Strange Rules of the Game: Starting with Playing Little Grey Wolf!

Chapter 5: You must enter the village before dark.

Meanwhile, in the command center of the Dragon Kingdom's top leadership, a group of gray-haired experts stared at the black screen on the large screen, their brows furrowed.

"Sir, the technical department has analyzed it countless times, and there is only one conclusion."

A bespectacled technician reported in a trembling voice.

"The area where Su Mu is located, or rather Su Mu's state, has been shielded by the highest rules of this instance for some reason. This usually means... he has access to the instance's core secrets, or... he has become part of the instance."

The leader took a deep breath and tapped his fingers lightly on the table.

"If it's the latter... then this young man named Su Mu might be playing a grand game for us."

"Pass down the order: closely monitor the movements of all national athletes! Since we can't see Su Mu, let's use other people's eyes to find him!"

……

Inside the instance, the gates of Wolfsburg burst open.

Riding on Grey Wolf's neck, Su Mu finally saw the world in its entirety for the first time.

it's dark.

There is no moon here; instead, a huge, blood-red planet hangs in the sky, emitting an unsettling glow.

The grass on the grassland grew wildly, reaching half a person's height, swaying in the night wind like ghostly hands reaching towards the sky.

In the distance, a strange roar could be faintly heard, like that of a wild beast, or perhaps the noise of some kind of machinery in operation.

"Son, hold on tight!"

Grey Wolf let out a loud laugh, the sound echoing across the vast grassland, carrying a kingly arrogance.

Instead of running on all fours like a normal wild animal, he pulled out an exaggeratedly designed jetpack from the tattered backpack on his back and slung it over his shoulder.

"boom!"

Two blue flames shot out.

Su Mu felt a tremendous force pushing him, and the wolf instantly took to the air, rushing towards the sheep village at an extremely unscientific speed.

The wind whistled in his ears, and Su Mu gripped Grey Wolf's stiff fur tightly, but he was secretly overjoyed.

That's not a wolf! That's Iron Man!

"Dad, how are we going to catch those strange sheep?" Su Mu asked loudly.

Grey Wolf performed a difficult aerial somersault, dodging a mutated bat that was trying to attack them, and said smugly:

"Easy! Those idiots are probably still blocking the entrance to Sheep Village. That gate only opens during the day; at night it's a dead end!"

"and……"

Grey Wolf stuck out his tongue and licked his lips.

"That old bastard Slow Sheep installed a high-voltage electric fence on the door, hehe, we'll hide in the shadows and watch them get electrocuted, then go down and collect the proceeds!"

Su Mu nodded repeatedly as he listened.

Finding a bargain?

No, no, no, Dad, your perspective is too narrow.

I'm not only going to pick up the bargains, I'm going to add some extra ingredients to them.

Su Mu touched the spiked club hidden in the fur on his belly, his eyes gradually turning dangerous.

Dear foreign friends, are you ready to receive a warm welcome from the Dragon Kingdom?

......

Green grassland, outside the sheep village.

Night fell faster than anyone expected. Just moments ago, it was a hazy twilight, but in the blink of an eye, it was swallowed up by thick, inky darkness.

The temperature dropped sharply.

The once gentle breeze had turned bone-chillingly cold, feeling like countless tiny knives scraping against my skin.

The chosen ones gathered at the entrance of Sheep Village are now facing a massive psychological breakdown.

"Fuck! Why can't this door be opened?!"

John Smith, the American athlete, slammed his fist against the iron railing, causing rust to fall from it. His once-muscular physique trembled slightly from the cold and fear.

Behind him were a dozen or so chosen ones from different countries.

Some huddled together for warmth, while others, armed with makeshift weapons, warily watched the dark grass around them.

"Mr. Smith..."

A small, thin Indian athlete approached, trembling.

"The rules... the rules say that you must enter the village after dark, otherwise... otherwise you have to bury yourself."

"Bury my ass!"

John turned around and cursed viciously.

"That's a lie! Bury yourself up? Isn't that just turning you into a zombie? Use your pig brain!"

Although he said that, John was also feeling uneasy.

He glanced at the notice board next to him.

Rule 1: Sheep Village is an absolutely safe haven... The gates will only open during the day.

It's clearly no longer daytime now.

"Pleasant Goat! Open the door! I know you're in there!"

John shouted again into the gate.

Just a few minutes ago, they clearly saw that Pleasant Goat behind the door, saying that he wanted to answer a question.

In the blink of an eye, the sheep vanished, leaving behind only a chilling laugh.

"Ring ring ring..."

Suddenly, a clear and melodious bell sound, yet tinged with an eerie chill, rang out from the darkness.

Everyone froze instantly.

John suddenly drew his tactical knife, leaned against the iron gate, and stared intently in the direction from which the sound came.

"What is that?!"

The grass didn't sway, but the sound of the bell grew closer and closer, as if it were ringing directly in everyone's minds.

"ah--!"

At the edge of the crowd, a contestant from an unknown small country suddenly let out a scream.

Everyone turned around in horror and, by the faint starlight, witnessed a scene they would never forget.

Suddenly, the ground beneath the athlete's feet cracked open, and a thick, green vine covered in suckers and barbs burst forth, instantly wrapping around his ankle.

Before he could react, the vines suddenly contracted.

"Pfft!"

Blood splattered everywhere.

Before the contestant could even cry for help, he was dragged into the ground, leaving behind only a shocking pool of blood and a bottomless black hole.

"That's...that's a man-eating flower!"

Umekawa Kuko from the Sakura Country pushed up her glasses, her voice trembling but with a forced composure.

"I've read similar accounts; the plants on this grassland are all alive! Never stand on the soft ground at night!"

"Run to hard ground! The concrete ground near the gate!"

John roared and charged ahead to the only paved open space in front of the sheep village gate.

Seeing this, the others rushed over like madmen.

The once spacious open space instantly became extremely crowded.

"Get out of the way! This is my spot!"

"Don't push me! I'm going to fall out!"

The ugliness of human nature was laid bare at this moment. In order to survive, civilized people who usually spout benevolence and morality did not hesitate to push those around them to the brink of death.

All of this was observed by Su Mu, who was hiding in the grass hundreds of meters away.

"Tsk tsk tsk, so they're already fighting amongst themselves?"

Su Mu lay on Grey Wolf's back, holding a super long-distance spyglass invented by Grey Wolf and watching it with great interest.

While drooling, Grey Wolf adjusted a huge, heavy cannon-like weapon in his hand.

"My wife said she wants to eat roasted lamb chops tonight, but look at those strange lambs, they're too skinny, all bones."
