Douluo Continent: My Martial Soul is Kunpeng
Chapter 21 Registration
"Hey mistress, how's it going? Did you make it through?"
On the outskirts of Soto, Luo Hao carried Xiao Wu on his back along a dirt path, with wasteland and weeds on both sides of the path.
Dressed in blue, Tang San, with an ordinary appearance but looking very energetic, was following Luo Hao with a warm and welcoming smile.
However, his eyes kept drifting involuntarily to Xiao Wu on Luo Hao's back, indicating that his heart was not as calm as it appeared on the surface.
"Almost there, Brother Luo Hao. Although I didn't break through immediately after this battle, based on my consolidation and training over the past two days, I'm almost at the edge of a breakthrough."
"Now, I'm just a little bit away from breaking through the level 30 threshold and becoming a Soul Master."
...Then I'll be able to catch up with you and win back Xiao Wu's attention.
When talking about his strength, Tang San's face showed obvious confidence. Of course, Tang San did not say the last sentence out loud, but only whispered it to himself and made a decision.
As Luo Hao and Xiao Wu's relationship grew increasingly intimate, to the point that even he, their childhood friend, could no longer get a word in edgewise, Tang San became disheartened and frustrated.
However, having lived two lives, and having been alone since his father's passing, Tang San worked in a blacksmith's shop, repeatedly hammering iron ore into refined iron suitable for weapon making.
During this process, Tang Sanming realized the truth that sincerity can move mountains, and he was confident that the pure and innocent Tang Sanming would win back Xiao Wu's attention.
Thinking of this, Tang San felt as if the bottleneck he had been loosening could be broken at any moment.
"I'm so tired, why is it so far?"
Xiao Wu's energetic voice came weakly. Luo Hao tightened his arms and lifted her up twice more, completely ignoring Xiao Wu's suddenly reddened cheeks, and said helplessly.
"Didn't I walk this whole way? Why are you so tired? Ever since we left the city gate, you've been climbing on me and making me carry you!"
Seeing Tang San being somewhat overwhelmed by his and Xiao Wu's public display of affection under the sun, Luo Hao rolled his eyes at Xiao Wu helplessly and began to complain.
"Hehe, I'm calling this for my brother. Look, he's been out in the sun for so long and carried me all the way. He's sweating. Here, let me wipe you off."
Xiao Wu chuckled and began to argue, while taking out her handkerchief and wiping Luo Hao's forehead, which was practically dry.
A faint, rose-like fragrance wafted into Luo Hao's nose, and feeling a tickle on his cheek, Luo Hao couldn't help but tilt his head back.
Sitting behind Luo Hao, Xiao Wu looked at Luo Hao's face, which was completely dry, and leaned forward in disbelief, wanting to get a closer look.
"Xiao Wu, the scent on you has completely changed."
Luo Hao avoided Tang San, turned his face to the side, and brushed the corner of his mouth across Xiao Wu's face before whispering in her ear.
"You've been completely marinated overnight, and now you smell like roses."
Luo Hao ignored Xiao Wu's face, which had turned bright red as if she had been steamed, and continued to speak.
Before she could finish speaking, Xiao Wu had already transformed into a steam princess. Then, she glanced at Tang San with some concern and lightly punched Luo Hao twice.
Luo Hao grinned smugly at Xiao Wu, then his hands began to tug at Xiao Wu's long scorpion braid with a few unruly tugs.
Seeing Luo Hao's little actions, Xiao Wu's eyes widened instantly. Then, somewhat embarrassed, she glanced at Tang San walking beside her and slowly lowered her head to Luo Hao's ear.
"Brother, don't do this..."
Xiao Wu asked somewhat embarrassedly, feeling a little confused about Luo Hao's actions.
A breath of hot air blew past his ear, making Luo Hao feel an itch. Then, Xiao Wu's embarrassed voice sounded like she was both rejecting and welcoming him, making Luo Hao almost go weak in the knees.
However, Luo Hao had no interest in flirting under other people's noses or in their eyes. He simply taught Xiao Wu a lesson and then stopped, pretending nothing had happened and continuing on his way as usual.
Because Luo Hao was carrying Xiao Wu, Tang San's speed was significantly improved compared to the original story. He quickly arrived at Shrek Academy after deliberately speeding up his pace.
"Brother, isn't there a small village up ahead?"
Xiao Wu, sitting on Luo Hao's back, pointed ahead and gazed into the distance.
"Hmm, we should be there soon. Let's go to the village and ask."
Luo Hao looked at the distant village without a care and responded indifferently.
Having already known the level of Shrek Academy, Luo Hao was naturally aware that those villages were Shrek Academy. However, to save trouble, Luo Hao did not correct Xiao Wu's words.
After quickly arriving at the village, Tang San and Xiao Wu both felt that something was amiss.
A long queue had already formed at the entrance of the village, with teenagers of similar age and their parents waiting in line.
Ahead of the group was a wooden archway with the words "Shrek Academy" written on it, and a green humanoid monster head on the tattered sign.
"No way!"
Xiao Wu jumped off Luo Hao's back with a look of utter disbelief, then looked at Tang San, who was also somewhat doubtful, and asked him without any politeness.
"Hey, is your teacher reliable? This school seems like a scam, doesn't it?"
Faced with Xiao Wu's questioning gaze, Tang San, who was already a little apprehensive, was immediately aroused by his competitive spirit.
A sudden urge to perform and his trust in Yu Xiaogang led Tang San to decide to show off in front of Xiao Wu.
"Since we're already here, why don't we go take a look?"
Tang San glanced at Luo Hao and Xiao Wu, then walked forward first. He believed that as his teacher, Yu Xiaogang would not do something so baseless.
"Registration costs ten gold coins; just put them in this little box."
At the entrance of Shrek Academy, an elderly man with a full head of white hair, who looked to be in his sixties, sat lazily in a chair.
The middle-aged man standing in front of the table was heartbroken upon hearing this, but for the sake of his child's future, he gritted his teeth and took out ten gold coins to put in.
Then he pulled a chubby boy in his early teens who looked bewildered and somewhat well-off forward, with a fawning smile on his face.
"Master, look..."
"Put your hand out!"
The old man was equally blunt, perhaps because he knew that his dean had set extremely high admission standards, so he had long since given up hope for this admission process.
"You're not qualified, next one."
The chubby boy froze for a moment, then flew into a rage.
"Master, my child only went a little over the limit, could you please make an exception?"
The middle-aged man, with a fawning smile on his face, pulled the chubby boy back from his outburst.
"If you're not qualified, you're not qualified. You came to our school to register without even asking around beforehand."
"The registration fee..."
"Since it's already been paid, it's non-refundable!"
The old man's previously somewhat lazy expression immediately turned serious when the registration fee was mentioned, and his old face suddenly became solemn and somewhat impatient.
