Becoming an Emperor Starting from the World of The Wandering Earth

Chapter 95 Enhancement Successful
Bare-chested, covered in sophisticated sensors and IV tubing.
Thin tubes hung down from the ceiling, connecting his back, waist, and arms, swaying gently with his movements.
At this moment, the figure was doing high-intensity strength training.
Each punch was accompanied by a deafening roar as it tore through the air.
The fist slammed into the hanging sandbag, sending the heavy sandbag soaring high into the air before being smashed back down by another fist.
The punch was so fast that the movement of the arm was almost invisible in the surveillance footage; only a blurry afterimage could be seen.
Sweat dripped from his bulging back muscles, evaporating into a thin white mist from the heat of his body.
Even though he had grown quite a bit taller than before, Murphy recognized him immediately as Wilson.
Murphy's face instantly darkened. "William, explain why Wilson was the first test subject?"
Dr. William swallowed hard and raised his hands in a gesture of calm.
"Sir, please let me explain. Wilson volunteered for the task. Three days ago, he came to me and, after learning in detail about the principles, procedures, and risks of the entire enhancement program, immediately requested to be the first test subject."
"I made it clear to him that the technology had only just been developed and had a 30% failure rate, and that he might even suffer a lifelong disability, but he insisted on being the first to do it."
Dr. William paused, then looked up at Murphy.
"He said that as the sharpest blade in your hand, he must possess the strength worthy of this loyalty from the very beginning. He also said that he firmly believes that you, sir, will not abandon him, and that even if something goes wrong, you will definitely find a way to bring him back."
Murphy's brow furrowed even more.
"He kept nagging me for two whole days," Dr. William continued. "In the end, Wilson even brought up the wartime emergency regulations, saying that as the Special Operations Chief Instructor appointed by you, you have the right to conduct pilot tests after a reasonable risk assessment when evaluating the potential of a new technology to significantly enhance overall combat effectiveness."
Murphy was silent for a few seconds, then cursed fiercely.
"Nonsense! A 30% failure rate, do you know what that means? It's a 30% chance of dying on the operating table, or becoming a lifeless, breathing pile of flesh. You just do whatever he says? He wants you to die, so why don't you go?"
Dr. William lowered his head, not daring to reply.
Murphy continued his tirade, his voice echoing in the observation room.
"I'm training warriors who can stand on their own, not suicide bombers! I need them to live, to thrive, not to sacrifice their lives to prove their loyalty!"
Just then, Wilson in the training field seemed to sense something, suddenly stopped his punching motion, turned around, and looked up at the one-way glass in the observation room.
Suddenly, a wide smile appeared on that face covered in sweat and rising heat.
He laughed openly, even with a hint of smugness, as if to say, "Sir, look, I didn't die, I succeeded."
Murphy stared at that smile, the words of curse stuck in his throat.
silence.
a long time.
Murphy took a deep breath. "Skynet."
"Yes, Master." A calm electronic voice came from the speaker on the wall.
"Initiate a comprehensive physical examination, targeting Wilson. I need every single data point on him right now: cell activity, nerve reflex speed, muscle fiber density, bone density, visceral load, genetic stability—everything you can measure, measure it all."
"Yes, Master, initiate full detection."
A thin beam of scanning light shot down from somewhere on the ceiling, pierced through the glass wall, and instantly enveloped Wilson in the training field.
Wilson stood still, letting the beam of light sweep over him, his face still bearing that nonchalant smile.
On the screen, the data started jumping wildly.
A series of numbers cascaded down like a waterfall, next to which was a real-time generated 3D human body model, with various colored dots flashing on the model, marking the status of each detection point.
Heart rate: 42 beats/minute; Blood pressure: 105/65 mmHg
Blood oxygen saturation: 99.8%
Muscle density: 1.32 g/cm3
Bone hardness: HV580
Nerve reflex speed: 0.08 seconds. Lines of data are scrolled through, finally settling on a line of white text.
"Comprehensive physical examination completed. Target Wilson, physical functions have surpassed human limits, all indicators are stable, no further developments."
Significant rejection or uncontrollable mutations were detected. Overall assessment: Enhancement successful.
The observation room was silent for a few seconds.
Murphy stared at the line of text, at the fluctuating numbers on the screen, and his expression finally softened.
Dr. William carefully observed his expression before tentatively speaking.
"Sir, look—the data is all good; Wilson really pulled through."
Murphy ignored him, staring at the figure in the training field.
In the training field, Wilson was still standing there, head tilted back, grinning, like a soldier waiting to be scolded but certain that he wouldn't be.
Murphy stared at that face for a few seconds, then suddenly turned around, pushed open the door of the observation room, and went down the stairs.
Dr. William opened his mouth as if to say something, but then obediently closed it again.
The side door of the training ground was pushed open, and Murphy strode in.
Upon seeing him, Wilson immediately dropped his cocky grin, stomped his heel, and called out, "Sir!"
Murphy didn't say anything, walked up to him, and looked him up and down.
His bare upper body was still dripping with sweat, but as he stood there, a powerful aura immediately rushed towards you.
"You've gotten more capable?" Murphy asked, but William's heart skipped a beat.
"A 30% failure rate, and you didn't even tell me before rushing in?"
Wilson blinked. "Sir, I—"
"What do you mean, 'what about me'?" Murphy interrupted him. "You're the head instructor, not a suicide squad. I need someone who can lead the team, train, and get people out there when I need them, not someone to risk their lives for drug trials!"
Wilson opened his mouth, then closed it again.
Murphy stared at him, his chest heaving twice, then suddenly raised his hand and punched Wilson hard in the chest.
"Bang!"
Murphy's fist slammed into that bulging pectoral muscle, the recoil making his wrist go numb.
Wilson remained standing in the same spot, without moving an inch.
He looked down at the spot where Murphy had just punched, then looked up and grinned.
"Sir, you need to hit him harder."
Wilson scratched the back of his head, a smug grin on his face. "That's less force than a mosquito bite."
Murphy paused for a moment, stared at his fist, then looked at Wilson's smug face, and suddenly laughed in anger.
"madman.
""
Murphy cursed, but the anger in his voice had already dissipated considerably.
