Today's test was another major failure.

The tremors underground quickly caught the man's attention. Before he could wake his three assistants, he frowned and hurriedly turned around and went downstairs.

The light bulbs in the basement were damaged by the fleshy tentacles earlier, and their brightness flickered, making it difficult to see clearly.

But no matter what, the disappearance of the central pillar of flesh and blood could not escape the man's notice.

"How is this possible..." The man stared blankly at the spot where the pillar of flesh had once stood, his face full of disbelief.

How could a ceremony he prepared for so long just vanish in the blink of an eye?

The next second, as the lights came on again, the man noticed You Yonghuai standing in the center.

With all his limbs intact, he was covered in blood and carefully picking away the bits of flesh left by the pillar of blood and flesh on his body.

"Yonghuai, that guy is back."

Si Xuanyin, who was helping You Yonghuai keep an eye on his surroundings, saw a figure in the distance and immediately spoke up to warn him.

When he looked up and saw that face filled with fear and dread, You Yonghuai didn't say a word. Instead, he pushed off with his legs and charged forward.

A heavy punch landed squarely on the man's face, the hard texture causing You Yonghuai's fist to ache.

You Yonghuai knew that the other party was a puppet and that the real body was not here. He only planned to remove its limbs first, or at the very least, make it unable to move.

However, unlike before, this time, the moment You Yonghuai's fist touched the man, a suction force automatically emerged from his palm.

A faint green glow was drawn from the man's body and slowly flowed into You Yonghuai's palm. The man tried to resist, but soon lost his face.

In the blink of an eye, the man turned back into his original doll form.

Just like what You Yonghuai had seen before.

[Remaining Health: 8000 → 8100]

A line of text appeared before his eyes. You Yonghuai was taken aback at first, but then he understood.

After subconsciously swallowing that source of life, I gained a portion of its power. Now, it seems I can also extract the life force of other people.

Is it because the source of life is still in an incomplete state?

You Yonghuai couldn't find the answer yet, but he was certain that if this ability were to activate on its own without his control, it would definitely cause a lot of trouble.

Picking up the doll beside him, You Yonghuai left the basement, his gaze falling on the three assistants standing to the side.

The rope had been cut short by the man, but fortunately, You Yonghuai's punch had been powerful enough to keep them from waking up.

After casually testing it on his three assistants, You Yonghuai roughly understood the specific conditions for absorbing life force:

The palm directly touches another person's body.

Of course, absorbing life force takes time, but You Yonghuai didn't know exactly how long it would take to drain a person dry.

After the experiment yielded results, You Yonghuai immediately released his assistants, since it was impossible to actually drain a person dry.

Anyway, it won't take too long to drain a person dry.

"I need to buy a pair of gloves..." You Yonghuai put his hands in his pockets, not intending to touch anyone before putting on the gloves.

Otherwise, what if they accidentally sucked someone dry and then exploded?

This kind of thing could not be kept from Ling Xiuqi, nor did You Yonghuai intend to hide it, and he quickly informed the other party of the situation.

"?"

In the chat interface, Ling Xiuqi typed a question mark.

After repeatedly confirming that You Yonghuai was not joking, Ling Xiuqi, standing in Wenjiang Middle School, remained silent for a long time before slowly typing a few words:

"That's good."

Afterwards, You Yonghuai contacted a policeman and asked him to drive over and pick him up.

If he carries three people and a doll back on foot, he'll probably be trending on social media tomorrow.

Especially now that he's covered in blood.

Back at the police station, after handing the four men over to Ye Qingchen, You Yonghuai applied to go home.

Anyway, there's nothing much going on for the time being, and Ling Xiuqi can search Wenjiang Middle School by himself, so Ye Qingchen naturally won't force him to stay.

No matter what, you should at least let them go back and change their clothes.

And it's getting late.

After returning home in the police car, You Yonghuai intended to go directly to Si Xuanyin's physical body to try and see if he could inject the life force of the Source of Life in reverse, but Si Xuanyin asked him to take a shower first.

After thoroughly washing his entire body, You Yonghuai finally obtained Si Xuanyin's permission to enter the guest room.

"No need to rush, it's fine for me to be a ghost for a while longer." Si Xuanyin floated to the side, speaking slowly and deliberately as if she were not the one who had lost her physical body.

You Yonghuai glanced at the spirit beside him and found it strange.

During the time that Si Xuanyin became his back spirit, You Yonghuai didn't see her really get anxious much.

Aside from any trouble You Yonghuai might encounter or her mother being mentioned, Si Xuanyin seemed to care about nothing else.

She didn't even seem to care whether she could regain her physical body.

In fact, apart from the occasional annoyance that she couldn't touch things, Si Xuanyin was quite satisfied with her current situation.

No need to work, no need to eat, no need to spend money, flying around every day, watching TV series when tired, life is very comfortable.

Most importantly, it was perfectly reasonable for her to stay by You Yonghuai's side the whole time.

Although he himself did not realize it, Si Xuanyin had actually been spying on You Yonghuai all along.

Including when You Yonghuai was taking a bath just now.

Quack, that's one of the advantages of being a soul!

The notebook he had previously obtained did not contain any related magic, so You Yonghuai could only fumble around on his own. Only if he had absolutely no other way would he consider asking Ling Xiuqi.

After swallowing the Source of Life, You Yonghuai's self-healing ability was greatly enhanced. Not only could he use his accumulated life force to regenerate severed limbs, but minor wounds could also heal in the blink of an eye.

However, this vitality is not entirely under You Yonghuai's control.

Rather, this is the normal situation.

Completely bewildered, You Yonghuai scratched his head and tried to cut open his arm.

The pain in his hand was fleeting; a few drops of blood had barely flowed from the wound before You Yonghuai lost all feeling.

The wound healed on its own.

After trying to put a few drops of blood into Si Xuanyin's mouth, a touch of color seemed to appear on the girl's pale body.

"Hmm? It seems to work." Si Xuanyin felt the connection with her body again.

Even the slightest trace demonstrates that You Yonghuai's method is effective.

Knowing it was effective, You Yonghuai, unafraid of pain, raised his arm above Si Xuanyin's mouth and delivered a stab.

A few drops of blood flowed out, and then the wound healed.

Another stab.

A few more drops of blood...

As You Yonghuai continued to modify the incision on his arm, he fed Si Xuanyin his blood, causing the life force accumulated by the "Source of Life" to decrease continuously.

At some point, Si Xuanyin's voice was no longer beside You Yonghuai.

[Remaining Health: 8100 → 6100]

After losing two thousand units of life force, Si Xuanyin's eyebrows trembled slightly on her rosy face.

The girl opened her eyes.

"Hehe." Si Xuanyin smiled and reached out to grasp You Yonghuai's hand.

"?" You Yonghuai was taken aback.

Idiot, why are you grabbing my hand?

You'll be sucked dry!
