I'm really good at this.

Two days later, in Los Angeles, a two-story building.

By the way, now a few gilded characters have been hung on the outside of the two-story building.

Honghu Film & Television Culture Communication Co., Ltd.

The knock-off has officially upgraded from a studio to a company.

Here, Zhang Hong met Lin Chuan again after a long time.

Compared to the meticulously styled slicked-back rich kid of the past, Lin Chuan has completely changed.

The original slicked-back hairstyle was completely neglected, and I wonder how many hairspray and wax manufacturers will go bankrupt because of it.

She swapped her tailored, high-end suit for a short-sleeved T-shirt and shorts, and wore ordinary sneakers.

His face was covered in stubble.

It emphasizes simplicity and unpretentiousness.

Seeing him like this, Zhang Hong dropped the cigarette he was holding.

He simply stomped it out, then picked it up and threw it into the ashtray: "What's wrong with you, Chuan? Where's your rich kid vibe? You need to pull that on!"

He needs to let this kid play himself in his future films, otherwise what's the point?

He's the kind of man who wants to "squeeze" every last bit of value out of Lin Chuan.

Lin Chuan smiled wryly: "Brother Hong, stop joking with me. What's the matter that you're in such a hurry to see me about?"

"Don't panic yet." Zhang Hong looked at the taciturn man next to Lin Chuan. "And who is this?"

Lin Chuan was taken aback. He found it strange. "Huh? You don't know Brother Hong? His name is Li Hua. He's a friend I recently met. He said you know him."

Li Hua... Zhang Hong sized up the man.

He had a stubble beard and a wild, unruly hairstyle.

It felt strangely familiar, but I couldn't quite place it.

"I'm sorry, it does look familiar, but I really can't remember it right now."

Zhang Hong looked at Li Hua with an apologetic smile. "Mr. Li, when did we meet before?"

Li Hua's eyes dimmed as he fell into memories. "That year at the Luocheng Film City, I was in the light, and you were in the shadows. At that time, just like now, only... our identities are different now."

"Oh?" Zhang Hong's interest was piqued. "What a coincidence! I wonder who Brother Li is...?"

Li Hua sighed deeply, then said something that Zhang Hong was very familiar with: "I'm just an unknown amateur director passing by, please don't remember me."

Zhang Hong suddenly jolted awake and remembered who this person was!

A scraggly, unruly beard, a wild and untamed hairstyle...

This person is none other than Director Li Hua, whom I met at the Los Angeles Film City not long after I transmigrated, the one who personally jumped on the male lead to give him acting instructions!

I've learned a lot from him!

"So it's Brother Li!" Zhang Hong immediately became much more enthusiastic. He stood up, sat down, and grabbed Li Hua's hand. "Brother Li, it wasn't an exaggeration when I said I learned a lot from you!"

Indeed, those who have talent but don't work hard have no future.

Truly successful people are those who are both talented and hardworking.

When everyone puts in the same amount of effort, that's when talent really comes into play.

Zhang Hong knew he had talent, but in order to make money, he also had to study hard.

The two directors he studied under were Li Hua and Liu Yishou.

He learned from Liu Yishou how to guide photographers in selecting shots and storyboards.

He learned how to direct actors from Li Hua.

To put it dramatically, without Li Hua and Liu Yishou, Zhang Hong wouldn't be where he is today!

Li Hua felt flattered, and then he smiled bitterly: "Director Zhang, don't joke around. Your achievements are far greater than mine, or rather, I could never achieve what you have in my entire life."

In the past year, Zhang Hong not only made money but also lost it all; he also experienced a lot.

Zhang Hong could tell he had a story, otherwise there was no reason for his personality to have changed.

Or perhaps this is his true personality, and the irritable guy on set is just a facade?

Is it because the director needs to have authority that he gets angry on set?

Zhang Hong handed Li Hua a cigarette and lit it for him. "Brother Li, tell me what's wrong. Maybe I can help you."

Li Hua sighed and began to talk about the past.

To be precise, it started a few months ago.

Unlike Zhang Hong, he was neither a prodigy nor a graduate of a prestigious film academy like the Beijing Film Academy.

He's actually a self-taught individual.

I've been in this industry since I was a teenager.

I started as a general errand boy at GG Company, then gradually worked my way up to become a graphic designer, and then worked my way up to the video department at GG.

A few years later, he became a director of adult films.

Within two years, he became a music video director.

He then connected with a TV series director and successfully joined the crew as an assistant director.

However, there are plenty of assistant directors in a film crew. If it's one of the director's own people, then you're the second director besides the director, and you can learn a lot from it.

If it's not important, then he's just a menial worker with the title of assistant director.

Unfortunately, Li Hua is the latter.

Several more years passed, and as he approached thirty, he finally caught the eye of a media company and was able to officially become a television drama director.

After filming two TV series that were profitable or even slightly profitable, he received a budget of tens of millions from that media company and was ready to make a big splash.

That is, the movie he was filming when Zhang Hong met him at Luocheng Film City.

A popular urban workplace romance drama featuring top-tier male and female stars.

As a result... it ran head-on into Zhang Hong's "Clouds Falling into the Mortal World" and was smashed to pieces.

However, thanks to the company's efforts, it was eventually successfully broadcast on satellite TV, only to coincide with the release of "Bloody Youth"...

On that ratings chart back then, his show was ranked fourteenth.

However, there was nothing that could be done about it, so he got the budget again to shoot a new film.

Although the budget wasn't as high as last time, he still took the filming very seriously.

This time, it's still his forte: urban workplace dramas, mainly about selling houses.

Then... it crashed into Mobile Suit Gundam.

As we all know, the market share is only so big. Some dramas have incredibly high ratings, which means that some dramas that were originally good may see their ratings plummet.

Especially those broadcast times that clash.

Unfortunately, this is exactly the case with the drama that Li Hua filmed.

Then the male lead in the drama was attacked on Weibo for cheating, which caused the ratings of the drama to plummet.

It was abruptly cut short on television.

Then they ended up in a situation where they wanted to find a video website to take over, but no one dared to buy it.

He also wanted to follow Zhang Hong's example and shoot a high-quality TV series with ten to twelve episodes, but now the company is giving him even less budget.

But he still tried his best to take the photos.

But halfway through filming, a big-name director suddenly took a liking to his script and contacted his company to adapt it into a forty-episode TV series.

As a result, he was kicked out of the game, and even the company terminated his contract.

At that time, he even thought about dying.

But after looking down from the window on the 24th floor, he chickened out.

Moreover, he is afraid of pain and faints at the sight of blood.

He then looked up the medication online and found that it would cause severe stomach pain and would likely require stomach pumping, resulting in further suffering. So he completely gave up on the idea.

Perhaps it's because he couldn't bear to part with the mobile game account he'd spent over 100,000 yuan on.

In short, he decided to go on a hiking trip in the desert to cleanse his soul.

There, he met Lin Chuan.

Unlucky people attract each other.

The two unlucky guys hit it off immediately and became friends.

It wasn't until Lin Chuan answered Zhang Hong's call that things changed.

Li Hua realized that he actually knew Zhang Hong!

It was only after watching "Bloody Youth" that Li Hua realized that the unknown person back then was actually Zhang Hong, the genius director who has recently become incredibly popular.

He shamelessly followed along.

Although he didn't know what he could do, he just came.

After listening to his story, the cigarette burned out completely.

Zhang Hong remained silent for a long time, increasingly feeling that his journey had been far too smooth.

Sure enough, good deeds are rewarded.

Especially for someone like myself who is talented, hardworking, and has a good personality, I am even more fortunate.

However, Li Hua was, after all, his "mentor," so it was only natural that he wanted to help him out.

I recalled the two future development directions that Lin Muqing mentioned at the meeting a few days ago.

Zhang Hong made up his mind; he would do it all!

He wanted to film a TV series that required almost no budget, but he only provided the script and storyboards. He handed over the directing job to Li Hua, and Lin Chuan played the lead role!

He himself was to "scam" the millions of dollars in support funds from the China Film and Television Association in order to try to make his first film!

It's not for box office success.

These kinds of TV movies are only broadcast on CCTV-6.

What he wants is to make a name for himself!

This is the only way to successfully break into the film industry!

Having sorted out the situation, Zhang Hong smiled and said, "I have a script here. I wonder if you, Brother Li, would be interested in directing it? By the way, the male lead is A-Chuan."

Li Hua and Lin Chuan were both stunned.

"Director? Me?"

"The male lead? Me?"

Seeing the incredulous looks on their faces, Zhang Hong shrugged: "Well, anyway, this is a workplace drama, which you should be quite good at, Brother Li."

Li Hua immediately got into character: "Director Zhang, what's the budget for this film?"

He'd accept anything as long as it's a few million!

This script was personally written by Zhang Hong, who won the Feitian Award for "Outstanding Editing"!

What is there to hesitate about?

Even if he's called shameless, he's determined to seize this opportunity!

Hearing his question, Zhang Hong smiled slightly: "The script is in my head, the actors are still undecided except for A-Chuan, you're the director, and the budget... is almost non-existent."

Li Hua: "......"

Lin Chuan: "..."

What's the point of filming then?!
