Chapter 36 Ferrari in the Broom

Without thinking twice, Bai Lin tried to put the crown into the wizard's backpack, but failed. A hint appeared on the encyclopedia:

[Special quest item, contains soul fragments, cannot be stored in your inventory]

Alright, Bai Lin took out a shirt, wrapped the crown in it, and the two of them didn't go back to the Hog's Head Bar, but instead went out through the exit in the direction of Hogwarts.

The two appeared in a corridor. Two students passed by and, seeing their sudden appearance, recognized Bai Lin as a young professor who had recently gained fame among the students. They all nodded and bowed respectfully to them. Such sudden appearances were too common at Hogwarts. Even if you fell from the ceiling, it wouldn't surprise people much.

Bai Lin looked around blankly and realized that he was in the Slytherin House corridor. He didn't want to run into Snape, who was wandering around aimlessly, and ruin his good mood for the day, so he quickly pulled Catherine to the Hufflepuff portrait wall.

Strangely enough, even though it was just a painting, Bai Lin handed the crown to Edison without any trouble.

The old blacksmith glanced at it and, without a word, tossed it into the furnace in the blacksmith's shop. Bai Lin's lips twitched. He thought to himself, "Isn't there still a lot of gems on that crown? What a waste to throw it into the furnace." But then he thought, "I don't know what Voldemort's soul fragments are. Are they evenly distributed across the entire crown, or are they just in one corner? Or is it safer to destroy them all?"

Bai Lin waited quietly for Addison's result, but Harry, who was studying a spellbook in his dormitory, suddenly felt a sharp pain on his forehead and saw himself in a dark hall with a huge basilisk coiled around him... and then he fainted.

Finally, Bai Lin received a notification from the encyclopedia system:

[Destroy a piece of Tom Riddle's soul and gain 500 Hogwarts contribution points.]

[Start Side Quest: Seven Deadly Sins]

[The Seven Deadly Sins: Tom Riddle split his soul into seven pieces, hiding them in seven Horcruxes, representing Tom Riddle's seven deadly sins. Currently, five Horcruxes still exist in this world. Each Horcrux destroyed grants 5% of this world's development progress; currently, this world's development progress is 5%.]

Bai Lin felt a headache coming on. What was this "world development level" thing? However, he was pleasantly surprised that destroying a soul weapon would give him 500 contribution points, which meant he could forge another piece of equipment.

A few minutes later, Addison finished and a silver ring emerged from the painting.

Bai Lin quickly took a look. The ring had an antique design, with many small plant patterns carved on it using openwork techniques. Overall, although it lacked the glitz and glamour of pearls, it was still exquisite.

[Exquisite Mithril Ring (Rank 8) Magic Power +8, Magic Effect Amplification +10%]

Bai Lin and Catherine were pleasantly surprised. As expected of a high-quality piece of equipment obtained by destroying a magical item, its attributes were explosive. In addition to the 8 attribute points, it also had an additional 10% magical effect amplification. Bai Lin put the ring on the index finger of his left hand, and his magic power immediately reached 15 (+50), which was close to Snape's level. Bai Lin felt that he could even directly fight him.

With the remaining 500 contribution points, Bai Lin commissioned a hat that could increase magic defense, which Addison readily agreed to, telling them to come and pick it up tomorrow.

A few days passed peacefully, as Black had been exonerated and the Ministry of Magic had ordered Azkaban to remove the Dementors. However, Azkaban did not immediately carry out the order. The Dementors guarding the castle gates had indeed disappeared, but students still occasionally saw hooded shadowy figures wandering around the castle at night.

Bai Lin's assessment was: "It's easy to invite a god but hard to send him away. These Dementors have come all this way and gained nothing. How can they be willing to go back like this? The Dementors are allies of the Dark Lord. From Grindelwald to Voldemort, they have a strange connection with the Dementors. That's why the Dementors are particularly interested in Harry."

Bai Lin was actually happy to see them exist. If they all ran away, where would he find Soul-Stealing Monsters to kill? These were all precious points!

As for the students at Hogwarts, a major event was about to take place after October—the Quidditch Cup. Gryffindor hadn't won the trophy for eight consecutive years, and their captain, Wood, was about to graduate. This was his last chance, and Gryffindor had its strongest lineup in years. These days, Harry and his teammates were training incredibly hard, as if they were on steroids.

Hogwarts received two "Firebolt" flying brooms at the same time. One was the one that Bai Lin had ordered almost three months ago, while the other was a gift from Black to Harry. Bai Lin couldn't help but complain about why he didn't have to wait three months for the goods.

If there was one magical item that Bai Lin was most satisfied with, it would definitely be the flying broom. Small, fast, and agile, it was practically a godsend for home, travel, and even murder and robbery. The Firebolt, on the other hand, was the finest-crafted flying broom in the world. Harry excitedly took out his broom toolbox and couldn't find a single spot that needed fixing or polishing; it was simply perfect.

Imagine your best friend suddenly getting a Ferrari. The Gryffindor kids went crazy, vying to try out Harry's new broom. Meanwhile, the Hufflepuff kids approached Bai Lin, who then remembered that he was still a member of Hufflepuff House. He decided to let them all ride it and have some fun. Seeing the happy faces of the group of boys and girls, Bai Lin couldn't help but smile.

"Hufflepuff House is truly my destiny!" Catherine exclaimed. Seeing Bai Lin's puzzled expression, Catherine explained, "Hufflepuffs don't possess the same natural talents as the students of the other three houses, but they are all loyal, kind, and good people. Professor Dumbledore's placement of you in Hufflepuff is the highest recognition of your character."

Bai Lin suddenly realized that in the final battle of the Harry Potter story, the vast majority of Hufflepuff students stayed behind to fight the dark wizard to the death, making it the house with the most casualties. Although he was just an Easterner who had been reborn into the wizarding world, he couldn't help but feel a deep respect for these Hufflepuff students.

The Quidditch Academy Cup was quickly organized, the first match was drawing ever closer, and the weather was getting worse.

The brave Gryffindor team trained even harder under Ms. Hooch's supervision, but during their final practice session before Saturday's game, Wood delivered some bad news.

Because Slytherin's Seeker, Malfoy, claimed his hand injury hadn't healed—though everyone in the school knew he was asking for trouble. Although Bickback was released, Malfoy still used this excuse to disrupt Gryffindor's plans.
