruct the scoundrels they have already bribed to lead the charge and incite the uninformed people to fight for them."

After all, when people are well-fed, sympathizing with the weak is a subconscious instinct. So, by skillfully manipulating the situation and leveraging the power of various vulnerable groups, even the power of petty criminals, one can bring seemingly strong individuals to their doom!

"You are the seemingly strong ones. Have you felt the terrifying power of the weak? There will always be people who are used as pawns against you."

At this point, Kingpin looked at the two men with a hint of pity.

"That is why I need you, because you are unrestrained, lawless, and if properly configured."

This is precisely the necessary evil to defeat them!
