Simultaneous Time Travel: What Villain? I'm the Protagonist!
Chapter 46 Inhuman!
On the icy plains, the resurrected figures joined up with the remnants of the allied forces; the air was still cold.
The Second Tsuchikage, Muto, slowly scanned the battlefield with his unfocused eyes—a block of ice hung in the sky, which upon closer inspection turned out to be a frozen fireball; the menacing creature beside it was a water dragon, now an ice sculpture; even the wind was frozen, standing there like a crooked ice pillar.
The entire battlefield was eerily quiet, with an inexplicable sense of oppression hanging in the air, making one's back tense.
"The Feathered Immortal Sect... the visualization technique... anyone can train chakra?" Wu's voice slipped through his fingers like sand. "So they dug us out of piles of corpses just to fight this—something close to the Sage of Six Paths?"
"The Sage of Six Paths?" The Third Raikage's lightning crackled as he stared intently at the white dot in the sky. "We'll see what happens after we've fought him!"
"A brute." The Second Kazekage, Shamon, frowned, twirling a small pinch of gold dust between his fingers. "Didn't you feel it? It's not a matter of quantity. His chakra... it seems to be a completely different thing from ours."
Hozuki Gengetsu of Kirigakure stroked his chin and chuckled, "Interesting. I've never encountered anything like this while I was alive."
The Gold and Silver Brothers, their eyes gleaming, weighed the ninja tools in their hands: "Who cares what their background is, just kill them! That chakra smells even better than a tailed beast!"
They've all died once, their eyesight is still sharp. They can't lie about what the battlefield looks like, or the expressions on the faces of those younger generation. The conclusion is already there—they're dealing with something that shouldn't exist in this world.
"Ha," Wu suddenly chuckled briefly, his cracked face turning to the crowd, "After being dead for so many years, to still be caught up in something like this, the tides of time indeed." The bitterness in his voice was gone, leaving only the cold, hard tone of the Second Tsuchikage.
"Since we're already here, and our opponent is this kind of thing, let's not say anything more, everyone—"
His gaze swept over the Third Raikage, over Shamon, and over familiar and unfamiliar faces. Those faces displayed a variety of expressions, but all burned with fighting spirit.
"Let's settle the scores from before we died. For now, let's lend a hand to the little light that's still burning in our respective villages."
"It should have been like this a long time ago!" the Third Raikage roared, his body almost blackened with lightning. Although his reanimated form couldn't unleash his full power, his fighting spirit remained undiminished.
The monk remained silent, but the rustling sound of the flowing gold dust around him suddenly became rapid.
"Water Release versus Ice Release," Hozuki Gengetsu licked his lips, his eyes gleaming, "I have to watch this show."
Kinkaku and Ginkaku grinned, and crimson chakra surged up like flames, while the ninja tools in their hands hummed and vibrated.
On the Allied side, seeing these people who only existed in legends step forward, their almost lost morale was forcibly pulled back a little.
Hiruzen Sarutobi let out a long breath, suppressing the complex nausea he felt towards the forbidden technique, and nodded slightly towards the Edo Tensei: "Thank you for your trouble, please be careful."
From above, Sheng Ren could see everything clearly below, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"Finished?" The voice wasn't loud, but it seemed to whisper in everyone's ear. "Then, let's begin."
The moment he finished speaking, he was gone.
"Get out of the way!" Wu's fierce shout exploded almost simultaneously, and the pale light of Dust Release instantly wove into a net in front of him.
boom!
Sheng Ren appeared to Wu's right and threw a punch. There was no wind-up, no stance, just a straight punch that distorted and deformed the air as it collided with the dust escape net.
Click.
The dust escape technique, which was said to be able to disintegrate everything, shattered like a thin layer of ice. Wu's impure body was blown away by the aftershock of the punch and shattered into pieces in mid-air.
"That speed...that brute force..." The paper reassembled, and Wu stared at his newly healed hand, his tone so deep it could drip water, "Back in the day, Madara Uchiha was probably only this strong, right?"
"Lightning Release: Hell Thrust - One-Shot Punch!"
The Third Raikage seized this fleeting opening. He concentrated all the strength and lightning release he could muster in his impure body onto his right index finger. The lightning at his fingertip was blindingly bright, and the surrounding air crackled. Without preparation or a running start, he transformed himself into a pure spear, plunging it towards Mori's back—a move that had once pierced the skin of the Eight-Tails.
Sheng Ren didn't even turn his head.
His left hand casually reached behind him, fingers spread, as if to catch something light and airy.
Buzz—Sizzle!
A piercing screeching sound tore through the air. The hand firmly grasped the lightning. The lightning, powerful enough to pierce a mountain, twisted and exploded in his palm, but couldn't break free, finally dimming like a extinguished cigarette butt. Along with it shattered, the Third Raikage's index finger, hailed as the strongest, also broke.
"The power is good," Sheng Ren said in a flat tone, as if he were talking about the weather, "but the way he uses the force is too rough."
After saying that, he flicked his wrist slightly.
The Third Raikage felt an unstoppable force surge up his arm, and like a stone thrown by a catapult, he became a blurry shadow, crashing heavily into a mountainside several miles away. With a deafening roar, half a cliff collapsed, sending dust billowing high into the air.
"Magnetic Escape·Alluvial Gold Realm Method!"
The monk's attack followed immediately. He wasn't one to waste opportunities. The dust of gold came alive, enveloping Shengren from all directions.
"Water Release: Water Gun Technique!"
Hozuki Gengetsu attacked simultaneously. His fingers moved so fast they were invisible, and one after another, compressed high-pressure water bullets shot out silently, faster than sound, with treacherous trajectories, specifically targeting joints, eyes, and throats. His water-style techniques were no longer about sheer volume of water.
"Kill him!"
Kinkaku and Ginkaku roared as they charged forward, brandishing ominous ninja tools. Their crimson chakra burned like fire, making them resemble two wild beasts that had gone all out.
The Kage-level fighters in the Allied Forces—Kakashi, Jiraiya, Killer Bee—suppressed their shock and formed hand seals once more. Fire dragons roared, wind blades howled, puppet joints creaked, and Sage Chakra hummed... All sorts of attacks converged into a torrent, crashing towards the white dot in the center of the battlefield.
Faced with this siege from different eras, a diverse array of forces that somehow managed to work together in dire straits, Sheng Ren's relaxed expression finally faded somewhat.
He casually made a sweeping motion in the air with his right index and middle fingers together.
"Immortal Technique: Wind Escape: Free and Unfettered Mysterious Gold Sword Wave".
There was no howling wind, no enormous blade shadows, only countless rays of light, as thin as hair, spreading from his fingertips. These rays intertwined and wove together, forming a net covering hundreds of meters in the blink of an eye.
Sizzle—sizzle—
The faint, almost inaudible cutting sounds rang out in rapid succession.
The sand-gold tentacles of the Shamen, harder than iron, shattered into metal powder the moment they touched the light net, falling down in a flurry.
Hozuki Gengetsu's high-pressure water bullets, capable of piercing iron plates, were precisely cleaved in two mid-air, turning into powerless splashes of water.
The momentum of the Gold Horn and Silver Horn charging forward suddenly came to a halt. Countless fine cracks burst open on their tailed beast cloaks, so deep that the bones could be seen. If it weren't for their impure bodies, they would probably be finished.
The torrent of ninjutsu unleashed by the allied forces—fireballs, wind blades, mud, and lightning—vanished silently upon hitting the pale blue net, like snow hitting red-hot iron, without even a proper commotion.
Shamon abruptly withdrew the remaining gold dust, his usually calm face finally changing color. "What kind of Wind Release is this? It's not cutting things... it's cutting 'chakra' itself?"
He had lived his entire life, studying ninjutsu and Magnet Release, and had never seen anything so bizarre. It wasn't based on brute force or elemental weaknesses; it was more like a higher-dimensional application of energy.
Shamon's words were like a stone thrown into stagnant water; the battlefield was so quiet you could hear the wind whistling through the icicles.
Just then, on the northern horizon, it looked as if something had been suddenly torn apart.
At first, it was just a small black dot in the clouds, like a drop of ink falling into clear water, slowly sinking. In the blink of an eye, the ink dot grew to the size of a rice bowl; after a few more breaths, everyone could see clearly—it was a huge rock falling rapidly, wrapped in a fiery red tail generated by friction with the atmosphere, which had already covered half of the sky in the blink of an eye.
"Oh no, get out of the way!" Someone shouted first, their voice distorted.
Before the words were finished, a deep, authoritative shout, like muffled thunder, rolled across the battlefield:
"The Heavenly Obstruction Star!"
The howling of falling meteors tore through the air, and shadows completely engulfed the earth. The allied ninjas scattered in panic, and even the reanimated warriors had to retreat temporarily, looking up at the apocalyptic scene.
In the center of the battlefield, Sheng Ren looked up at the oncoming apocalyptic flames. Instead of retreating, he slightly raised his chin. Behind him, the phantom of pale golden wings reappeared, each feather beginning to shimmer with iridescent light.
"Finally... something decent has arrived."
