Forests Don't Support Idle Goblins
Chapter 166 It Really Exists
"There shouldn't be many people left." Mary closed the books on the counter and then glanced outside the alchemy workshop.
It was already dark, and there were hardly any pedestrians on the street. She tidied up the items on the counter, then looked at the medicine shelf behind her. "Mr. Salmu has already left port with the merchant ship and should arrive in Girth again soon. In that case, the honey reserves should be enough."
Previously, Charles sent her a notice instructing her to urge the blacksmith to expedite the production of a batch of armor and weapons, even if it meant paying extra. "Does this mean we're going to fight the enemy again?"
"Tomorrow, I'll have Jack urge the blacksmith to send a batch to the boss as soon as possible." She rearranged the potions on the shelf. Now, because of the buy-10-get-1-free promotion on healing potions, these adventurers have started to consciously form teams to buy them. Many people even buy them individually for themselves and then consume them slowly. Mary even heard that some adventurers accepted the mission of escorting the merchant guild's wagons and then came to the "Undying" alchemy workshop to buy many bottles of potions, and then transported them to their destination before selling them.
In John's words, "Adventurers have changed from hoping their teammates would drink themselves to death and then report the boss to hoping Miss Mary will live to be a hundred years old."
"Healing potions are in high demand now. Should we talk to the boss about having some 'promotion' on other potions too?" She picked up a rag and wiped the counter in front of her. Although she always tried her best to keep the shop clean, the adventurers would always have some dust and bloodstains on them, so Mary often had to clean the workshop.
"Ding-a-ling," the bell behind the door rang, and a middle-aged man wearing a black half-length cloak pushed the door open and walked in. "Great, I knew Miss Mary hadn't closed the door yet."
"I'm sorry, we're about to..." Mary said, looking up, but then quickly changed her words, "Mr. Herbert, it's a pleasure to see you again."
"I'm so sorry to bother you so late," Herbert said, removing his silk gloves and giving an elegant bow. His long, golden hair was casually tied behind his back.
"Um, it's nothing." Mary hesitated slightly, glancing outside; it was completely dark outside. "You've come so late, is there something you need?"
"There are indeed some things," Mr. Herbert smiled. "The medicine bottles you ordered have arrived at the docks. This is only the first batch. I would like to meet with your boss so I can discuss it with him in person."
"Um," Mary hesitated for a moment, "thank you for letting me know the bottles have been delivered. I'll have them transferred to the warehouse as soon as possible, but my boss isn't in Giesecke & Sorrow right now, so I might disappoint you."
She calmly walked to the counter, straightened her posture, and said, "If possible, I can sign for this batch of medicine bottles on behalf of the boss."
"No, beautiful Miss Mary," Herbert slowly shook his hand a few times, "there's been a slight problem with the 50,000 medicine bottles we signed. I need to see your boss and discuss the cooperation with him in person."
"Oh, is that so?" Mary opened her mouth slightly. She knew that Charles valued these potion bottles quite a bit. Healing potions were in high demand, and several skeleton warriors were helping to brew them. If there was a problem with the bottles, it might affect the potion production.
"I will pass on the message for you," she said immediately after thinking for a moment. She could only tell the boss the news first, and he would decide on the specifics.
“Okay,” Herbert glanced at the medicine shelf. “My contact address is still the same as before.”
"Moonlight Hotel, VIP Room 8?" Mary asked without thinking.
"Yes, you remember very well." Herbert tapped the counter lightly. "If there is a reply, please let me know immediately."
After saying goodbye to Mary, he pushed open the door and walked out of the "Undying Alchemy Workshop".
As he disappeared into the shadows of the night, Herbert glanced back at the workshop's sign, tapped his glove in his palm, and said slowly, "Goblin Boss, I hope you can help me."
Then, he quickly scanned his surroundings, and with a tearing motion, he transformed into a swarm of bats, silently flying into the night sky.
…………
"Whoosh, whoosh," the torches crackled in the forest night wind, and Sanba knelt respectfully on the ground, not daring to raise his head.
He had just told the earth spirit in the tent about his experiences and what he had seen, and was now awaiting General Evilthroat's judgment.
After he drove the shrew back, they traveled very quickly, thanks to the marks he had made earlier. The biggest problem on the way was that the shrew tried to resist several times. If he hadn't hit it hard with his stick repeatedly, it might have gotten away.
But it was all worth it. The wounds from the thorns still throbbed slightly, but the thought of the rewards to come filled him with an excited tremor. Latest chapter: High-energy plot! Come and read!
"Are those centaurs and goblins together?" General Evilthroat asked after a period of silence.
"Yes, General." Three Scars quickly replied, but the goblin's tone was unreadable, which puzzled him.
"Repeat what you saw again, this time slowly, and be more believable." General Evilthroat gently patted his black leather armor, pondering the goblin's report he had just heard.
Three-Scar once again reported everything he had secretly seen to the goblin in great detail, from the half-goblin to the centaurs, from the underground entrance that could hold many goblins to the huge ants that could help with tasks, from the unicorns wandering around in that vast open space to the herd of deer running and jumping around in their enclosure.
He explained it in great detail, adding his own interpretation, his disdain for these races, and his flattery of the earth goblins.
"I think they have no idea that they have been exposed. As long as you lead the army to launch a surprise attack, you will be able to wipe them out in one fell swoop." Three-Scar smiled obsequiously as he looked at General Evil Throat at the head of the table and began to imagine himself standing there, with goblins and ogres kneeling in front of him.
"You did a good job," General Evil Throat casually tossed a piece of meat onto the ground in front of Three Scars. "Go back to your burrow."
Three-Scar immediately grabbed the dark-colored piece of meat, gripped it tightly in his hand, and then backed away from the tent. He dared not look inside, but he could hear the goblins discussing what to do next and how many goblins to send.
"Almost done," he said, taking a big bite of the meat that General Evil Throat had thrown to him. The meat looked like a piece of venison, but it was obviously not of good quality and even had a strange taste. But Three Scars felt it was much better than the little bird he had eaten before. "It's all thin bones, there's hardly any meat at all."
"As long as the army gets through and gets these goblins to drink the holy water, victory will be within our grasp," he said, chewing on a piece of meat and arrogantly surveying the goblin heads sticking out of several burrows around him. "They're all skinny and don't look like they've ever had anything good to eat."
Just as he was about to return to the burrow, Scarface caught a glimpse of Greenskin talking to other goblins in the shadows. After he had driven Greenskin back, the goblins hadn't made things difficult for him; instead, they had simply kicked him back into the burrow.
At first, Sanba wanted to capture Qingpi as a safety decoy on the road so that he could escape if he encountered wild animals. He also wanted Qingpi to be a witness to prove that everything he said was true. However, on the way, he felt that he should be the one to take credit for this. He would only push Qingpi out when the general wanted to ask.
It seems the general now believes his words. "It seems the general still trusts me. As long as we win this battle, I will be the warlord from now on."
"Get out of the way, this is the warlord's position." He walked over arrogantly, kicked a goblin aside, then sat cross-legged on a bundle of weeds and began to devour the venison in front of the goblin, even deliberately smacking his lips and making various noises.
"You're about to have some good days ahead." Three-Scar glanced at the group of goblins huddled in the corner of the cave as he ate. They all raised their heads slightly, not daring to look him in the eye. Only Green-Skin ignored him, and when he saw the piece of meat in his hand, he sneered.
"Once the battle is over, I'll be the warlord, and you'll have your day." Three-Scar glared fiercely at Green Skin. He knew that if he rushed over now, he would be ganged up on by the other goblins.
As it grew later, Sanba had finished the piece of venison and fallen into a deep sleep, while Qingpi lay on the ground, staring blankly out of the cave. The bruises and wounds on his body made him feel that no position could avoid the pain, and at the same time, his experience in the fortress made it impossible for him to fall asleep.
"Venom," he said in a low voice, then glanced at Threescar, who was sleeping on the weeds. He had seen goblins in the fortress lying on beds, and although he didn't have a bed at the time, the chief had given him two furs, which were very warm.
"Greenskin," a goblin whispered, noticing Greenskin stir and then slowly inch closer. "Is that kind of smoked fish you mentioned really that delicious?"
"Hmm," Green Skin said, looking at the goblins slowly creeping around them. It seemed like none of them had slept much. "Not only do they have delicious food, but they also sleep in beds."
"What's a bed?" a goblin asked in a low voice, careful not to disturb the snoring Scarface or the goblin leading the patrol outside.
"It's just a wooden thing, so you don't have to sleep on the ground," Green Skin said quietly, looking at everyone. "And it has fur on it, so it's very warm."
These goblins huddled together, partly to get closer to hear what the green skin was saying, and partly to keep warm.
"Did those days really exist?" a goblin who looked like he wasn't even an adult yet asked, blinking.
"It exists," Qingpi said with certainty.
