A certain Hogwarts professor of runes

Chapter 100 Ginny's Testimony

About half an hour later, Felix stood up from his chair and walked over to the little wizard.

"Alright, little wizards, stop."

Everyone looked up, some with cold sweat dripping down their faces.

Felix glanced around. "Now, tell me how you feel."

"I found it very interesting, except for a few questions that were a bit strange," Luna said in her ethereal voice.

You mean—

"It's about some questions about the Forbidden Forest," Luna thought for a moment, "like, 'You came to the Forbidden Forest because you were playing, you heard a clicking sound, you turned around and saw a large claw covered in thick black hair, what would happen next?'"

"Oh, what's your answer?" Felix asked, adding the question on the spot.

"I chose 'Say hello to it,' Hi, Mr. Octopus Spider."

"Why didn't you choose to run away?" Felix asked her.

"But that's the second step," Luna replied seriously, while the other young wizards stared at her in shock.

Ron's eyes were bulging out.

"So, you think—" Felix said somewhat awkwardly, "If you encounter an eight-eyed giant spider in the Forbidden Forest, you should greet it first, and then turn around and run away."

Luna nodded, then added, "Actually, these two things can be done simultaneously, depending on how fast it catches up with you."

"Well, thank you for your reply, Miss Lovegood. But I don't recommend you do that. In fact, you shouldn't have trespassed into the Forbidden Forest, especially with a young wizard in tow."

His gaze fell on Ginny, who was clearly much more normal. She lowered her head sadly; this was her first time being confined since starting school.

"What other insights do others have?"

"Professor, George and I believe that the feedback on parchment needs to be more comprehensive. We just tested it, and currently there are only about twenty types."

"Oh? Go on," Felix asked with interest.

Fred seemed very excited. He couldn't wait to say, "Professor, besides words and simple drawings, we can also add some punishments, like spraying black gas, or even stinky juice..."

"You can also add sound. If you answer incorrectly, you can hear Professor Flitwick's voice: 'We are wizards, not curly-haired baboons waving clubs!'"

The last sentence was spoken by Fred imitating Flitwick's voice, and several of the less bright young wizards, such as Marcus and Ron, couldn't help but shudder.

"Anything else?"

"The text feedback is too gentle. The tone could be stronger, Professor. George and I can help with that." Fred was very interested in this kind of thing, and he eagerly offered himself to Felix.

"Hmm..." Felix imagined that if these suggestions were added, the young wizards would probably have a mental breakdown.

"The suggestions regarding sound are quite good; they have a chance of being implemented," Felix said, choosing the suggestion with the highest feasibility.

The atmosphere gradually became more lively.

"Professor, perhaps we can add a scoring system so we can see our level more clearly," said Eddie Camille, who always had excellent grades but always liked to try to be clever.

That makes sense.

"Professor Hyp, can we add our own names?" Ginny asked after a moment's hesitation.

"name?"

"It's at the beginning, you could write something like 'Welcome Ginny Weasley to the Quiz Space'..." Her voice trailed off, as if she were embarrassed, her cheeks and hair turning bright red.

"A very good suggestion."

"Professor, could we add logos for different colleges?"

"Professor, could you create a list of the highest-scoring students? Different departments could compete, like a college cup?"

"Professor, is it possible to see how other people answered the questions?"

"Professor, could you categorize the topics? Like ancient runes, history of magic, potions, herbs, general knowledge, and so on?"

……

The nine young wizards chattered amongst themselves, and eventually, they began to argue amongst themselves about which function was more important.

Felix's expression grew increasingly strange. All these features combined seemed somewhat like a knowledge-based game app from later generations.

Categories, quiz effects, leaderboards, friend options, competition mechanics, customizable skins...

But I just wanted to make a teaching aid for ancient magic script lessons.

Why would I need so many features? Besides, there's no guarantee they'll even work...

After thinking for a moment, Felix said, "Write down your ideas and try to refine them. I will selectively add them in. Mr. Ron Weasley, come with me for a moment."

Ron pointed to himself and received a clear response, so he followed Professor Hyp to a corner of the office.

"Weasley, tell me specifically about Lockhart's performance that night..."

About ten minutes later, Ron finished recounting his ordeal.

"Very good. I have already relayed the information to Headmaster Dumbledore. With the information you provided, Lockhart will soon receive the punishment he deserves."

"But before that, I must solemnly remind you, as I have also said to Miss Granger, not to contact Lockhart in private. If you sense any danger, immediately seek out any professor you can see."

"Was I clear enough?"

Ron looked at the stern-faced Professor Hyp, swallowed hard, and nodded repeatedly.

"Very good, you can go back now. While you're at it, please call your sister over for me."

"Ginny? What's wrong with her?" Ron asked with concern.

"It's just a few minor issues," Felix said, downplaying the problem.

Soon, Ginny Weasley approached him, looking rather reserved.

"Hello, Miss Weasley. We've met a few times before, but this is our first proper introduction."

"Hello, Professor Hep."

"Let's get straight to the point. I'd like to know where you got this diary from?"

Ginny looked up in shock, her eyes wide. "Professor, what did you say?"

Felix looked calmly into her eyes: "We've met a few times before, like near Hagrid's hut, like near the girls' washroom. Do I need to explain anything more?"

He didn't mention the most crucial piece of evidence, which was information provided by Luna, so as not to affect their friendship.

Ginny's lips moved as if she wanted to say something, and Felix waited quietly.

About a minute later—

Tears welled in her bright brown eyes, but she finally mustered the courage to confess: "Professor, I don't know... I was just writing in it, that diary, it, it really has something to do with the locked room?"

"You know nothing about this?"

"I don't know. At first, I was just writing in my diary, and it responded to me. It was very helpful and gave me advice. Later, I started losing memories for periods of time, and it just so happened that the attack happened around that time."

"Later, the professors emphasized in class that we shouldn't believe in black magic items, and Fred and George said so too, so I... I threw it away."

She recounted her experience while sobbing.

Felix nodded and comforted Ginny, "Young wizards are always easily fooled. If you encounter similar problems in the future, you can seek help from a professor you trust. There's nothing shameful about it."

"Believe me, what seems like a difficult problem to you is often quite simple for a professor."

Ginny nodded gently, and said quickly, "Thank you, Professor Hyp."

"So, let's go back to the original question. Do you remember where you got the diary from?" Felix asked.

"I...I don't know. I thought my mother gave it to me, but it might not be."

"I think you must have noticed something unusual?"

"Mom wouldn't tuck that diary inside the new book I bought."

"A new book? Was it the day you went shopping in Diagon Alley?"

"Yes, it happened to be Professor Lockhart's book signing that day. He gave Harry the whole set of his new books, and Harry gave them to me. That's when I found the diary."

Lockhart and Porter... perhaps it's a coincidence.

Felix paused for a moment, then continued, "Do you remember what happened that day? Who could have touched your bag?"

"That day, our family went shopping in Diagon Alley, oh, and Harry too, he was staying at the Burrow for the holidays, and his relatives weren't treating him very well... We ran into Hermione's family along the way. We parted ways at the bank, and my mother took me to buy a robe and a wand, then we went to buy books, and at Professor Lockhart's book signing, my father even got into a fight with Malfoy..."

Felix stopped her in her tracks. "Malfoy? Lucius Malfoy?"

"Yes, he has a very bad relationship with his father," Ginny said softly.

"Let's talk about this in detail..." Felix said calmly.
