Chapter 45: Construction Begins! The First Piece of Glass!

The next morning.

Lu Jinghe patted Gao Yang, who was still fast asleep. In the end, the girl still wouldn't let him in last night.

Although he didn't get inside, Lu Jinghe still gave Gao Yang quite a hard time.

Gao Yang opened his eyes, leaned close to Lu Jinghe's face and kissed him, complaining, "You're like a barbarian, you don't look like a proper Taoist at all."

"You got married by deception, you chose this marriage," Lu Jinghe smiled and said, "You can't escape it for the rest of your life."

"Hmph." Gao Yang snorted coldly, threatening, "You act like you can run away and abandon me? Just wait for the heavenly lightning to strike you down and turn you into a dead Taoist priest!"

"How did you sleep?"

"Thanks to you, I'm so tired... I feel like my body is falling apart."

"I was planning to go to the glass factory, but maybe we should skip it today."

Lu Jinghe felt a pang of heartache seeing Gao Yang's broken state.

He really gave Gao Yang a hard time last night, after all, there's more than one place he can go.

"Go! I have to go!" Gao Yang suddenly became determined. If she didn't go, wouldn't that mean she had given herself to Lu Jinghe for nothing?

As he spoke, Gao Yang tried to get up, but he immediately knelt down.

"hiss..."

"Does it hurt?" Lu Jinghe looked at Gao Yang, who was covering her snow-white buttocks without saying a word, and rubbed them for her.

"He's a beast..." Gao Yang cried out in pain, tears streaming down his face, filled with regret.

Why flirt with him for no reason!

"What are you doing?" Gao Yang bent over for a while, then suddenly felt a warm sensation in his back, and the pain was gone.

"A little magic can stop the pain."

Lu Jinghe wiped away Gao Yang's tears and then helped her put on her clothes.

"You rest a little longer, then go wash up. I'll go check on Xiao Sizi and A Lü."

"Get out of here."

A long time passed.

Lu Jinghe finally led a group of people to the mountain.

-

Cheng Chumo, with a precious sword at his waist, led the way, while Zheng Rentai jogged behind him.

Lu Jinghe held Xiao Sizi in one arm and supported Gao Yang with the other.

As for Ah Lü, she huddled in Xiao Si Zi's sleeve, only peeking out her head to look around.

"Brother, is this the Bobo factory you were talking about?" Little Sizi nestled in Lu Jinghe's arms, her eyes wide open.

"A glass factory," Lu Jinghe corrected Xiao Sizi with a smile.

"Glass factory!" Little Sizi nodded loudly, giggling incessantly.

Although she had no idea what glass was.

The factory building was very large, and the exterior walls were made of blue bricks.

But none of that matters. A house that's rushed out of construction, no matter how beautiful it is, can never truly be that great.

What's important is what's inside.

It was an exceptionally large kiln, or rather, three kilns, one large and two small, combined together.

They were all built with fire-resistant bricks.

The largest stove was as tall as two people, with a square base that gradually narrowed upwards.

At the top, there is a circular chimney opening.

Directly in front of the kiln is an arched doorway, which is currently sealed off with a thick iron plate.

"Brother Lu, this thing has been made exactly as you requested. What's it for?"

Cheng Chumo leaned closer and tapped his knuckles lightly twice.

"Don't touch it later if you touch it now." Lu Jinghe slapped Cheng Chumo's hand away and said, "It's still cold now, or you'll be roasted to a crisp later."

Cheng Chumo was so frightened that he jumped back a great distance, fearing that he would die young from being roasted to death by this thing.

"This thing is called a multi-stage temperature-controlled sealed kiln."

Lu Jinghe began his explanation: "At the very bottom is the combustion chamber, where you burn firewood or charcoal."

"In the middle, the raw materials are stored, such as quartz ore and kaolin."

"The upper part is for storing raw materials and can be preheated to save fuel."

Zheng Rentai quickly flattered, "Did you design this horse? It's truly amazing. Who could create something like this?"

"Mm." Lu Jinghe nodded without blushing or skipping a beat.

In any case, in this era, only he could create this thing, so it must be his creation.

"Brother Lu, what are these?"

Cheng Chumo then pointed to the pottery jars of different sizes neatly arranged to the side.

"These are crucibles."

"The raw materials are put in here to burn, and then blown out through an iron pipe."

"Blown?" Cheng Chumo was even more confused. Glass was blown out? Although he didn't know what glass was, he felt that these things were unusual.

"Glass is blown? How is that done?"

Gao Yang rolled her eyes at him, annoyed, and said, "Can't you let Jing He finish speaking? Why are you always interrupting?"

Cheng Chumo scratched his head and immediately shut up.

Lu Jinghe smiled and continued to explain, "After the raw materials are melted, they become molten glass. Molten glass is very sticky and can be used to blow shapes."

"Persimmon knows!" Little Sizi suddenly waved her hand, interrupting Lu Jinghe.

"It's...it's Sugar Lion, the one my dad brought to me, it's so much fun and so good to watch."

Lu Jinghe nodded, "Indeed, it's similar to that; both are fixed shapes blown out of melted, viscous liquid."

"What if we want to make it look like a tablet?" Gao Yang asked curiously.

"There are special molds." Lu Jinghe pointed to the squares on the ground and said to Gao Yang, "When we get home, let's bring a few pieces and replace the windows in our house with these."

Gao Yang nodded, then asked curiously, "Was the window replaced with one of those transparent ones? Like the one with the glass lamp?"

Lu Jinghe nodded and said, "Alright, all talk and no action is useless. Let's light the fire."

Soon, a worker came over and lit a fire.

Next, the craftsmen who came to learn how to operate the equipment began to put in the raw materials and ventilate the flames according to Lu Jinghe's instructions.

"Seal the gate." Lu Jinghe gave the order when he saw that it was almost time.

The worker pushed the iron plate over and blocked the opening.

Now all that's left is to wait.

Lu Jinghe observed the condition of the raw materials inside through the observation hole.

The temperature in the kiln rose quickly, and Cheng Chumo, despite being covered in sweat, stubbornly refused to back down, wanting to see the condition inside.

Lu Jinghe, on the other hand, seemed to be in ice water. Even though he was the closest, he didn't sweat at all, as if he wasn't afraid of the heat at all.

Gao Yang had already taken Xiao Sizi to a distance; the temperature was too high for her to bear.

Little Sizi, however, couldn't settle down and kept craning its neck to look inside.

"Sister, what is Brother doing?"

"A magic trick," Gao Yang replied casually, his gaze fixed on Lu Jinghe.

"A magic trick?" Little Si's eyes lit up immediately. "Persimmon wants to see a magic trick!"

About an hour and a half later, Lu Jinghe finally spoke, saying, "It's almost ready. Prepare to open the kiln."

The craftsmen immediately sprang into action, using iron hooks to pry open the iron plate.

Lu Jinghe stepped forward and used crucible tongs to remove a crucible.

Inside the crucible, the original solid raw material had turned into a flowing liquid, exhibiting a translucent orange-red color, like melted amber.

Cheng Chumo was dumbfounded and asked in confusion, "Is this glass?"

"Didn't my sister-in-law say it was transparent?"

Lu Jinghe was too lazy to explain and simply said, "It's not fully formed yet."

"Just try it slowly following the methods I tell you."

Lu Jinghe was in a dilemma. He knew the process, but he couldn't explain it. He could only let the craftsmen figure it out on their own.

"Brother, is the magic trick this red water? It's so pretty!"

Gao Yang walked over carrying Xiao Sizi and asked curiously, "After blowing it, will it be the kind of glass we have at home?"

"Yes, but I can't brag."

"How did you manage to get all that stuff in the house?"

Lu Jinghe laughed and said, "I am a Celestial Master."

As he spoke, the molten glass in the crucible suddenly floated up.

A sudden gust of wind arose inside the room, constantly rushing towards the molten glass in the air.

Soon, two little human figures were blown out.

After blowing on it, Lu Jinghe immediately cooled it down.

Two glass dolls were then created: one named Gao Yang and the other Xiao Si Zi.

Two glass dolls flew into their hands.
