The warehouse was dimly lit and filled with dust.

The team of eight infiltrated silently, all dressed in dark short-sleeved shirts with strips of cloth sewn by Chen Lanxiang tied around their arms. The leader was a man in his thirties, codenamed Old Chen, a skilled fighter sent by the Pingxi Guerrilla Force, with a scar on his face.

"According to the blueprints, split up and proceed!" Old Chen lowered his voice and made several hand gestures.

Two team members immediately crept towards two sentry posts in the corner of the warehouse, where a puppet soldier was dozing against the wall at each post. The team members moved quickly; one covered the soldier's mouth, while the other plunged a short knife into the sentry's ribs. The two sentries didn't even utter a sound before their bodies went limp and they were laid down in the shadows.

The rest of the group headed straight for their target.

The medicine storage area was in a locked iron cage, but that didn't stop them. One of the team members pulled out a pair of steel pliers from his pocket, and with a snap, the lock broke. Inside were a dozen or so wooden crates, marked with Japanese characters and the Red Cross.

"This is it! Move it!" Old Chen shouted in a low voice.

Another group rushed toward the pile of cotton cloth, which was military cotton cloth and a much-needed resource for the base area.

The operation proceeded exceptionally smoothly; the sounds of trucks loading and the shouts of the puppet soldiers outside conveniently masked the commotion inside the warehouse. The team members carried wooden crates and bolts of cloth to a ventilation opening in the back wall of the warehouse that Li Si had tampered with. Outside the ventilation opening, two mule carts were already waiting in the darkness.

He Yuzhu lay on the earthen slope, watching through binoculars. He saw the supplies being transported out piece by piece and breathed a sigh of relief.

But then, something unexpected happened.

A puppet army leader, carrying a pistol, annoyed that the soldiers loading the truck were taking too long. He kicked one of the soldiers while cursing and spitting, then impatiently walked into the warehouse.

"Damn it, stop dawdling! I'm going in to check!"

Two soldiers followed behind him.

He Yuzhu tensed up instantly. Inside the warehouse, Old Chen and his men were moving the last batch of medicine. They had no time to hide, and if they were discovered, they would be attacked from both sides, and the consequences would be unimaginable.

His mind raced; he couldn't issue a direct warning, as that would expose himself and the action team.

A signal is necessary!

Without hesitation, He Yuzhu pulled out a second specially made skyrocket from his pocket. This skyrocket had its gunpowder modified so that it would explode with a green light—a pre-designated emergency signal indicating a change in the situation and the need for immediate evacuation!

He quickly lit the fuse.

Whoosh!

A green firework bloomed eerily in the night sky.

The puppet soldiers at the warehouse entrance looked up and one of them laughed and cursed, "Which little bastard is setting off firecrackers again? The colors are pretty weird."

They just assumed someone was playing around.

But inside the warehouse, Old Chen's expression changed drastically upon seeing the green light. He immediately abandoned the remaining box of cotton cloth and growled, "Something's changed! Retreat!"

The team members immediately stopped moving the equipment and quickly retreated to the ventilation opening.

Almost at the same time, the puppet army leader pushed open the warehouse door while cursing.

"Where have they all gone? Where are they?!"

He immediately noticed the mostly empty warehouse and the two sentries lying in a pool of blood in the corner, which terrified him and made him sober up.

"Enemy... Enemy attack!!" he shouted, his voice distorted.

The two soldiers behind him were also terrified and frantically tried to pull the bolts of their rifles.

Old Chen glanced back at them; he was the last member to evacuate. He raised his hand and fired a shot—a pistol fitted with a makeshift silencer.

With a soft "poof".

A bloody hole appeared between the eyebrows of the puppet army leader, his expression of terror froze, and he fell straight backward.

Two bangs.

The other two team members also opened fire at the same time, taking care of the remaining two terrified soldiers.

Although the gunshots were not loud, they were very clear inside the warehouse, and the puppet troops outside finally reacted.

"Gunshots! Gunshots from the warehouse!"

"Quickly! Surround the warehouse!"

For a moment, chaos erupted outside.

The entire task force had withdrawn, and the two mule wagons, fully loaded with supplies, quickly disappeared into the darkness on the other side, heading away along a small road.

He Yuzhu breathed a sigh of relief when he saw through the binoculars that Lao Chen and the others had successfully escaped.

But just then, two plainclothes policemen finally rushed to the warehouse entrance from the car that was blocked by gasoline drums. Looking at the chaotic scene of the puppet troops, they immediately realized something serious had happened.

"Block all the roads! Hurry! They can't get far!" one of the policemen shouted, directing the panicked puppet troops.

The pursuit began.

He Yuzhu lay motionless on the earthen slope. He knew that the most dangerous moment had just begun. He had to leave silently while everyone's attention was focused on the pursuit.

He waited, listening as the distant gunshots and shouts faded into the distance. About ten minutes later, only a few puppet soldiers remained trembling near the warehouse.

He got up, brushed the dust off his clothes, put away his binoculars and slingshot, and silently slid down the slope, disappearing into the night.

Instead of going home, he headed towards another pre-arranged meeting point on the outskirts of the city.

The night wind brushed against his cheek, carrying a faint smell of blood. His eyes were calm, but deep within them lurked a murderous intent.

The warehouse matter is over.

Next, it's time to settle another score.

Yi Zhonghai.

The name flashed through his mind, and a murderous intent grew within him. He Yuzhu would never show mercy to such a hypocrite who willingly pushed his family into a fire. He had already devised a hundred ways to make Yi Zhonghai pay a heavy price for his stupidity and malice.
