Zhunti's words precisely struck at Yuanshi Tianzun's sore spot.

So far, there are only three things that have been bothering him.

First, the Jie Sect was not destroyed; on the contrary, it flourished again during this great calamity.

Secondly, the disciples are truly disappointing. Dozens of eons have passed since the Great Tribulation of the Gods, yet not a single one has reached the Quasi-Saint realm.

Thirdly, there was that scoundrel Randeng, who, under the instigation of Zhunti, actually led his own disciple to join the Buddhist order, betraying his own sect and converting to Buddhism.

Of these three things, the first one is naturally the resurgence of the Jie Sect.

It should be noted that in the Investiture of the Gods, the Chan Sect was the victor, while the Jie Sect was the loser.

But now, the Chan Sect, which is clearly the victor, is in a state of utter despair. No matter how much they plot, they are in a state of half-dead.

This is practically a slap in the face to Yuanshi Tianzun!

If he had known earlier that the Chan Sect would end up like this, he wouldn't have had to pay such a terrible price during the Investiture of the Gods.

It can be said that the more prosperous the Jie Sect became, the more frustrated he felt.

Thinking of this, Yuanshi Tianzun decided to stop beating around the bush and get straight to the point: "I will not interfere with the eastward spread of Buddhism."

What conditions is your Buddhist sect willing to offer in exchange?

Upon hearing this, Zhunti was delighted and immediately smiled and said, "Heaven's way is impartial."

If our Buddhist community desires prosperity, calamities will inevitably befall us. By sweeping away karmic obstacles and causes, we can gain merit and good fortune.

"If Fellow Daoist Yuanshi is willing to lend a hand, this humble monk can exchange a meritorious act for it!"

Upon hearing Zhunti's conditions, Yuanshi Tianzun pondered for a moment before speaking: "Three merits!"

This is my bottom line. If you do not agree, and your attempt to spread Buddhism eastward will require a fight with me, and then we can discuss this further!

Although he was unwilling to see the Jie Sect prosper, Zhunti in front of him had taken quite a few good things from him.

Since they've come to us seeking help, we certainly won't let them off easily.

Meanwhile, just as Yuanshi Tianzun thought he was asking for an exorbitant amount, Zhunti was secretly overjoyed.

Giving up three merits is just a small matter. After all, Buddhism has eighty-one tribulations, which are equivalent to eighty-one merits.

However, he couldn't agree without hesitation right now, lest he arouse the suspicion of Yuan Shi in front of him.

Thinking of this, Zhunti's face immediately showed a troubled expression, and he said, "Fellow Daoist Yuanshi, the merits of our Buddhist sect are limited. Isn't this condition a bit too harsh...?"

Before Zhunti could finish speaking, he was interrupted by Yuanshi Tianzun, who said, "This is my bottom line."

If you agree, then it's easy to talk.

If you don't agree, then go back to where you came from!

Upon hearing this, Zhunti immediately looked distressed and said, "Amitabha, since you insist, I will grant your request."

I hope you will keep your word and lend a helping hand when Buddhism spreads eastward!

"Excellent! Then I await your good news, fellow Daoist!"

"I will not disappoint you, fellow Daoist. This humble monk will take his leave now!"

Zhunti and Yuanshi Tianzun were both very satisfied with each other.

With the Supreme Lord and the Primordial Heavenly Venerable won over, and the karmic debts owed to the Sage Nuwa have been repaid, the eastward spread of Buddhism is now unimpeded.

Even with Zhao Gongming blocking their way, he was ultimately only at the Quasi-Saint level.

Previously, due to various concerns, we were unable to do anything about it. However, if it dares to take action to stop the rise of Buddhism, it would be going against the will of Heaven.

At that time, they will have their own legitimate reasons.

They took action against Zhao Gongming and directly suppressed him.

There's no need to kill that bastard.

Suppressing him for dozens or hundreds of eons would be enough to make him suffer. By the time he emerges from seclusion, Buddhism will have already become the number one religion in the Three Realms!

Yuanshi Tianzun was also very satisfied.

With Buddhism flourishing, he was still able to plan three meritorious events for the Chan sect, which is already quite remarkable.

As for choosing the destiny of the Xuanmen (mystical sect), let's talk about that later.

With Buddhism flourishing, Taoism is destined to decline. It doesn't matter if he sells a little first; isn't the Taoist Ancestor betting on Zhao Gongming?

Let's see if Zhao Gongming can turn the tide!

After receiving a satisfactory answer from Yuanshi Tianzun, Zhunti immediately went to the Heavenly Court.

However, to his surprise, the negotiations with Haotian had already reached a stalemate as soon as they began.

"Sage Zhunti, I will not agree to this matter. I can sit idly by and watch as Buddhism flourishes."

However, if it is to sacrifice my own flour to help your Buddhist sect flourish, I am afraid I cannot agree!

Haotian's tone was somewhat annoyed.

Make me show fear of that stone body, so as to highlight its power.

You bald monk, you really dare to dream!

Do you really think that I, the Great Heavenly Venerable of the Three Realms, don't need to worry about anything?

If it were during the Investiture of the Gods, I might have given you some face. But now that the Sage is confined to the Three Realms, do you really think that I, the Great Heavenly Venerable, am just a figurehead?

Seeing the anger on Haotian's face, Zhunti smiled and said, "Amitabha, Great Heavenly Venerable, please hear this humble monk's conditions before making a decision, shall we?"

"Hmph, no matter what conditions your Buddhist sect proposes this time, I will not agree!"

"Hmph, no matter what conditions your Buddhist sect proposes this time, I will not agree!"

Haotian said angrily, "It's one thing to suffer the wrath of you saints during the Investiture of the Gods calamity."

Right now, for the sake of your Buddhist sect's plans, we have to put up with the wrath of a mere stone embryo. Even if you offer a top-grade innate spiritual treasure, there's absolutely no room for negotiation!

However, Zhunti spoke up on his own, saying, "If the Great Heavenly Venerable agrees to this humble monk's conditions..."

This humble monk can represent Buddhism and assist the Great Heavenly Venerable in completely seizing control of the Heavenly Court.

Furthermore, during each of those calamities, the Great Celestial Venerable would receive a share of the merit, and the pilgrims could also be given a place alongside the Great Celestial Venerable as attendants.

What is the Great Celestial Venerable's opinion?

Upon hearing Zhunti's conditions, Haotian's expression instinctively froze, and he looked at Zhunti in front of him with some disbelief.

When did this saint become so generous?

Putting aside the merits, the fact that Buddhism helped Haotian seize control of the Heavenly Court was enough to tempt him.

These three Eastern religions, especially the Jie Sect, have truly given him a headache.

The disciples of the Chan Sect were all arrogant and conceited, lacking in ability but possessing quite a temper.

The Humanist sect only has one Laozi. Others are saints with three corpses. Can he really control them?

As for the Jie Sect, it goes without saying. Zhao Gongming was simply too vengeful. Just for the dispute over seating at the Peach Banquet, he established the Black Emperor Law, forcibly taking away the power of the Heavenly Court. In addition, those Jie Sect disciples only respected Zhao Gongming, the Ziwei Emperor, and had no respect for him, the Heavenly Emperor.

If the Buddhist community supports me now, this matter might be worth taking the risk for.

What if the person in front of me, Zhunti, keeps his word?

With two sages as his backers, he, the Great Celestial Venerable, would be as solid as a rock, while Zhao Gongming, that fellow, would be unable to hold the line alone.

After some deliberation, Haotian finally agreed, saying, "I agree to this matter. I hope that Sage Zhunti will not go back on his word!"
