Today's test was another major failure.

As clarity cleared before his eyes, You Yonghuai felt as if his five senses had become more acute, and something seemed to have appeared in his vision.

Wow, look! There's an eyeball in front of me that's bigger than a human head...

Wait, the eyeball?

When You Yonghuai's gaze met that pale purple, illusory eyeball, the latter suddenly trembled.

A few thin, wispy rays of light flowed from under his eyes and were precisely captured by You Yonghuai.

Strangely enough, You Yonghuai, whose eyesight is usually not very good and who often misses things, was able to immediately notice those almost invisible rays of light at this moment.

Immediately, my soul trembled.

As You Yonghuai's gaze fell upon You Guang, the seemingly tiny specks of light appeared to magnify hundreds of times, and the purple light instantly filled You Yonghuai's entire field of vision.

He seemed to see a constellation of stars.

A sharp pain erupted from the depths of his soul. In an instant, You Yonghuai felt as if countless hands were tearing at his soul, his consciousness was about to shatter into countless pieces, and his body became limp and unable to stand.

At the same time, distorted characters diffused from the light, as if they had their own life, constantly extending and changing.

Knowledge flowed into his mind.

[Mental health test: A score greater than 75 indicates a successful test]

In a daze, You Yonghuai saw two ten-sided dice spinning incessantly before him, leaving countless afterimages.

The excruciating pain made it almost impossible for him to think, but his intuition told him that if he failed this test, the consequences would likely be dire.

"Accumulated knowledge and experience yield results"—moderately increasing the success rate.

Test result: 64

The vision was both distinct and blurry, but the final numbers on the two ten-sided dice were perfectly clear.

With no time to think, You Yonghuai, enveloped in pain, had no time to react, but he saw that illusory eyeball narrow slightly, revealing an indescribable emotion in its eyes.

It's like—pity?

A deep purple stream of light then appeared, and the distorted form was surrounded by light, making it possible to only vaguely discern a shape similar to a palm beneath the light.

He touched the ten-sided die.

They touched the ten-sided die that even You Yonghuai himself could not touch.

You Yonghuai did not know who the owner of that hand was, but he instinctively felt awe and firmly believed that this person should be addressed as "He".

The red die representing the tens digit was gently picked up, turned, and then placed back on the ground.

Test result: 84

[Test successful!]

After doing all this, the purple light disappeared, along with the illusory eyeball.

Knowledge no longer floods my mind, the purple light in my vision gradually fades, and the excruciating pain in my soul remains, but it no longer intensifies.

Despite having countless questions in his mind, You Yonghuai was no longer able to speak—he had already fainted.

……

When You Yonghuai woke up again, he was greeted by an unfamiliar ceiling.

The pungent smell of disinfectant instantly made him realize where he was.

Despite being in excruciating pain before losing consciousness, when You Yonghuai opened his eyes, he felt no fatigue whatsoever, and even felt unusually excited.

The next second, as the text appeared on the panel, You Yonghuai realized the abnormality of his mental state:

[By directly confronting a part of the evil god "Dream Splitter," SAN value -30!]

Current SAN value: 25

"You're awake?" Ling Xiuqi, who was standing by his side, immediately asked with concern when he saw You Yonghuai open his eyes, "Are you feeling unwell anywhere?"

You Yonghuai shook his head, quickly sat up, and explained what he had just seen and heard with more excitement than usual.

After You Yonghuai fell to the ground, Si Xuanyin immediately flew out of the storage room to seek help from others, but it was only possible to see that the two people she was with were changing clothes, wasting more than ten minutes.

Fortunately, You Yonghuai's health is not seriously affected.

He just has some mental issues.

"It's alright, you should rest first." Ling Xiuqi patted You Yonghuai's shoulder, forcibly pressed him onto the bed, and said, "Your mind has been severely impacted. Getting some sleep will at least help you feel better."

You Yonghuai agreed with Ling Xiuqi's point of view deep down, but his body involuntarily wanted to get up, and his mind remained excited.

"Yonghuai, don't worry, you'll be fine after a good night's sleep." Si Xuanyin floated to the side, her eyes full of worry.

Upon hearing Si Xuanyin's voice, You Yonghuai pouted in dissatisfaction, but he didn't try to get out of bed again and obediently lay down on the hospital bed.

The combination of heightened excitement and a failed sleep test prevented You Yonghuai from falling asleep. In the end, Ling Xiuqi called a doctor, who gave him an anesthetic injection, and he finally collapsed.

……

When You Yonghuai woke up again, it was already the afternoon of the second day.

Sitting up in bed, You Yonghuai stretched and his spirits improved noticeably.

【SAN: 30 (99)】

After waking up, You Yonghuai's SAN value immediately recovered to 5 points.

It seems that sleep can indeed restore SAN values.

You Yonghuai was not puzzled as to why his previous sleep would not return—he suffered from insomnia until midnight every day, and when he got up he was sleepy but could not fall back asleep, which was like being tortured and did not serve the purpose of rest at all.

Given this situation, it's already good that the SAN didn't crash.

It's no exaggeration to say that this sleep, which was numbed by anesthesia, was the most comfortable sleep You Yonghuai had had in a long time.

While he was asleep, Ling Xiuqi kept a close watch on him to prevent any ghosts from targeting him.

Needless to say, Si Xuanyin's gaze never left You Yonghuai.

As for now, Ling Xiuqi, who had stayed up all night, saw that You Yonghuai had woken up and was no longer so excited, and finally succumbed to sleepiness and went to bed.

Si Xuanyin, who doesn't need sleep, asked about the specific situation and then, without further ado, told You Yonghuai to pass today's special test first.

[Mental check failed! SAN value +10]

In Si Xuanyin's opinion, 40 SAN points are far from enough.

If he accidentally glimpses something dirty again and loses 30 SAN points when he raises his hand, wouldn't You Yonghuai be close to going crazy?

What worries Si Xuanyin even more is that You Yonghuai can see those strange things, but she cannot.

In this way, she was unable to help You Yonghuai share his pain.

Feeling the extra knowledge in his mind, You Yonghuai was slightly stunned, and suddenly felt that losing so much SAN was not a problem.

This attitude infuriated Si Xuanyin.

How can you be so careless about your own body?

"Don't worry," You Yonghuai quickly reassured him, "Although I lost a lot of SAN after seeing that thing, a lot of knowledge also flowed in at the time."

"?" Si Xuanyin was still not satisfied and asked You Yonghuai to explain the details so she could make a judgment.
