Today's test was another major failure.

The potato chips, which transformed into arrows, spun around, guiding the two as they wandered around the campus. Before long, they found an iron gate that was almost completely integrated into the wall in a corner of the basketball court next to the playground.

The iron gate was painted with the exact same paint as the wall next to it, but with a tiny gap around it, the two of them almost missed it in the pitch black, even with the help of potato chips.

Ling Xiuqi tried every method he could think of to open the door, but to no avail.

A direct forced demolition might work, but he doesn't know the situation inside. What if there's something incredibly powerful hidden inside? Wouldn't that just be suicide?

Si Xuanyin wanted to fly in and take a look, but as soon as she reached her hand inside the door, she felt a blockage.

That's understandable; the lab knows Si Xuanyin's current state, so it would be strange if they weren't on guard.

"Looks like the door can't be opened from this side?" Ling Xiuqi squatted down, placed his palm against the crack in the door, and muttered a few words.

As the obscure syllables fell one by one, a very subtle breeze drifted from his palm and slowly passed through the crack in the door.

Then, Ling Xiuqi hid in the darkness to the side, his eyes closed, looking completely focused.

He seemed to be probing the situation inside.

You Yonghuai, of course, couldn't just stand by at the door, so he also found a place to hide and kept an eye on the iron gate.

While waiting for Ling Xiuqi, You Yonghuai thought of the crisis assessment that had just taken place.

He had only just begun to panic when the matter was already over.

It seems that as long as preparations are made in advance, even if the test fails, it can be resolved before the consequences of failure occur.

Of course, despite this, You Yonghuai felt that, at least in the short term, he had no way to avoid the consequences of failing the test.

There's nothing we can do but accept it.

After waiting a while longer, Ling Xiuqi opened his eyes, leaned closer with a serious expression, and said, "Let's go, the two of us can't beat them."

"What's going on?"

"This stronghold has a high spiritual content and seems to have many formations, making its defensive capabilities very strong."

If Ling Xiuqi were prepared, he wouldn't be afraid. But he was alone, and You Yonghuai was not yet a combatant, so it was impossible for him to rush forward recklessly.

Instead, he should avoid confrontation.

Besides, it's getting late, and if we stay on campus any longer, the students will be leaving school soon.

Afterwards, the two went home separately. By the time You Yonghuai got home, it was almost eleven o'clock. He had originally thought about not sleeping tonight and studying the thin book that Ling Xiuqi had given him, but he decided to give up after thinking about it.

He was afraid that if he encountered a sudden death test, he would die instantly.

After picking a TV series for Si Xuanyin, You Yonghuai spent another sleepless night as usual. The next morning, when You Yonghuai woke up, Si Xuanyin abandoned the TV series and floated over.

The two planned to conduct today's special examination first, and then study the thin book.

Today, they want to try to verify the [magical arts].

Because the physical attributes they possessed were sufficient for the time being, and now that they had a way to gain spirituality, they wanted to try to acquire more special abilities.

You Yonghuai goes without saying. Since Si Xuanyin came into contact with the extraordinary, she has only been learning alchemy all day long. She knows nothing about anything else. She is interested but has no time to learn.

Being able to watch over You Yonghuai could at least somewhat diminish her obsession.

[Spell check: A score greater than 31 indicates a successful check]

Test result: 32

[Check successful! Acquired the trait "Two birds with one stone"]

[A win-win situation: When increasing a stat, it can also increase a random related stat (this trait will only trigger once for all stat increases at the same time)]

"Why are you still raising stat monsters?" Si Xuanyin pouted, not very satisfied with it.

The traits are good, but they don't quite meet the expectations of the two people.

However, the successful inspection made You Yonghuai very happy. Afterwards, he put on disposable gloves and picked up the thin book with a napkin underneath.

After bringing the book back last night, his hands smelled of blood, and it took You Yonghuai a long time to wash it off. The book also didn't feel very good to the touch, so he didn't really want to touch it again.

On the blood-soaked cover of the book, a few large characters could still be vaguely discerned—Delsas's Notebook.

The two didn't pay attention to the unfamiliar name for the time being, but instead studied the contents of the book together and discussed its feasibility.

The contents of the journal are divided into four parts. The first part describes how to enhance one's spirituality through the human body; the second part records some flesh magic; and the third part includes some related materials and marks suitable locations for growth.

As for Part Four, You Yonghuai cannot see it yet.

Once his gaze fell upon this, You Yonghuai began to experience headaches and his vision would become blurred, making it impossible for him to read a single word. Even more strangely, Si Xuanyin, in her soul form, would encounter the same situation.

On the page preceding Part Four, there is a passage, perhaps written by the original owner of this notebook:

"The following content is extremely dangerous and not suitable for everyone to read, so I have placed a seal on it. Only those with sufficiently high spiritual insight can read what follows."

The two didn't care much. They figured that someone would definitely be able to read it after it was submitted, and as long as the content was presentable, it was only a matter of time before they found out.

All that needs to be done now is to elevate one's spirituality.

The methods for enhancing spirituality recorded in the notes are not difficult to implement; You Yonghuai can learn them after reading them a few times.

It's worth mentioning that, according to the notes, it's not just blood that can enhance spirituality; every part of the body can do it, just with different effects.

The more important the organ, the better the effect, and vice versa.

Blood is only average in this context; its real advantage lies in its large quantity, its ability to satisfy hunger, and its sustainability.

Even one's own physical body can be used to enhance one's spirituality.

However, You Yonghuai has no plans to do so for the time being.

Even if he wanted to use his own blood, Si Xuanyin would not agree.

If she really agreed, there's only one possibility—the situation is extremely urgent and Si Xuanyin's body has been reduced to ashes.

After drawing Si Xuanyin's blood and drawing patterns on his own body, You Yonghuai tried to enhance his spirituality according to the method in his notes.

However, relying on non-lethal doses of blood seemed to offer only limited improvement. After using two syringes of blood, familiar characters appeared before You Yonghuai:
