Am I the only good person in this cultivation world?
Chapter 40 Fighting Two Heroes
Yao Han flew several miles away and rested for a while by a pond surrounded by trees.
Now that he is free from constraints and has nothing of great importance to do, there is no need for him to leave in a hurry.
The only truly crucial thing is to improve one's cultivation level.
So Yao Han decided to walk the rest of the journey, as he had been walking too fast before and hadn't really appreciated the scenery of Binghai Kingdom.
More importantly, walking among mortals is more conducive to him accumulating popularity, which helps him cultivate the Dragon Qi Prosperity Technique.
Having made up his mind, Yao Han set up the Wind Whispering Bewildering Array around himself, used the sky as his blanket and the ground as his mat, and fell asleep peacefully.
……
Two months passed after that departure.
Along the way, he saw many mountains and rivers, and also passed through many ordinary villages and towns.
While practicing martial arts, he also did a lot of things to help others in order to build up his popularity.
From then on, a legend was added to the Kingdom of Binghai:
There was once a wandering immortal who looked like a young boy. He helped the needy, was charitable and generous, and did many good deeds. He was known as the "Benevolent Immortal".
Yao Han remained noncommittal about the nickname that had inexplicably appeared on him. He didn't really consider himself a good-natured person; he was only doing these things for the sake of cultivation, a mutually beneficial arrangement.
However, the road ahead is not without its challenges, such as the present situation—
"You brat, a mere fourth-level Qi Refining cultivator, how dare you trespass into White Tiger Mountain? Do you even know our names?"
"If you're willing to hand over the storage bag yourself, we might spare your life!"
Yao Han was standing on a small hill when he was blocked by two men dressed as bullies.
These two, one at the fifth level of Qi Refining and the other at the seventh level, were both stout and robust, dressed in leather skirts and cloaks, clearly cultivators, yet they were dressed like mountain bandits.
"You're unlucky to have run into our Wang and Li duo. Why aren't you saying anything? Are you scared by that hammer in my hand? Hahaha, I bet you've never seen one before. This is a magical artifact!"
"Brother, why waste words with him? He's only at the fourth level of Qi Refining, just kill him!"
After saying that, the cultivator surnamed Li, who was at the fifth level of Qi Refining, picked up a curved sword and slashed at Yao Han's face with great imposing manner.
Yao Han sighed, and surprisingly stood still, his right fist clenched tightly and held horizontally in front of him—
Seeing that he only used his body to block, the cultivator surnamed Li chuckled strangely, "Overestimating yourself!"
With a downward slash of his curved blade, he sent a flurry of falling leaves flying as he struck Yao Han's right arm with astonishing force.
However, the scene of blood and flesh flying everywhere that the cultivator surnamed Li had anticipated did not happen.
He heard a loud "bang," his body jolted, his hand went numb, and he was thrown back with his knife, taking four or five steps before regaining his balance.
As for Yao Han, he simply withdrew his hand, looked down, and saw only a faint white mark on his arm. He nodded to himself.
Two months later, he had cultivated the Dragon Qi Prosperity Technique to the peak of the first level. His muscles, bones, skin and flesh had been refined, and ordinary low-grade magic weapons could not hurt him at all.
If compared to cultivators' levels, his physical strength is now equivalent to that of a cultivator at the fifth or sixth level of Qi Refining.
"Brother, this is tricky! This kid's strange; when I tried to cut his arm, it felt like I hit a rock!"
"A stone? Could it be that he's cultivated a body-refining technique, like the Golden Bell Shield or Iron Armor Technique?"
Yao Han raised an eyebrow, surprised:
"Oh? You've got quite a bit of knowledge."
"Hmph, you little brat, don't try to play tricks on us. Don't think we two brothers are pushovers!"
The seventh-level Qi Refining cultivator surnamed Wang jumped back, made a few hand seals, and the ground thudded beneath his feet as sharp shards of earth and stone pierced through the ground, heading straight for Yao Han.
The cultivator surnamed Li responded and leaped to Yao Han's left. His hand gestures became incredibly fast, and a blazing fireball quickly took shape, hurtling down towards Yao Han.
Yao Han narrowed his eyes. These two wild mountain men had far more combat experience than those pampered disciples in the sect. With the two of them working together, ordinary cultivators would probably have a hard time dealing with them.
Unfortunately, Yao Han was no ordinary cultivator; his over a hundred years of combat experience made him a formidable opponent.
He stretched out his left hand, and the black and white beads on his wrist glowed brightly under the infusion of magic power, instantly transforming into a yin-yang diagram in front of him.
The yin-yang fish swirled silently in the deep forest, blocking the fierce earth spikes that attacked, causing them to crumble and turn into sand scattered everywhere.
This earth spike technique was just a feint. After casting the spell, the Wang-surnamed cultivator swung his hammer and viciously smashed it towards Yao Han's face!
With hammer blows in front and fireballs from the left, Yao Han's eyes flashed, and he muttered a shout:
"Obuchi!"
The bracelet in her sleeve shone with a bright green light, and a blue-white spirit snake flew out. The snake opened its mouth and spat out a cloud of cold white mist. In just one glance, the fireball was melted by the cold air and the water vapor evaporated.
Xiao Yuan didn't stop moving, quickly becoming a streak of white light as he entangled with the cultivator surnamed Li. The latter was startled and threw out two or three water bullet talismans, engaging Xiao Yuan in a fierce battle.
Yao Han then clenched his fist with one hand, and a dark red bone whip appeared in his hand. With the infusion of magic power, golden light surged on the whip, and the red and yellow colors complemented each other, as if flames were flowing.
Yao Han gripped the whip tightly, put his hands behind his back, squatted down and spun around quickly. The long whip danced around his body, creating circles of afterimages, like a whirlwind and as powerful as flowing fire.
With the Shadow Whip protecting his body, the whip and hammer clashed, and with a swing and a swish, the giant hammer was sent flying. The cultivator surnamed Wang waved his hand and retrieved the hammer that had been sent flying far away. When he looked down, he saw a notch several inches long branded on the hammer, from which wisps of white smoke were rising.
His gaze was solemn as he looked at his companion fighting Xiao Yuan not far away, then at the whip in Yao Han's hand, his expression grave.
"A spirit beast, a precious pearl, and a top-tier magic artifact—it seems you're not just an ordinary Qi Refining cultivator; you must be a descendant of some powerful family!"
"Now that you've figured it out, why aren't you running?"
Yao Han held the whip in his hand and rubbed it.
"Run? We've been waiting in these mountains for so long, just for a big fish like you!"
The man licked his lips, slapped his hand on his storage bag, and summoned four talismans, which he then affixed to his legs and arms respectively.
"Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you have a top-tier magic weapon, kid. In this cultivation world, cultivation level is the ultimate measure of power! Today, I'll show you the true strength of Wang Mazi!"
Yao Han's eyes were sharp and piercing.
The legs have Pegasus symbols, and the arms have Might symbols!
The former accelerates, the latter amplifies; this Wang Mazi certainly has quite a lot on him.
Wang Mazi threw the sledgehammer in his hand to the ground, and then took out a four-foot-long sword that was entirely black. The sword had a faint aura of evil, and judging from the fluctuations of magical power, it should be a high-grade magic weapon.
Yao Han's expression became much more serious. He hadn't expected that this seemingly ordinary person would have so many tricks up his sleeve.
Delay will only lead to complications; we cannot afford to postpone it!
With a flick of his long whip, Yao Han leaped forward, choosing to take the initiative in the attack.
"Good timing!"
Wang Mazi held the knife in both hands, upright in front of his chest. The talismans on his body shimmered with spiritual light. With the enhancement of his magic power, he was like a wild bull, charging straight at Yao Han without any deviation.
He was incredibly fast; in the blink of an eye, he was already within arm's reach!
