Xiu Gou's Taming Record

Chapter 18 The counselor really doesn't treat him like an outsider.

On the first morning after the National Day holiday, Yu Heng was woken up by his mobile phone alarm.

"Damn..." He squinted at the time; it was 7:10.

The sound of Bai Xinran humming a song came from the living room.

Yu Heng put on his clothes and walked out of the room, where he saw Bai Xinran busy in the kitchen.

"Up so early?" Yu Heng rubbed his eyes and yawned.

"I have class in the first period," Bai Xinran said, plating the fried eggs. "Don't you have class too?"

"Yes! I work from 8 AM!"

He glanced at the course schedule; the morning session consisted of Introduction to Communication Studies and Digital Media Technology.

"Is the breakfast you made enough for the two of us?" Yu Heng asked, approaching the stove.

"That's enough," Bai Xinran pushed the plate towards him, "Finish eating and leave quickly, I don't want to be late on the first day of school."

Yu Heng finished his fried egg in a few bites, and before leaving, he glanced at Bai Xinran's room: "Is it going to air again tonight?"

"Okay, I'll be right back after class." Bai Xinran locked the door. "Are you eating at the cafeteria or going home tonight?"

"We'll see," Yu Heng stretched, "maybe I'll eat with my roommates."

The two parted ways at the school gate, and Yu Heng slowly walked towards the teaching building.

Yu Heng found the classroom and sat down in the back row.

"Hey!" Hao Junran, sporting dark circles under his eyes, came over. "Where did you go on vacation?"

"I'll just stay home and lie down." Yu Heng tossed his schoolbag onto the seat next to him.

"You're kidding me," Hao Junran winked. "Going out to a hotel with a girl? You're quick on your feet. Which one? The one with the big boobs or the more aloof one?"

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "Bullshit, who told you that?"

"Liu Tianqi said it," Hao Junran said in a low voice, "He said you didn't stay in the dormitory when you came back for National Day."

"Tsk, that's a rumor. I just rented a place outside," Yu Heng said casually. "How did that become booking a hotel room?"

"You rented a place? You're not staying there anymore?" Hao Junran raised an eyebrow.

"Not necessarily." The counselor hasn't replied yet!

Hao Junran wanted to ask more questions, but the teacher had already entered the classroom.

The Introduction to Communication Studies teacher was a middle-aged woman who wore glasses and spoke slowly and deliberately.

Yu Heng started to lose focus after listening for ten minutes.

He took out his phone and sent Bai Xinran a WeChat message: "Are you in class yet?"

Bai Xinran replied instantly: "Sure, the first class was a total slacker! So boring (╯‵□′)╯".

Yu Heng smiled, and the two chatted casually.

As soon as the bell rang, Yu Heng got up and walked out.

"Where are you going?" Hao Junran asked. "The next class will be in the same classroom!"

"I'm going to find the counselor!" Yu Heng said as he left the classroom.

Yu Heng walked to the door of the counselor's office and knocked.

"Please come in."

Pushing open the door, I saw Qin Lu sitting in front of her computer.

She wore a fitted beige knit sweater today; the fabric was soft and comfortable against her skin.

It outlines her full breasts and slender waist, with the neckline slightly open, revealing a delicate collarbone.

Her hair was loosely tied into a bun, with a few stray strands falling beside her ears, which accentuated her long neck and gave her a very mature and married look.

Yu Heng couldn't help but glance at her a few more times. This woman was not young, but she maintained a really great figure.

Her mature curves trembled slightly as she typed, exuding an indescribable languid allure.

"Teacher," Yu Heng walked to the desk, "I sent you a message yesterday to inquire about staying overnight outside."

Qin Lu looked up, adjusted her glasses, and as she raised her hand, the cuff of her knitted sweater slipped down, revealing a delicate silver chain on her wrist: "Yu Heng, please sit down."

Yu Heng sat down in the chair opposite him.

"Why did you apply to live off-campus?" Qin Lu placed her hands on the table and leaned forward slightly. "The school generally does not recommend that first-year students live off-campus."

The shadow at her collar was faintly visible as she spoke.

Tsk! Does this counselor genuinely not treat him like an outsider, or is he deliberately testing his composure?

"Teacher, I'm currently working on a new media startup project," Yu Heng said, trying to sound sincere. "I need a relatively quiet and independent environment, as the dormitory isn't very convenient."

Qin Lu raised an eyebrow: "A startup project? What exactly does it do?"

"Virtual streamer operation," Yu Heng observed her expression, "is about utilizing digital technology..."

"I know about virtual YouTubers," Qin Lu interrupted him. "I didn't expect you to be interested in that."

Yu Heng was taken aback; this reaction was somewhat unexpected.

"Okay," Qin Lu said, taking a form out of the drawer. "Fill out this application form; it needs a parent's signature. Also... make sure it doesn't affect your studies."

"No problem, teacher!" Yu Heng quickly took the form. "My grades will definitely be good."

Qin Lu nodded: "By the way, how many streamers do you have now?"

"There's only one right now," Yu Heng answered truthfully. "What's wrong, teacher?"

"Do you need any more live streamers?" Qin Lu pushed up her glasses, her tone slightly hesitant.

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "Yes, of course we want to. Now is the time to expand."

"My daughter dropped out of school and has been staying at home for over a year. I really can't control her," Qin Lu sighed. "She's too young to go out and work, and I don't feel comfortable letting her. Recently, I've noticed she's always on her phone watching live streams, insisting she wants to stream too. I happened to catch her today, so I thought maybe I should let her give it a try?"

Yu Heng smiled, this was an unexpected delight: "Sure! When would be a convenient time to meet and talk? I have all the equipment ready."

"How about tonight?" Qin Lu glanced at her watch. "Where are you staying? I'll take her there to see the surroundings."

"The seven villas at the very back of the residential complex across from the school," Yu Heng replied. "How about seven o'clock tonight?"

"Okay, see you then," Qin Lu said.

"Okay, see you tonight, teacher!"

Yu Heng took the application form and went out the door.

After returning to school and attending another class, Yu Heng's phone began vibrating incessantly as soon as the lunch bell rang.

He unlocked his screen, and Ning Yutong's WeChat messages started popping up one after another:

"Yu Heng! Have you finished class yet?"

Why didn't you reply to my messages last night?

"I went back to school early on purpose, hoping to have dinner with you..."

"(Looking wronged.jpg)"

Yu Heng rubbed his temples and quickly replied, "I had something to do last night, and it got pretty late, so I didn't check my phone much."

The message was barely sent when Ning Yutong replied almost instantly: "How about now? Are you free now? How about we go have lunch together? (✧ω✧)"

Just as Yu Heng was about to reply, Shen Yueling sent a message that was concise and to the point: "Let's have lunch together."

Yu Heng sighed, hovered his finger over the screen for a moment, and replied to Shen Yueling with "OK".

Then, switching back to the chat window with Ning Yutong, he replied with "OK".

He thought for a moment, then added to Ning Yutong, "Yue Ling is also looking for me, how about the three of us go together?"

After sending the message, he stared at the screen, feeling a little uneasy.

Watching others in a chaotic situation is exciting, but when it happens to you, it's just overwhelming.

This awkward situation must be broken; we must find a way to at least get them to get along harmoniously.

A few seconds later, Ning Yutong replied: "Okay (*^▽^*)"

It was followed by a cute cat emoji.

Looking at that smiling face, Yu Heng felt even more uncertain.

Does this reaction mean he genuinely doesn't mind?

He greeted Hao Junran and then headed towards the agreed-upon second canteen.

All the way there, I was thinking about how to make this meal a little more normal.

As I walked to the entrance of the cafeteria, I could see Shen Yueling and Ning Yutong already waiting there.

Shen Yueling remained aloof, standing there with her arms crossed and her gaze calm.

Ning Yutong, wearing a JK skirt, was smiling and talking to Shen Yueling.

"Let's go in." Yu Heng walked up to them.

"Hmm," Shen Yueling responded faintly.

"Okay! I want to eat spicy hot pot today!" Ning Yutong replied immediately, her voice sweet.

The three of them got their food and sat down at a four-person table by the window.

Yu Heng sat down to one side, and Shen Yueling and Ning Yutong exchanged a glance and sat down opposite him.

He cleared his throat, trying to break the silence: "Um... Yue Ling, do you have a lot of classes in your major this semester?"

"It's alright." Shen Yueling replied without looking up.

"Yutong, are you having a music performance?" Yu Heng turned to the other side.

"It's alright, there are 15 classes a week," Ning Yutong said softly.
