Chapter 117 The Power of the Time Element

Russell pulled his squeezed arm out, looked around, and saw Brad fiddling with a mechanical contraption.

"Do you guys sense anything is amiss?" Russell asked.

"Something's not right?" Evelyn, who was pinching and stretching Corlene's pretty pink face, paused for a moment, then shook her head.

"Uh, no," Clover mumbled.

"Lord Russell, have you made any discoveries?" Brad asked.

"It's nothing, let me double-check," Russell said, shaking his head thoughtfully.

Seeing that Russell didn't intend to say anything more, the other three didn't press him further. Instead, they focused their attention and began to survey their surroundings.

Kolef casually set up a witchcraft array to conduct the test.

The four of them used their own methods to confirm that there was nothing unusual nearby before they stopped.

Brad's mechanical creations have also been tested.

They began to head towards the heart of the wizard's ruins.

"I remember that the point at which I returned to the starting point was not far from where I left the starting point."

Soon, Russell walked past the places he remembered.

"No time travel occurred?"

Russell silently observed, "Or rather, there are many locations that can trigger time reversal, but there's a limit to the number of times. This location has already been triggered once, so it can't be triggered again."

"But none of the others have memories of time travel."

"Is it because of my royal soul?"

"Also, I can't be sure if this is the first time I've traveled back in time. It's possible that I found a preliminary solution during the last time I traveled back in time, which is why I retained the memories."

"We can only take it one step at a time for now."

Russell followed silently behind Brad as they walked.

No danger was encountered during the trip.

"Because these relics still contain source energy, any powerful life forms that have survived will gather in the place where the source energy is most concentrated, which is the core of the relics."

"In areas without energy sources, there are at most some ordinary creatures, which are not a threat."

As they walked, Evelyn explained to Russell.

Or rather, it was just casual conversation.

After all, Russell had read about this knowledge in relevant books.

But Evelyn's account also includes her extensive experience in exploring historical sites, which is not recorded in the book.

Therefore, Russell listened very attentively.

These are all pieces of advice from experienced elders; they might come in handy in the future.

Although the Wizard's Ruins were vast, all four of them were second-tier wizards, and they could travel quite quickly using magic.

Before long, they arrived at the heart of the wizard's ruins.

A small village full of everyday life.

"How could humans have survived and multiplied in these ruins, dating back to countless ancient times?"

Clover muttered to herself, then chuckled at her own ridiculous idea, shaking her head with a smile, "No, that doesn't make sense."

"Evelyn, are we under an illusion? Or something like a mirage?"

Evelyn, however, looked grave, her beautiful brows furrowing slightly, her eyes filled with disbelief.

Russell, with his superior mental abilities compared to others, also found nothing unusual.

He then used his soul power, but found that the result was still the same.

"No matter how you look at it, this is just an ordinary village."

After a moment of silence, Russell slowly said, "Perhaps the power of the element of time really can allow a village to continue from ancient times to the present."

"The element of time? Lord Russell, are you referring to the power of the long-lost higher element, the element of time?"

Brad's eyes lit up.

Before becoming an elemental body refiner, he was a pure elemental wizard.

He was naturally very familiar with the history of elemental wizards.

They also knew the turning point when elemental wizards went from prosperity to decline.

That means we've lost the means to perceive higher elements!

Nowadays, most elemental wizards can only master the four basic elements of earth, fire, water, and wind, or slightly different artificial elements.

Elemental wizards who lack higher-level elemental power are naturally inferior to other wizards and thus decline.

"If only we could master the power of the element of time..."

Of the four wizards present, only Brad was an elemental wizard, so he was naturally the most excited.

"Remember the question I asked you before? I said, 'Does this feel like something's off?'"

"Actually, at that time, I experienced, or rather we experienced, a time reversal, but only I retained a vague memory."

Russell said in a deep voice.

"Time reversed!" All three were startled.

"Did time reverse? I didn't even feel anything before."

Clover recalled the scene when Russell asked the question; it was when they first entered the Wizarding Ruins, and the surroundings were unfamiliar.

She jokingly asked Russell to protect her, which prompted Evelyn to come over and pinch her cheeks.

"No matter how I try to recall it, or how I examine myself with my mental power, I can't feel anything unusual." Evelyn even tried to find traces of time reversal on her body.

Even if the element of time is strong, it is still elemental power. If it is the effect of magic or witchcraft, then it will leave traces.

There is no such thing as time travel in the true sense.

Even the power of the time element can only change a small area, such as this wizard's ruins.

"I think you all remember the time it took from when we came in until we arrived here. Let's leave the ruins first, check if the timeline matches up, and then make our plans."

Brad suggested.

He always sought stability, and his suggestions were always mature and prudent.

Even when faced with the terrifyingly powerful force of time, Brad was still able to make choices.

Evelyn bit her red lips, reluctant to give up.

Wizarding relics are actually quite lenient towards younger wizards; if they sense the wizard's spiritual power, they will be allowed to explore them.

If an alien race were to enter, the simplest course of action for the Wizard's Ruins would be to kill them; in more serious cases, they would simply explode!

This is also why the fourth-tier wizards of the Wizarding Association allowed other wizards to enter the Wizarding Ruins.

As long as you are careful, there is no danger to your life.

However, when it comes to advanced elements like time, even if the wizard's relics don't target it excessively, it could still cause the wizard to die while exploring!

"Never mind, let's leave first."

Faced with the unknown power of time, Evelyn ultimately chose to give up and planned to leave the wizard's ruins.

The four of them returned to their original starting point via the same route.

The entrance and exit marked by the Relic Stone are located here.

Brad takes out a mechanical artifact and communicates with another mechanical artifact that has been placed outside beforehand, attempting to establish a connection between the wizarding world and the ruins.

After a while.

"I have some bad news for you."

Brad said with a bitter expression, "We may not be able to leave this wizard's ruins."
