Xiu Gou's Taming Record

Chapter 49 I want to eat rice bowls

When Yu Heng returned to the villa, Bai Xinran was already playing it.

He stood in the living room and listened for a while. The voice sounded quite energetic, so there shouldn't be any problems.

My phone vibrated.

Qin Lu sent a message: "Yu Heng, we have something to do right now and won't be there until six. Isn't that too late? How about we broadcast it tomorrow?"

Yu Heng glanced at the time; it was only 4:30.

He typed back: "It's okay, come on over. It would be even worse to stop broadcasting; we need to maintain a stable broadcast schedule at the beginning."

After a few seconds, Qin Lu replied, "Okay, then we'll be there at six."

Yu Heng tossed his phone onto the sofa and went to the kitchen to pour himself a glass of water.

Thinking to himself, Qin Lu came to inform him about the basketball game in person today, so they ended up seeing each other twice.

At six o'clock sharp, the doorbell rang.

Yu Heng opened the door, and Qin Lu stood outside, with Qin Ya following behind her, carrying the backpack.

"Counselor, Qin Ya." Yu Heng stepped aside to let them in.

Qin Lu is wearing the same clothes as this morning, and on her legs...

She was still wearing those same black stockings.

Qin Ya changed into slippers and went upstairs: "Brother! I'm going to do my live stream!"

"Play for a full three hours!" Yu Heng called out to her back. "If you gain another captain today, I'll take you out for fun this weekend."

"Okay!" Qin Ya replied without turning her head.

Only Yu Heng and Qin Lu remained in the living room.

Qin Lu sat down on the sofa, placed her bag beside her, and crossed her legs together at an angle, her posture very dignified.

"How did the selection competition go this afternoon?" she asked.

"Not bad," Yu Heng sat down on the single sofa opposite her. "Hao Junran and I were both selected as starters."

"That's not bad." Qin Lu nodded, her eyes crinkling into a smile. "You even fainted during military training, I didn't expect you to be so athletic."

Yu Heng laughed upon hearing this: "Counselor, I really did have low blood sugar that day, but I wasn't weak at all."

"Who said you're weak?" Qin Lu glanced at him. "Then you should play well in the competition and try to get a ranking. We'll go and see you when the competition starts."

"You're here to be a cheerleader?" Yu Heng grinned. "Then our department can't possibly win the championship."

"Nonsense," Qin Lu laughed, "It's already great that you made it to the top four."

As he spoke, Yu Heng's gaze fell on her legs again.

Qin Lu was sitting more relaxed today than she was in the dormitory this morning, with a section of her calves covered in black stockings peeking out from under her skirt.

She seemed to notice Yu Heng's gaze and subtly crossed her left leg over her right.

Yu Heng clicked his tongue inwardly.

This woman clearly knows he's watching, yet she deliberately shifts her legs across him. Isn't she encouraging him to keep watching?

"Counselor," Yu Heng suddenly spoke, his tone quite serious, "your stockings look better than the last pair."

Qin Lu was picking up her water glass to drink when she heard this and paused.

"Really?" Qin Lu put down her water glass, her tone calm. "I didn't notice, I just dressed casually."

"You even manage to put together such a great outfit, no matter what," Yu Heng leaned forward. "Your taste is amazing! Is that Balenciaga?"

Qin Lu's eyelashes trembled: "You certainly know a lot."

"Boys, you know, they all know a bit about these things," Yu Heng said nonchalantly.

Qin Lu didn't reply, and the living room was quiet for a few seconds.

Yu Heng didn't try to make conversation, and just continued to enjoy the view.

These legs are really beautiful; they're not the skinny kind, but rather shapely and well-defined.

Actually, he thinks that good legs don't need to wear stockings.

Wearing it actually gives it a unique charm.

"Oh, right," Qin Lu suddenly looked up and said, "the basketball game starts next Thursday?"

"Yes, November 1st." Yu Heng nodded. "Advisor, you really want to come?"

"We'll see," Qin Lu said, walking back to the sofa but not sitting down. "It's a department event, and as the counselor, I should be there."

"Then I'd better do my best," Yu Heng stood up as well, "I can't let the counselor come all this way for nothing."

The two stood quite close, separated only by a coffee table.

Qin Lu looked up at Yu Heng and suddenly asked, "How tall are you?"

"1.81 meters tall," Yu Heng said. "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing," Qin Lu smiled, "I just think that all of you basketball players are quite tall."

"Hao Junran is even taller, almost 1.9 meters," Yu Heng said. "But his advantage is purely due to his size."

What position do you play?

"Point guard, the one who organizes the offense."

Qin Lu nodded and didn't ask any more questions.

The atmosphere became subtle again.

Qin Ya's faint singing voice drifted from upstairs; the girl seemed to be in good spirits during her live stream today.

"Um," Qin Lu glanced at her watch, "Qin Ya's broadcasting continues until after nine o'clock, right?"

"Yes," Yu Heng said, "If you have something to do, you can go first, and I can take her home later."

"No need," Qin Lu shook her head. "I'll wait. I don't have anything to do."

She sat back down on the sofa, took out a booklet from her bag, and started flipping through it; it looked like work materials.

Yu Heng sat back down opposite her, took out his phone and pretended to check messages, but his eyes were still glancing at Qin Lu out of the corner of his eye.

She changed the position of her legs again, this time with her right ankle resting on her left knee. This angle made the instep of her foot, covered by stockings, straighten, and the curve looked quite nice.

Yu Heng wondered to himself, was this woman doing it on purpose?

Every time he looked at her, she would change her pose and show off in different ways.

"Yu Heng," Qin Lu suddenly called out to him.

"Huh?" Yu Heng came back to his senses.

"You..." Qin Lu looked at him, hesitating to speak.

"What about me?"

Qin Lu pursed her lips, but finally shook her head: "It's nothing."

Yu Heng laughed: "Counselor, just say what you want to say."

Qin Lu glared at him, picked up her cup, took another sip of water, and then spoke: "I just wanted to ask, can Qin Ya continue this live stream indefinitely?"

"That depends on her," Yu Heng said. "If she can maintain this momentum, supporting herself will definitely not be a problem. If she gives up halfway, then it's hard to say."

"She will persevere," Qin Lu said with certainty. "That girl is stubborn; once she sets her mind on something, she will see it through to the end."

"Then that settles it?" Yu Heng shrugged. "Don't worry."

Qin Lu nodded, remained silent for a few seconds, and then suddenly asked, "What about you? Do you plan to continue doing this?"

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "As for me, I'll try it out first. In this industry, I can easily stay for three to five years, or even ten years or more. It's the same as any other job; if I can do it for that long, that's good enough."

Qin Lu hummed in agreement and didn't say anything more.

The living room fell silent again.

"Counselor," Yu Heng suddenly spoke.

"What is it now?" Qin Lu glanced at him.

"Would our championship win help your advisor's evaluation?" Yu Heng asked.

"Yes, there will be." Qin Lu nodded. "What's wrong?"

"Tell me," Yu Heng said earnestly, "if I win the competition, is there any reward?"

Qin Lu was taken aback for a moment: "What kind of reward do you want?"

"For example..." Yu Heng drawled, "For example, my advisor treating me to a meal or something?"

Qin Lu looked at him, her eyes narrowing slightly: "That's it?"

"What else?" Yu Heng blinked. "What other reward does the counselor want to give me?"

Qin Lu didn't reply, but picked up her glass and took a sip of water: "Okay, if you can win the championship, I'll treat you to dinner."

"real?"

"It's just a meal, what would you like to eat?"

"I want to eat..." Yu Heng narrowed his eyes, "a rice bowl with toppings."

"What?" Qin Lu asked, frowning.

"Haha, no," Yu Heng chuckled awkwardly, "We'll see when the time comes!"

At that moment, Qin Ya ran downstairs with a pattering sound.

"Mom! Brother! I'm done broadcasting!" Her voice was filled with excitement. "I gained two more captains today! And a few special effect gifts too!"

Yu Heng sat up straight: "Sure!"

Qin Ya ran to the sofa: "You said you'd take me out this weekend!"

"Hmm, Saturday afternoon then," Yu Heng said. "I have something to do in the morning."

"Okay!" Qin Ya nodded vigorously, then looked at Qin Lu, "Mom, shall we go home?"

Qin Lu closed the booklet and stood up: "Okay."

She picked up her bag and looked at Yu Heng: "Thank you for your help again today."

"No trouble at all," Yu Heng also stood up. "I'm overjoyed that Qin Ya performed so well."

Qin Lu went out, but Qin Ya was still in the entryway. She whispered to Yu Heng, "I heard that just now."

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "What did you hear?"

"You want a rice bowl with toppings." Qin Ya squinted at her, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Don't worry, I won't tell her."
