Reborn in 1985, starting from a machine factory
Chapter 34 Apology Letter
Chen Mo didn't linger downstairs for long. As soon as his father left, he returned to the mezzanine with the antenna materials.
The name "101 Antenna" is a name that circulates privately, implying that it is one in a hundred.
Its original name was a five-element Yagi antenna, which is mainly composed of aluminum tubes of varying lengths.
The entire antenna is divided into three parts: the main element, the reflector, and the director.
The signal is fed to the main oscillator by the director, while the reflector reflects clutter from other directions back, thus concentrating the signal to the maximum extent.
This antenna wasn't difficult to make; later, people could make it using things like aluminum cans, but now there are no finished products on the market.
Similar products are far less effective.
Moreover, this thing requires precision; those that are made by oneself, even a one-centimeter deviation can result in completely different products.
Chen Mo didn't rush to finish processing it all; he simply cut the aluminum tubes to the appropriate length.
Without the right tools, Chen Mo worked through most of the night before finally finishing this part of the work.
Next, we need a 1.5-meter-long wooden stick to secure these aluminum tubes one by one, but this task cannot be done on the partition.
The door to the mezzanine is too small; once assembled, it's impossible to get down.
Chen Mo had no choice but to give up. This matter could be delayed for a day or two. As long as Zhao Degui could handle things with the street office, there was a high probability that the matter would be resolved.
When Li Guihua has a permanent employment contract, her medical expenses will be reimbursed up to 90%, and the separate salary will help stabilize her family's situation.
We can still try to get a few more dividends from the remaining amount.
Most importantly, there is almost no risk involved.
Thinking about all this, Chen Mo felt a warmth in his heart. He lay in bed and fell into a deep sleep after a while.
The next morning, Chen Mo went down to the next floor.
Chen's father and Chen Gang were nowhere to be found; a bag and a half of white sugar lay on the table.
He poured a little into his palm, tasted it, and found it very sweet!
...
Beiyang Heavy Industry's early shift starts at 8:00 AM, and Chen Mo entered the workshop promptly at 7:50 AM.
When Song, the squad leader, saw Chen Mo, he showed a somewhat unnatural expression.
Most of the workers are from the surrounding area. The story of Chen Mo causing a scene in Heitu Village yesterday has been widely circulated.
Given the police's visit yesterday, there are all sorts of conflicting stories now.
Some say Chen Mo stole his grandparents' things, but the whole family didn't steal; it was just that his uncle and aunt were unwilling to let Chen Mo go.
Some say that Chen Mo's aunt was unhappy when she found out that he was about to be promoted, so she falsely accused him of stealing.
Some rumors are even more outrageous, claiming that Chen Mo planned to steal his grandparents' television, but it was too big to steal easily.
Then, they stole two watches, worth several hundred dollars.
My aunt and uncle were very magnanimous; once they realized it was someone on their side, they dropped the charges.
Chen Mo didn't hear any of this, and even if he had, he wouldn't have cared much.
That's how it is in the factory and among the people around it; if something happens, it spreads quickly, and there will be all sorts of different versions.
If you can't explain it, and it's even more difficult to make sense, the best way is to ignore it.
Secretary Liu, on the other hand, appeared at the workshop entrance right at eight o'clock.
He looked at Chen Mo with a smile in his eyes, but unlike his usual fake smile, this smile had a rather meaningful feel to it.
It made Chen Mo's heart tremble.
"Secretary Liu, what's up so early?" Chen Mo asked when he saw that Secretary Liu didn't speak.
"Wow, Chen Mo, you're famous now!"
"It's common for families to argue, but it's rare for the whole factory to know about it."
"Each person with an iron rod, beating the old, weak, sick, and disabled, smashing windows and doors—tsk tsk tsk, quite something!"
"Secretary Liu, please stop making fun of me. I had no choice." Chen Mo blushed.
"If there's nothing else, I'll get back to work. The maintenance period for these machines has expired, so let me see if I can do some simple maintenance."
"Alright, maintenance is important, but the factory manager has invited you to do it later!" Secretary Liu put away her smile.
"What does the factory manager want with me?" Chen Mo asked in a low voice as he walked out of the workshop.
Rumors can be devastating; it's hard to tell if this is a good or bad thing.
"You'll see when you get there!" Secretary Liu said in a low voice as well.
Chen Mo's heart was filled with unease.
"Knock knock knock!"
A short while later, the two arrived at the factory director's office, and Secretary Liu knocked on the door.
"Come in!"
Chen Mo walked into the office, which looked much the same as it had a few days ago.
The factory manager sat behind his mahogany desk, a document spread out in front of him.
Chen Mo glanced at it; the document was one he had written, titled "Production Early Warning Mechanism."
Seeing this, Chen Mo felt a little calmer; after all, it wasn't about the Black Soil Village incident.
"Factory Manager, Chen Mo has arrived!" Secretary Liu said, while simultaneously moving two chairs over and placing them in front of the desk.
"Sit down, Xiao Liu, you sit down too!" The factory manager pointed to a chair.
"Xiao Chen, this document was handed to you by Xiao Liu. I had Xiao Liu make several copies, as there are some aspects that still need to be discussed."
As the factory manager spoke, he handed Chen Mo a document, which Chen Mo carefully accepted.
The handwriting on the top sheet of paper was very strange, as if it were written by someone who doesn't write often.
Each character was so large that it almost extended beyond the grid, and the strokes almost tore through the paper.
Chen Mo glanced at it again, and his expression froze.
This isn't his manuscript at all; it's clearly someone's apology letter.
"Factory manager, did you get the wrong document?" He pulled out the two sheets of paper and handed them to the factory manager.
The factory manager didn't reach out to take it, but Secretary Liu turned around and said, "I didn't take the wrong one, Engineer Chen. Take a look at this letter first."
"Whose is this?" Chen Mo glanced at it a few times.
"Take a closer look." Secretary Liu said with a smile.
"The police came to investigate yesterday. It's their duty to protect the peace of the area. I believe you can understand that, Mr. Chen."
"However, the Security Department's failure to report and consult with leadership in a timely manner when it allowed personnel into the factory area in violation of regulations constitutes a dereliction of duty."
"This is Minister Sun's apology letter, but the factory manager believes he should apologize to you first."
"Engineer Chen, what do you think?"
Chen Mo could at least write some articles, and he could understand the language written on manuscript paper.
Between the lines, it is clear that Minister Sun was dissatisfied, yet had no choice but to bow his head in resentment.
He said the security department's duty was to protect the factory and root out the bad apples, and that there was no need to report this matter to anyone.
If the leaders believe they have done something wrong, then they should apologize.
As expected of the factory's notorious stubborn guy, these two pieces of paper are more important than the production early warning mechanism document.
Unfortunately, the factory manager handed these two pieces of paper to him.
The old fox's methods are truly sophisticated.
The moment I saw this letter, whatever I said would turn into me confronting this stubborn person.
If you say you won't care, Minister Sun won't appreciate it. He'll most likely say, "You, Chen Mo, don't deserve it!"
If they keep pressing the issue, the leaders will say that they are willing to let Minister Sun off the hook, but the aggrieved party won't budge.
good good!
Chen Mo quietly gripped the letter in his hand.
Of course, Secretary Liu also gave an answer: they hoped to settle the matter peacefully, as this would be most conducive to the stability of the factory.
Chen Mo placed the two pieces of paper together, then slowly shook his head: "Factory Director, actually Minister Sun doesn't need to apologize to me, and I don't deserve Minister Sun's apology."
"Cooperating with the local authorities is the responsibility and obligation of every comrade, and so am I."
"Regarding the security department, I have a few words to say, but I'm not sure if I should."
