Being at Hogwarts, something's not right with this system.
49. Team up and gang up on someone?
What puzzled Lin Yu was that the system remained silent when Draco challenged him to a duel.
Given the system's consistent style, this should obviously be an opportunity to trigger a task, shouldn't it?
System: This is a story without an ending, why issue a mission?
Lin Yu was unaware that Draco would never actually appear.
This was actually one of Draco's schemes. As a little snake in Slytherin, he was quite cunning.
So on his way back to his dorm, Draco specifically sought out the dorm manager, Filch, and told him that Lin Yu was likely to go to the prize display room at midnight.
Upon hearing Lin Yu's name, Filch immediately recalled what had happened before and let out a series of cold laughs.
Lin Yu was in the right before, forcing him to apologize to a student.
This made Filch feel humiliated.
This time, he was determined to catch the other person and use school rules to put that freshman in solitary confinement.
He will make that child pay the price.
That evening, the first-year students of Gryffindor returned to the common room in groups.
They chatted for a while in the common rest area before returning to their respective private rest rooms for the boys and girls.
Lin Yu was the last to enter. As soon as he came in, he heard Ron arguing with Dean Thomas.
"I really don't understand, what's the fun in a sport where a bunch of people are chasing after a ball and can't even fly?" Ron expressed his opinion.
Dean retorted, "This is football, Ron. This isn't wizarding Quidditch; it's a sport for us ordinary people. You can't expect everyone to ride a magical broomstick and fly into the sky."
So they were arguing about football and Quidditch?
Lin Yu shook his head and walked towards his bed.
Moreover, under Lin Yu's influence, at least the first-year students around him no longer refer to people who cannot use magic as "Muggles."
Because Lin Yu told them that it was an insulting term, just like "mud people."
Moreover, many of them come from Muggle families.
For example, Hermione's parents are ordinary people. Does she have to insult her parents?
Dean was the same; his mother was an ordinary person, and he didn't actually know that his father was a wizard. Before Voldemort disappeared, his father left to protect his family and children, and even died at the hands of the Death Eaters.
Therefore, Dean was unaware of his origins, and his mother had remarried, which resulted in Dean having several younger brothers and sisters.
"Why aren't they moving?" Ron poked Dean's favorite team poster with his wand and found that the people on it were just standing there blankly.
Dean could only roll his eyes and explain to Ron that photos and portraits of ordinary people are not meant to move.
This is the difference in perception between wizards and ordinary people.
Lin Yu couldn't stand it anymore. He picked Ron up and carried him to the bedside to greet his snoring, saying, "Ron, don't be so superior. Like I said before, those high and mighty wizards who look down on ordinary people are experiencing rapid technological advancements that you can't even dream of. Take trains, for example. Even Hogwarts is still using the oldest, most primitive steam trains, while ordinary people are almost riding high-speed rail. It's laughable; steam trains were invented by ordinary people."
Lin Yu couldn't help but burst into a tirade at this point: "I really don't know what the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore are thinking! It's 1991, and they're still using steam trains? I'm not even talking about airplanes, what's wrong with getting a better train? Even a green one would be fine!"
Even the slowest green train is faster than a steam train, right?
Lin Yu was thinking, "I can't possibly spend a whole day traveling every time I go to school for the next few years, can I?"
Ron had no idea what Lin Yu was talking about.
It wasn't that he knew nothing at all; he did know what an airplane was.
But high-speed rail? Green-skinned trains? What are those?
"Ron," Lin Yu suddenly said to Ron with a mysterious look, "Sometimes you really should go out and broaden your horizons. For example, human television dramas, many movies and TV series are really interesting. If I remember correctly, the concept of superheroes already exists in this era, right? You know Superman? Wearing red underwear and a cape, but he can fly, and he punishes evil and promotes good, he's very cool. Not to mention video games. Have you ever played a game? Not Quidditch, and certainly not that damn cauldron on your head catching stones. That damn Wood, what on earth did he teach me?"
Lin Yu grumbled and cursed, all because of that Wood guy, who actually made him start to think that Quidditch was already very safe?
This damn compromise!
Ron stammered, "Stop talking, I've never heard of any of those things you're talking about."
The Weasleys were already struggling financially to raise so many children; for example, Ron's things were all hand-me-downs from his brothers.
For example, old robes, old textbooks, and even his pet Scabbers were things Percy didn't want.
Even the old wand in Ron's hand, which was somewhat damaged and had the unicorn hair sticking out from the end, was replaced by his brother Charlie.
Lin Yu looked at Ron thoughtfully, wondering, "Can this guy really be trusted?"
Ron was his assistant, but that was after he died.
Thinking of this, Lin Yu felt relieved. He wouldn't die; if anyone were to die, it would be Draco.
A group of children were making a lot of noise, and soon it got late.
Before we knew it, it was midnight.
Around 11:30, Ron crept up to Lin Yu's bedside and whispered, "We should probably head out now."
Before Lin Yu could wake up, Harry from next door sat up in bed and whispered, "I'm going with you too."
Lin Yu felt a warmth in his heart. They were all friends, so of course they should stand together when a fight broke out.
So the three children stayed up most of the night, quietly put on their clothes, sneaked out of bed, and went downstairs to the public rest area.
Suddenly, a figure stood up from a chair, and Hermione's voice rang out: "You really are going to keep your appointment. Take me with you, I'll come too."
Hermione had already tried to stop Lin Yu, but Lin Yu clearly wouldn't listen to her.
That's why Hermione decided to go with them, just in case something really happened.
Lin Yu felt helpless. What was the point of a boy bringing a girl along when he went to fight? A cheerleader squad?
But then another voice came from the stairs behind him: "Um, Lin Yu, can I help you too?"
The group turned around and found it was Neville. It turned out he hadn't slept either, or had been woken up.
Neville came down the stairs and said timidly, "After all, you offended Malfoy because of me, and I want to do my part."
Lin Yu smiled, suddenly thinking that this experience wasn't so bad after all?
"Alright, then let's use our numerical advantage to gang up on Malfoy."
After all, they are Gryffindor, isn't ganging up on Slytherins a tradition?
Right, James Porter?
