Hong Kong film: Rise of Prison Break

Chapter 27 Letting the Breeze Out

Stanley Prison, exercise yard.

The afternoon sun was shining brightly, casting its rays on the dusty cement ground.

The prisoners, dressed in uniform, gathered in twos and threes, some squatting, some standing, talking quietly, or simply basking in the sun numbly.

But in one corner of the square, a peculiar scene unfolded.

Security chief Chung Chu-hsiung, dressed in a crisp uniform, was facing away from about twenty or thirty prisoners who were arranged in a fairly neat line, and was... making some kind of strange physical movement.

He moved his arms slowly, his body swayed slightly, his feet sometimes moving forward and sometimes backward, while he muttered incantations:

"Up up...down down...left left right right...right right...forward forward...backward backward..."

The movements looked a bit like Tai Chi, and a bit like calisthenics, but combined with his serious expression and strange rhythm, they appeared quite comical.

As for the effect... it didn't seem very obvious. At least in his own opinion, he didn't feel any "qi" or "strength" flowing through him.

This "Willow Swaying in the Wind Stick Technique" combined with the "Unique Power Circulation Technique" is indeed profound and difficult to master quickly.

However, Chung Chu-hsiung kept in mind Chang Wen-chieh's "teachings" and emphasized "constant self-cultivation and integration into life".

So now he seizes any free time to practice as if no one else is around, euphemistically calling it "supervising prisoners in beneficial group activities."

As he practiced, he seemed to sense something and suddenly turned around to face the group of prisoners with different expressions.

He cleared his throat, put his hands behind his back, and began to subtly make various hooking, picking, flicking, and plucking movements with his right fingers (supposedly in conjunction with a mental cultivation technique) while simultaneously giving instructions in rapid-fire speech:

"Attention, everyone! Listen to my commands! Forward! Backward! Left! Right! Jump! Crouch! Turn around!"

The prisoners looked at each other, but under the increasing pressure of Chung Cho-hung's "killer" aura, they could only act like a group of clumsy puppets, following the increasingly fast and chaotic commands.

"Hurry, hurry, hurry! Forward, backward, left, right, left, right! Jump, squat, jump, squat, turn around, and turn again!"

The commands became increasingly urgent, and the actions became increasingly complex.

The prisoners were in a chaotic frenzy, bumping into each other and stepping on each other, their movements completely out of sync with the rhythm.

Soon after, cries of "Ouch!" and "Thump!" filled the air. The barely formed line collapsed completely, and more than twenty people fell to the ground, their groans and curses faintly audible.

Chung Chu-hsiung, however, seemed oblivious, still immersed in his "cultivation," his fingers moving incessantly, and even a hint of "enlightenment" appearing on his face.

……

Stanley Prison, Warden's Office.

Warden Liang had just put down the phone, a relaxed smile on his face.

He strolled to the huge floor-to-ceiling windows and looked out at the outdoor exercise square in the distance.

I happened to see Chung Chu-hsiung "training" prisoners, which caused a bunch of prisoners to fall down.

Warden Liang was not angry at all; instead, he nodded in satisfaction, his smile deepening.

In his eyes, this was not nonsense, but a demonstration of "effective management", "creativity" and "ability to keep things in order".

These unruly prisoners need someone like Chung Chu-hsiung, who has the means and the courage to take action, to manage them.

"This Zhong Chuxiong is not only quite capable, but also handsome and full of energy..." Warden Liang stroked his chin, muttering to himself, "No wonder he caught the eye of my daughter, that arrogant girl. Hmm... perhaps we should give him more opportunities..."

……

Stanley Prison, underground level, special solitary confinement cell (black room).

He wasn't too concerned about the outside world's turmoil or how people judged him, Zhang Wenjie, at the moment, or rather, he had no interest in caring about it.

Even if you knew, it would just be the predictable sound of a piece being placed on the chessboard.

In name, he was severely punished and imprisoned in a dark and harsh "black room" for three months.

But in fact……

This so-called "black room" is less a punishment and more a fully equipped "single room".

The room was about ten square meters, with white-painted walls. Although it was a bit old, it was clean.

A single bed with a fairly soft mattress, a small table, and even a chair were placed beside the bed.

There was a lamp overhead, not very bright, but bright enough to read.

Most importantly—there was a 14-inch black and white television set in the corner!

Although only a few channels could be received and the signal was intermittent, it was a luxury in the depths of this prison.

There is an observation window on the door, but it is closed most of the time.

Three meals a day were delivered to us through the small food delivery slot under the door. Although they weren't particularly good, they were filling, and we could occasionally find a few pieces of meat.

Aside from the fact that you can't go out freely, this place is practically a "vacation home" in Stanley.

Zhang Wenjie was happy to have some peace and quiet.

He wasn't someone who liked to wander around, so having a relatively independent and undisturbed space would be perfect for him to do his own thing.

At this moment, he sat cross-legged on the bed, his eyes closed, but his mind was immersed in the "system" interface that only he could see.

On the interface, the number after "morality points" has become a four-digit number that makes him quite happy.

"One thousand and forty-eight points..." Zhang Wenjie's lips couldn't help but curl upwards, his smile growing wider and wider, almost reaching his ears. "Stanley... truly a blessed place!"

Through his previous "practice," he gained a clearer understanding of the rules for obtaining these so-called "moral points."

First, someone must have a clear "malicious intent" towards you (the system seems to have some kind of judgment mechanism).

Then, you can launch a "counterattack". If you successfully defeat your opponent, you will get a fixed "8 points".

If you hit harder, causing more serious injury or fear, there is a chance to get extra points, and there are even cases where you get more than 100 points in a single attack (such as the last few hits on Big Mimi).

This is probably the extra reward for "going all out".

These rules were practically tailor-made for him.

In this chaotic, dog-eat-dog prison, how can you expect someone to harbor ill will towards you?

too easy.

Being arrogant and taking advantage of others will naturally attract resentment; those with grudges like Da Mi will certainly not let it go easily.

He could even proactively conduct "entrapment" operations...

Besides the points acquisition feature, he also discovered another interesting function of the system.

In the lower left corner of the system window, there is a very small marker that flashes a faint red light from time to time.

When his attention is focused on that area, a simple prompt will appear: [Expand area exploration map?]

Driven by curiosity, he chose "yes".

A soft "buzz" sounded in my mind, and a light blue, simple-lined flat map unfolded.

In the center of the map, a green dot remains stationary, which should represent himself.
