My Terrible Life in Those Years

111. Aunt Shu was attacked!

Around 10 or 11 p.m., my phone suddenly rang.

When it rings at this time, I always feel like something has happened again.

I glanced at the number and answered immediately.

"Manager Shu, what's wrong? Didn't you eat enough for dinner?"

It was Aunt Shu calling.

The voice on the other end was filled with panic: "Jiang, Jiang Ning, where are you?"

The voice belonged to Aunt Shu, but I had never heard her voice like that before; it was filled with panic and a startled cough.

"I'm at the barbecue stand, what happened?"

"Could you...could you come to my apartment for a moment?"

My heart sank. Aunt Shu had always been calm and composed, so why was she speaking in this tone and manner?

"What happened to you?" I asked quickly.

"Just now, someone attacked me!" the woman said urgently.

Ah? ? ?

Holy crap, someone actually attacked Aunt Shu?!

My heart jumped into my throat.

"Are you hurt? Where is your apartment?" I started to get anxious.

"No, no, just now, I got out of the car and dropped my keys. I bent down to pick them up, and someone with a stick hit the car..."

"You, come here right now, and stop fucking asking questions!" She was really anxious!

"Tell me your address, I'm coming right now. Call the police immediately!"

"Oh, oh, oh!"

……

This woman actually called me first, but not her husband? Didn't she call the police?

I quickly told Uncle Ye, "My second boss has been attacked, I have to go there! Please tell the young boss."

Uncle Ye immediately nodded: "Call the store if you need anything."

It was obvious that he was saying I needed his help, and that I should just call on him without any hesitation.

Tianqi Apartments isn't far from here. It's just on the other side of the stadium.

A taxi ride takes about fifteen minutes if there's no traffic. It will probably arrive earlier than the taxi driver.

I ran all the way to the street corner; it's easy to get a taxi at this time.

"Driver, get to the Apocalypse underground parking lot as fast as you can!"

I tossed him a hundred-yuan bill.

Spurred by the large sum of money, the driver sped along, arriving at the entrance to the apartment's underground parking lot in twelve minutes. I quickly got out of the car, not even having time to close the door behind me.

The security booth at the parking lot entrance was still under renovation and had not yet been put into use. The entrance ramp was also standing straight in the air.

How could an old lady live in a place like this?

Without thinking twice, I took big strides and ran straight to the parking lot.

I recognized her car. I ran quickly along the avenue of the parking lot, scanning the car with my eyes for the four-ring logo.

He shouted, "Manager Shu?"

"Mr. Shu?"

"Aunt Shu?"

The sound was so loud that it startled one or two cars, and two heads even popped out from the back seats.

Damn, it's just that I didn't have time to observe, learn, and simulate; otherwise, I would definitely have gone over to take a closer look.

They were probably too caught up in their own madness to hear about the attack in the parking lot!

I secretly wondered if it would feel especially good to have a deep conversation with a girl in a place like this?

What time is it? I still have time to think about this question. I have to scold myself.

I drove around most of the parking lot before I finally saw her car.

The lights were flashing when one of the rearview mirrors was smashed. I didn't see anyone else around; I was making such a loud noise, I figured everyone had already hidden themselves.

I rushed over immediately.

He pounded on the car door: "Manager Shu, it's me, Jiang Ning!"

While taking pictures, I looked into the car, and wow, what I saw left me speechless.

Aunt Shu was huddled in the driver's seat, clutching her head. She only managed to lift her head to look at me when she heard my voice.

Upon seeing that it was me, her extremely frightened face relaxed slightly.

She tried to stand up, but she seemed to lack the strength and slumped back into her seat.

"Open the door, open the door!" I gently knocked on the car door.

She managed to press the unlock button on the car door, and I opened the door and reached out to help her up. At this point, the driver's seat was a bit cramped.

She wasn't particularly tall, but rather plump. Now, feeling completely powerless, she was stuck in her position, unable to get down.

Aunt Shu's hair was spread across her face, obscuring most of her delicate features.

"Press, press that key!"

There were several buttons on the side of the car door. I found the one she mentioned, pressed it gently, and the door obediently moved back.

Hmm? I didn't know it could be done like that? That makes the space much larger.

I was thinking, wouldn't those two people who were in the back row be able to do the same in the front row?

She still had no strength.

"Help me up, help me up!"

Hey, this soft, sweet voice is something I've never heard before; it makes my whole body go numb.

Can you stand it when a high-level career woman, a vice president of a soon-to-be-listed company, a mature woman with at least an 80 out of 100 appearance, speaks to you in this voice?

Unless you're not into the female perspective!

I quickly reached one hand under her left armpit and barely managed to move the other hand from under the seat cushion, rubbing against her bulging area, to her right armpit. With both arms, I lifted her upper body up, half-carrying, half-dragging, and finally got her off the bus.

She's not heavy, a little chubby, but all the fat is in the right places. I estimate she weighs a little over 100 pounds, which is okay.

As I got closer to her, her familiar, light fragrance wafted into my nostrils, making my mind a jumbled mess.

"What happened, Manager Shu? Who attacked you?"

I looked at the car door and saw a scratch. The rearview mirror was completely smashed, and there was a pile of glass shards on the ground!

"Holy crap, how much force did that take? The person who attacked you, were they trying to cripple you?! Did they even see who it was?"

What kind of deep-seated hatred could there be?

She caught her breath a few times: "No, I didn't see clearly. I dropped my keys, and when I went to pick them up, I bent down, which saved me from being hit. Luckily, the car wasn't locked, so I quickly hid inside!"

"Oh, then it's not a deadly feud. Otherwise, I would have smashed the car open and killed you!"

I made a simple and direct judgment.

I checked, and the car keys were still under the car door.

She rested her head on my shoulder, I put one arm around her waist, and with the other I took the keys and locked the car.

"Did you call the police?"

"No, my phone is dead!" Aunt Shu said weakly.

Damn, what a coincidence! Of all times, the power went out. If it had gone out before she called me, she would have been dead for sure.

This is clearly a new apartment building; there isn't even a security guard.

How could someone live in a place like this?

"Let me help you back to your room first!"

I thought I should leave first. Who knows if that person is still hiding in the shadows, preparing to attack again?

I helped her up and slowly carried her to the elevator.

To get from the car to the elevator, you have to walk through three rows of parking spaces.

When I was almost at the second row, a gust of wind came from the direction of Aunt Shu again.

I kept a close eye on things and was on high alert. As soon as the wind started to blow, I sensed it.

But I didn't have time to react otherwise. I could only barely let go, and Aunt Shu slid down helplessly.

A stick struck my left arm hard with a loud crack!
