Urgent! Major plot twist! Watch now!

"What's going on?!"

"Holy crap! How did it fall over?!"

"He's gone mad from practicing martial arts?!"

The surrounding trainees were startled by this sudden turn of events, stopping what they were doing and looking over with surprise and uncertainty. Yan Liang and Wang An, who were closest to the trainees, were startled and instinctively took a half step back, exchanging bewildered glances, none of them daring to step forward to check on the situation immediately.

"Quick! Go call the instructor!" Someone realized what was happening and ran towards the edge of the training field.

Before long, Guo Hui and Zhang Yong arrived quickly, their faces grave. Seeing Liao Xing lying motionless on the ground, Guo Hui's brows furrowed, his expression grim. He knelt down, checked Liao Xing's breathing, and felt his neck. Only after feeling a faint pulse did he breathe a slight sigh of relief, but his face remained somber.

"You lot," he said, pointing to Yan Liang, Wang An, and the others who were nearby, "lift him up and put him with Instructor Zhang!"

The group hurriedly lifted the unconscious Liao Xing and left with Zhang Yong.

Guo Hui remained where he was, his sharp gaze sweeping over the silent, trembling trainees: "Does anyone know what happened?"

Everyone shook their heads; most people genuinely didn't understand.

"Wu Sheng, what do you think is going on?" Mo Han leaned closer to Wu Sheng and asked in an almost inaudible voice.

Wu Sheng withdrew his gaze from where Liao Xing had fallen, his eyes narrowing slightly. He shook his head: "Who knows? Perhaps he really did twist his breath during practice."

Although he was focused on cultivation, he glanced at Liao Xing when he collapsed and noticed that Liao Xing's life force was almost depleted.

Others may not understand what causes this effect.

But he knew very well that there was nothing else besides the potential-enhancing drug.

That night.

Guo Hui's face was so gloomy it was almost dripping with water as he strode into the training field.

"Come here, all of you!" A loud shout sent a chill down everyone's spine. Clearly, the instructor was in a terrible mood.

The trainees didn't dare to delay and quickly gathered around.

Guo Hui's gaze swept over Yan Liang, Wang An, Zhang Lin, and the others like a knife, his voice icy: "You lot, explain yourself clearly what happened this afternoon!"

The group exchanged bewildered glances, stammering. They genuinely didn't know what had happened to Liao Xing; they had only seen him suddenly collapse.

"We...we don't know either..."

"You don't know?!" Guo Hui's anger flared instantly, his voice rising sharply and echoing across the empty training ground. "Whose extra potential-enhancing drug did Liao Xing take?! Huh?!"

His sharp gaze swept over the group, finally settling on Zhang Lin, whose face had turned pale: "You guys are usually closest to him, don't tell me you know nothing!"

Upon hearing about the potential-enhancing drug, Zhang Lin's expression changed.

He had a vague feeling that it might be because of the potential-enhancing drug, but hearing it with his own ears was still like a thunderbolt striking his heart.

Yan Liang and Wang An quickly distanced themselves from Zhang Lin and pointed at him.

Zhang Lin could only open his mouth, his face full of bitterness: "Mine."

Seeing Guo Hui glaring at him angrily, he quickly explained, "Liao Xing said he wanted to use my potential to break through his bottleneck, so I lent it to him."

Upon hearing this, Guo Hui's chest heaved with anger, and he pointed at Zhang Lin and began to curse.

"Didn't I tell you that you can only take one potential-enhancing drug a day? Did you ignore me?!"

"I'm telling you, this is a huge problem! According to regulations, any form of trading is not allowed during the development phase of potential-enhancing drugs!"

What you're doing now is already a taboo!

Seeing Guo Hui's attitude, Zhang Lin realized that things were not simple, and his face turned pale.

"Master Guo, what should we do? I really don't know, I only lent it to Liao Xing because he wanted to break through his bottleneck..."

After venting his emotions, Guo Hui stopped cursing and took a deep breath, saying, "What else can we do? There's nothing I can do about this. Let's wait for the higher-ups' decision."

After saying that, he turned to leave, but then stopped, looked back at Zhang Lin, and instructed him in a complicated tone, "Tomorrow morning, the Inner City Police Department might come to question you. When that happens, tell the truth, don't try anything clever, understand?"

Zhang Lin nodded repeatedly, his voice dry: "I...I understand..."

Guo Hui left, his voice heavy with unease. A moment of deathly silence fell over the training ground, followed by a murmur of discussion that spread like wildfire. Countless gazes, intentionally or unintentionally, swept over the isolated and helpless Zhang Lin, a mixture of curiosity, sympathy, schadenfreude, and indifferent detachment.

Yan Liang and Wang An had already quietly retreated a few steps, creating a noticeable distance between themselves and Zhang Lin. Wang An even curled his lip and let out a barely audible sneer.

Zhang Lin stood frozen in place, feeling the air around him grow icy cold, and the gazes from those around him like needles piercing his skin. A heavy sense of sorrow, a mixture of grievance, fear, and profound helplessness, weighed heavily on his heart.

Early the next morning.

Guo Hui and Zhang Yong arrived at the training ground again, followed by a man in a well-tailored suit, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, and exuding a refined air. Unlike Guo Hui's ruggedness and Zhang Yong's simplicity, this man radiated a unique, aloof, and precise aura characteristic of the inner city.

"This is a police inspector from the inner city," Guo Hui explained simply, his tone calmer than yesterday but still tense. "He will ask you some questions; just answer truthfully."

After saying that, he exchanged a glance with Zhang Yong, and then they turned and left the training ground together, seemingly to avoid suspicion.

The refined man's gaze swept calmly across the room, his tone gentle but lacking in warmth: "Who is Zhang Lin?"

Zhang Lin's heart skipped a beat, and he steeled himself to raise his hand: "...I am."

"Come with me, there are a few things I need to verify." The refined-looking man finished speaking and walked straight towards the door. Zhang Lin swallowed hard and followed him nervously under the complex gazes of the crowd.

As soon as they left, the training ground erupted in chaos.

"It's over, the inner city police are here. Zhang Lin is in big trouble this time!"

"Who knows... Hey Yan Liang, where did you take Liao Xing yesterday? How is he?"

Yan Liang shook his head, his expression also not good: "I don't know. We only carried him to the door of the infirmary, and we don't know what happened after that."

"To be honest, we can't entirely blame Zhang Lin for this. Liao Xing insisted on borrowing it himself. Potential-enhancing drugs are such precious things; who would be willing to lend them out?"

"That's what they say, but rules are rules. In the end, Zhang Lin might have to take the blame..."

Amidst the murmurs of the crowd, Zhang Lin returned. His face was still pale, but his eyes held a newfound bewilderment. The refined man simply asked him a few questions, his tone consistently calm, without intimidation or manipulation, as if confirming a routine matter. Yet, the more this was done, the more uncertain Zhang Lin felt.
