Dragon Raja: Reboot

Chapter 64 The Holy Grail

Morgan first appeared in Geoffrey's "The Life of King Arthur" in the 13th century.

"In the original version, Morgan was a fairy who lived on the island of Avalon."

"But as time progressed, by the late Middle Ages, witchcraft became a target of hatred in Europe. People who practiced witchcraft were considered evil, even fictional characters in novels."

"From here on, in the new Arthurian legend, Morgan began to be transformed into the image of a 'wicked woman,' and in Thomas Malory's Le Morte, Morgan became a symbol of evil."

Xia Mi spread her hands towards the two of them and said,

"Don't look at me like that. I only went to find out about it a few days ago after listening to what Senior Brother Lu said."

Lu Mingfei gave a thumbs up, expressing his high approval of the girl's awareness.

Chu Zihang pondered for a moment and said, "Merlin guided Arthur to obtain the holy sword Excalibur from the Lady of the Lake. Was this Lady of the Lake Morgan herself? If so, was there some kind of deal between Merlin and Morgan? As a human alchemist, why would Merlin raise King Arthur, who is suspected to be a first-generation dragon, or was Merlin himself a pure-blooded dragon?"

Lu Mingfei quickly called for a halt, saying with a headache, "Stop, stop! Senior brother, you've got the wrong idea. This isn't today's lecture!"

Chu Zihang then remembered that tonight's theme wasn't Morgan and Merlin, but King Arthur, Odin, and... Morgan!

"Let's assume King Arthur was also a pure-blooded dragon, and one of the earliest dragons. Then what is his connection to Odin?"

Xia Mi rested her chin on her hand, gazing at the ceiling in thought.

Chu Zihang said in a low voice, "Junior brother just told two stories. We've been discussing the first one so far. The focus now is on the second one."

"I know, but where do we start with this story? Morgan?" Xia Mi wrinkled her nose and asked.

"The protagonists of these two stories are King Arthur and Odin, but only Morgan plays the same role in both," Chu Zihang said slowly. "Actually, King Arthur and Odin are not without similarities. King Arthur also has the title of 'Eternal King,' while Odin wields the eternal spear Gungnir."

"But... that's too far-fetched," Chu Zihang shook his head again, "and Morgan himself doesn't have many points to explore."

"If King Arthur was truly the first race, and Morgan Arthur was another king on the throne, then what about Odin? What role does he play in all of this? The king of the Aesir gods?"

In fact, both Chu Zihang and Xia Mi were very clear about one thing—everything they were discussing was based on the extraction of information from these myths and legends.

Over the long course of time, these myths and legends have evolved into numerous versions, incorporating later generations' imaginations, political considerations, or the needs of cultural integration...

They extracted some useful information from these legends, discarded the useless and contradictory ones, and tried to construct new legends that they could accept and recognize.

However, for certain special reasons, they all overlooked this point.

As long as no one explicitly voices their opposition, they will continue to fabricate stories until a complete narrative is formed.

In a sense, they are like King Arthur, searching for the right answer under the guidance of Merlin.

"I suddenly thought of something!"

Xia Mi suddenly grabbed Chu Zihang's arm, her expression excited,

After defeating the Roman Empire, King Arthur was crowned king and commanded over 150 Knights of the Round Table. However, for some reason, these Knights gradually left the empire. Some did so voluntarily, while others were ordered by King Arthur, to search for a certain treasure. What were they searching for?

The carriage fell silent instantly.

"The Holy Grail!" Chu Zihang's eyes lit up, and he uttered the word slowly and deliberately.

"The Arthurian legend is a product of multicultural fusion. If the Holy Grail is a later integration of religious culture, then it must have a prototype. What is this prototype?" Xia Mi whispered.

Their eyes all fell on Lu Mingfei.

It seems that at this moment, only Lu Mingfei can give them the answer.

Lu Mingfei was taken aback, thinking to himself, "Why are you all looking at me like that? You actually asked the proctor for the answers during the exam, didn't you!"

"In many legends, if one finds the Holy Grail and drinks the water it has contained, the drinker will be rejuvenated or resurrected and gain eternal life."

Xia Mi looked at Chu Zihang and said quietly,

Does this sound familiar?

Chu Zihang's pupils constricted sharply, and he gasped, "The second story! Odin received a golden ring from Morgan, and from then on, he remained forever young and immortal!"

It matches up!

They found the breakthrough!

"Remember what I just said? In the original version, Morgan was a fairy living on Avalon. She wasn't portrayed as King Arthur's sister, nor was she a 'wicked woman' who tried to kill him. She simply happened to encounter the injured King Arthur and offered him a helping hand!"

Xia Mi shouted loudly,

"King Arthur and Morgan were not twins. Like Odin, King Arthur received a similar gift from Morgan! And afterwards, he searched for something!"

"It's the Holy Grail!" Chu Zihang quickly replied, his brain racing, countless sparks of inspiration flashing through his mind.

"He mobilized his knights to help him search for the Holy Grail, but what exactly is the Holy Grail? Power and strength? Eternal life? Immortal youth, or...?"

He suddenly stared intently at Xia Mi, his pupils seemingly burning with fire, and Xia Mi's pupils also shone brightly.

They uttered three words in unison—

"The Jade Record!"

They reached an agreement in that hotel in Chicago: The Emerald Book tells the secret of how a hybrid can evolve into a pure-blooded dragon!

Ascending to the pure-blooded dragon race as a hybrid means that power, strength, eternal life, and immortal youth will all be within easy reach!

"Odin is not a pure-blooded dragon! He rose to become a pure-blooded dragon through the process of hybridization!"

Chu Zihang's pupils flashed with a captivating light as he stared intently at his junior brother.

Is this the answer my junior brother wanted to tell him?

If Odin is a hybrid, then he can do anything that Odin can do!

"Then what about Morgan?" Xia Mi lowered her head, raised her index fingers and pressed them against her temples, like the clever Ikkyu exploring her mind.

"A guide? Or... a god?" Chu Zihang uttered the last word softly, his gaze incredibly complex.

Xia Mi was stunned, and murmured, "God? The dragon race has always called themselves gods. Does this 'god' refer to the dragon race, or... the true deities?"

"In Norse mythology, there are three special goddesses known as the Fates," Chu Zihang said, taking a deep breath. "In a sense, they are Odin's guides!"

"In Celtic mythology, the nymph Morgana is regarded as a triune goddess," Xia Mi said softly.

They suddenly felt a kind of fear.

The gentle night breeze outside the window turned a little cold, for they had glimpsed the secrets of God that night!

the other side.

Lu Mingfei stuck out his butt and scratched it a couple of times, ignoring the gazes directed at him by the two men.

He thought to himself, "Please, you two, just get married right here. How about I move the Civil Affairs Bureau here for you?"

If I tell you two stories, you can make them sound almost like the truth. If I reveal a little more information, won't you be tearing down the history of the dragon race?
