Xiu Gou's Taming Record

Chapter 70: Caught in the middle of a drama?

Yu Heng walked back to his stall, and Ning Yutong asked softly, "Who was it?"

Actually, when she saw Yu Heng's expression when he answered the phone, she guessed that it might be Shen Yueling.

"Yu Ling," Yu Heng said, "She said she wanted to come and take a look."

"Really?" Ning Yutong smiled. "Then she's finished with her work."

"What are you busy with?" Yu Heng asked. Was there anything he didn't know?

"Yue Ling has been busy with the freshman party these past few days," Ning Yutong explained.

"The freshman welcome party?" Yu Heng asked in confusion. "She's going to perform on stage at the freshman welcome party?"

"No, it's because their class had a group performance, and their professor asked them to design their own costumes to give them some training."

"Really?" Yu Heng frowned; he genuinely didn't know about this. "Have you two been chatting recently?"

"Of course, we chat every day," Ning Yutong said softly, but didn't mention that she had tried to find out information last night.

"Chatting every day?" Yu Heng repeated.

I thought to myself, have these two really improved their relationship?

He blurted out instinctively, "Didn't you two just... a while ago?"

"The past is the past," Ning Yutong blinked. "Now is now."

Yu Heng was inwardly astonished; they had been openly and secretly competing with each other not long ago.

Several more freshmen came to the booth for consultation, and Yu Heng got up to greet them.

About ten minutes later, Yu Heng was tidying up the registration forms when he heard Ning Yutong say softly, "Yueling is here."

He looked up and saw Shen Yueling walking towards him from the other end of the square.

She was even carrying a case of bottled water.

Yu Heng thought to himself, "Isn't this quite impressive? Last time we went to the supermarket, she even asked me to help her carry things."

Shen Yueling walked to the stall and placed the bottled water on the table.

"Let's share some with them," she said, glancing at Yu Heng.

"Thanks." Yu Heng grabbed the case of water, unpacked it, and gave everyone a bottle.

Shen Yueling naturally sat down in the chair that Yu Heng had just been sitting in.

There were only three chairs at the entire stall. Yu Heng stood, while Bai Xinran and Ning Yutong each sat on one.

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow, said nothing, unscrewed the bottle cap, and took a sip of water.

Bai Xinran nodded to Shen Yueling: "Long time no see."

"Yeah, long time no see," Shen Yueling replied, which was her way of saying hello.

They had only met once before at the villa, and they hadn't exchanged many words; they weren't really familiar with each other.

"Yueling, are you done with your work over there?" Ning Yutong asked with a smile.

"Yes, I just submitted the design draft." Shen Yueling nodded and said in a flat tone, revealing little emotion.

Yu Heng leaned against the table, watching the three girls sitting there.

Ning Yutong smiled gently, Shen Yueling remained aloof, and Bai Xinran calmly played with her phone.

The scene is quite harmonious.

"Hey, what does your club do?" a girl wearing glasses asked, coming over to ask.

"A virtual YouTuber community," Yu Heng pointed to the introduction on the banner, "is about doing online live streams, but without showing your face; you use a virtual avatar."

"A virtual avatar?" The girl's eyes lit up. "You mean one of those anime-style costumes?"

"Yes." Yu Heng nodded. "Our club will provide training, teaching you how to do live streaming, how to interact with the audience, and also provide equipment support."

This girl is of average appearance, but her voice is quite nice.

"Do I need to buy the equipment myself?" the girl asked.

"The club has shared facilities, but if you want to do something more professional, you can equip it yourself," Yu Heng explained.

The girl was clearly interested and picked up an application form: "Can I have one?"

"Take whatever you like," Yu Heng said.

Shen Yueling sat in the chair, watching Yu Heng introduce the club to people.

He speaks with focused eyes and clear thinking, and occasionally cracks a joke to liven up the atmosphere.

He was quite different from his usual carefree and nonchalant self.

Her gaze shifted downwards, landing on the gray scarf around his neck.

That's not his.

The color and style don't seem like something he would buy.

An inexplicable feeling of annoyance crept up on her silently, but it wasn't entirely anger. It was a feeling she couldn't quite put her finger on.

She's been incredibly busy these past few days.

The class of 32 students was divided into eight groups to design costumes for the freshman party. The selected costumes would earn extra credits.

Whether or not she gets extra credits, Shen Yueling doesn't really care that much, and she doesn't care about awards or honors either.

But her personality has always been such that she either doesn't do anything at all, or if she does something, she has to do it to the best of her ability.

After staying up late for several days in a row, his eyes were showing some dark circles. He had thought about contacting Yu Heng, but he knew that Yu Heng was also busy lately.

When starting a business, there are bound to be a lot of things to do.

We'll meet up when we have a spare moment, but it won't last long.

There's no time to do anything, which only makes it more frustrating.

Let's just go about our own business and talk about it when we've finished with our own tasks.

This morning, I finally submitted the final design draft and contacted Yu Heng immediately.

But what did we see when we arrived?

This person is surrounded by quite a lively crowd.

Ning Yutong was sitting right next to him, and the anchor named Bai Xinran was also there.

I miss him, but what about him?

He was chatting and laughing with the little girls.

Even though I was the one who agreed to that kind of relationship with him, and promised not to restrict him.

But even though I agreed, seeing this scene still left me with some mixed feelings.

Shen Yueling didn't think this was inconsistent. Feelings and emotions are two different things, and rationality and sensibility are not in conflict!

More people came to inquire about the club.

Shen Yueling sat there the whole time, occasionally looking down at her phone and occasionally glancing up at Yu Heng.

Yu Heng could feel her gaze, but he didn't turn around.

He wondered what Shen Yueling wanted to do by coming over today.

Is it really just for looking?

Just then, another person came to the stall.

Yu Heng looked up and was stunned.

He Mengyao? Yu Heng was a little surprised.

"Hey, Yu Heng." He Mengyao walked over, her gaze sweeping over the stall. "Are you... involved in a club?"

As she spoke, her gaze lingered on Ning Yutong and Shen Yueling for a moment before finally settling on Bai Xinran's face.

"A virtual YouTuber community," Yu Heng said. "How did you end up here?"

"Just browsing." He Mengyao stood casually with her hands in her pockets. "Our department is putting on a show for the freshman welcome party, and I was dragged off to dance practice. I just happened to be passing by and saw you here."

As she spoke, she leaned closer to examine the poster: "You actually started a club?"

"Otherwise what?" Yu Heng laughed.

"Sure." He Mengyao raised an eyebrow, then looked back at Yu Heng's face. "You've done a pretty good job."

"Interested in learning more?" Yu Heng asked half-jokingly.

"Me?" He Mengyao laughed. "I don't have the patience for live streaming. Besides, aren't I already tired enough from dancing?"

As she spoke, her gaze swept over Ning Yutong again.

Ning Yutong had already stood up at this moment, smiling as she handed over an application form: "Student, feel free to take a look if you're interested."

He Mengyao took the registration form, but didn't look at it. Instead, she stared at Ning Yutong and asked, "Are you in a club?"

"Yes, I'm Yu Heng's high school classmate." Ning Yutong's voice remained gentle.

"Oh~" He Mengyao drawled, "You're a streamer too?"

Shen Yueling looked at the new girl who had appeared. She seemed to know Yu Heng quite well.

When did they meet?

I've been busy for a few days and I miss him, but he's always surrounded by people.

Suddenly, she didn't want to sit there anymore; she wanted to be alone with him.

Shen Yueling suddenly spoke up at this moment: "Yu Heng, I'm hungry."

Her voice wasn't loud, but it was loud enough for everyone to hear.

Yu Heng looked at her: "Hungry? It's only eleven o'clock."

"I didn't have breakfast," Shen Yueling said casually.

That's true. I was rushing to submit the manuscript, so I only had a cup of coffee this morning.

"Why don't you go get something to eat?" Yu Heng said.

Shen Yueling looked at him: "You'll come with me."

Hao Junran glanced at Yu Heng, then at Shen Yueling and the other girls.

Did this just let him stumble upon the drama unfold?
