The Heavenly Venerable of Primordial Beginning had a simple expectation for Fang Yang: that he continue to eliminate the Jie Sect and transform it into a true orthodox sect of Xuanmen.

To be honest, if Tongtian Jiaozhu wasn't Yuanshi Tianzun's younger brother, but just his junior brother, Yuanshi Tianzun would have destroyed the Jie Sect long ago.

The Jie Sect is one of the main branches of the Xuanmen (Taoist school). The disciples of the Jie Sect not only ruined the fortune of the Jie Sect, but also the fortune of the entire Xuanmen. If it weren't for the Tongtian Sect Master's merit in creating the world, the merit of the entire Xuanmen would have been reduced.

Why was Fang Yang so determined to eliminate the Seven Immortals of Penglai and the others? He was also afraid of being implicated!

So far, the Tongtian Sect Leader's merits are still sufficient. But one day, when his merits can no longer sustain him, Heaven will bestow karmic retribution upon the Jie Sect. At that time, all the merits Fang Yang has earned will have to be used to subsidize the Seven Immortals of Penglai and the others.

Don't think this is alarmist. Since Fang Yang is a disciple of the Jie Sect, he shares the sect's fate, whether it prospers or suffers. It's impossible for Fang Yang to remain unaffected while other disciples of the Jie Sect are burdened with karma.

If things really come to that, Fang Yang's situation will become like that of the Western Sect disciples. No matter how much he preaches and teaches sentient beings, he will not gain any merit. All his merit will have to go to fill the pits of the Seven Immortals of Penglai and Daoist Duobao.

How could Fang Yang allow such a thing to happen? He was the kind of person who wouldn't even dare to help an old man who had fallen down right in front of him. He didn't come to this prehistoric world to burn himself out to light up others, nor did he come to be a great traitor.

To put it bluntly, anyone who blocks his path, whether they are his fellow disciples or even his own brothers and disciples, he will kill without hesitation!

The Sage Taiqing and the Primordial Heavenly Venerable were extremely generous to Fang Yang, and the Goddess Nuwa also provided him with great support.

The goddess Nuwa did not reward Fang Yang with a primordial spiritual treasure, but rather with a chaotic divine object called the Chaotic Breath Soil. The wondrous uses of the Chaotic Breath Soil surpass even those of the Nine Heavens Breath Soil. Originating from chaos, the Chaotic Breath Soil contains boundless vitality, making it invariably effective in cultivating spiritual roots and divine medicines.

Fang Yang never expected that the Goddess Nuwa would reward him with such a divine object, and he was extremely grateful to the Goddess Nuwa.

For his World Tree to continue growing, it must be planted in divine soil and nourished with various forms of primordial power. The appearance of the Chaos Soil solved his immediate problem.

The mysteries of the World Tree go far beyond what we see now. Fang Yang estimates that once the World Tree truly matures, it will become a divine object no less than the Three Treasures of Creation.

"Thank you, Holy Mother!"

Fang Yang bowed deeply to the Goddess Nuwa. He did not address her as his senior sister, but rather as the Holy Mother.

He knew perfectly well that Nuwa had bestowed such a divine object upon him because he was human. For an unrelated person, Nuwa could have easily given him any decent divine object.

Nuwa nodded slightly, looking at Fang Yang, but her mind was filled with memories of the human race's past.

In the process of becoming the protagonist of the world, the human race experienced a great calamity. This calamity was caused by both the witch and demon races, but it was also a consequence sown by the human race itself.

When humanity was first born, the goddess Nuwa advised them to "build high walls, store up plenty of grain, and delay declaring themselves kings." She hoped that humanity would keep a low profile and not reveal their ambition to become the protagonists of the world too early, lest they invite the encirclement and suppression of the Wu and Yao tribes.

Unfortunately, the human race wouldn't listen!

At that time, the human race not only had a sage who acted as the Holy Mother, but also the Taiqing Sage, the head of the Three Pure Ones, who served as their religious leader. As a result, they became arrogant. They regarded themselves as the most intelligent of all beings, and they reproduced, migrated, and occupied territory at an alarming rate.

The human race was already quite conspicuous, and their actions made their intentions as clear as day. Once the Lich and Demon races saw through the human race's ambition to become the dominant force in the world, they began to purge them.

What's even more absurd is that when humanity was being slaughtered, they actually started blaming the sages of the heavens.

Some people led the condemnation of the saints, saying that the saints would not save those who were dying. There was even a saying within the human race that "the goddess Nuwa became a saint because of the human race, and she did not save those who were dying, so she is not worthy of being the saint of the human race."

What's worse, more than 70% of the human race actually agree with these claims!

After this incident, even the goddess Nuwa didn't know how to treat the human race.

Her well-intentioned reminders were ignored by the human race. After the disaster, instead of learning from the experience, the human race failed to take responsibility for the consequences and instead blamed her.

When she heard someone shout, "Nuwa is unworthy to be the Holy Mother of our human race," she felt sorrow for herself. It turned out that she, who had created the human race, owed them so much.

The doubts in Nuwa's heart disappeared when she traveled through the heavens and saw the human people who had fled to various parts of the prehistoric world.

Later, she and the Sage Taiqing let go. They stopped protecting the human race and let the human race experience the trials and tribulations on its own. They let the human race fight and struggle with all other races. That's how the current protagonist of heaven and earth came to be.

From Fang Yang, Nuwa saw the progress and growth of humanity. The humans of this era were truly different from the ignorant and arrogant humans of the past.

The human race of this era is truly practicing the four words "self-improvement and perseverance," instead of just shouting these four words as a slogan while blaming the sages for not coming to save them.

Her decision to have children was the right one!

"Fang Yang, you have two identities: one is a disciple of a great sage sect, and the other is a protagonist of heaven and earth. Both identities carry enormous responsibilities. You must cultivate diligently and shoulder your responsibilities. Only in this way will you have the opportunity to attain enlightenment."

Nuwa's voice was gentle, each word landing in Fang Yang's heart like a morning bell and evening drum, resonating deep within his soul.

Fang Yang bowed deeply again, his tone extremely solemn: "Fang Yang will remember the teachings of the Holy Mother."

He certainly wouldn't do anything that would betray his identity.

If he were not human, even if he saved the girl, the Great Emperor Shennong would not have bestowed upon him the Heaven-Mending Creation Pill. If he were not a disciple of the Jie Sect, he probably would never have achieved his current level of cultivation.

He was inseparable from the human race and the Jie Sect.

At this point, among the saints besides the Tongtian Sect Leader, three—the Taiqing Saint, the Primordial Heavenly Venerable, and the Goddess Nuwa—had bestowed precious treasures upon Fang Yang.

The two Western Saints exchanged a glance, neither willing to be outdone.

The Sage of Guidance clasped his hands together, his countenance solemn, and spoke softly: "Nephew Fang Yang is the most outstanding rising star of our Xuanmen. Although our West is barren, we should still do our best to support his cultivation."

With a wave of his hand, another magical book floated to Fang Yang's front.

"This supernatural power is called the Art of Attaining the Dao in Dreams. Once my nephew has mastered this supernatural power, he will be able to enter the three thousand realms in dreams and comprehend the Great Dao in different identities."

The moment the Sage of Reception uttered these words, everyone present was astonished, including the Sage of Zhunti. He looked at the Sage of Reception with surprise, seemingly unable to understand why the Sage of Reception would show such great favor to Fang Yang.

It should be noted that even among the disciples of the Western Sect, only Maitreya Daojun and Medicine Master Daojun learned this technique of attaining enlightenment in dreams.

The Sage of Guidance ignored everyone's shock, including Fang Yang's. He raised his hand and pointed, and the Dream Proving Technique entered Fang Yang's sea of consciousness.

Fang Yang had not expected the Sage to be so generous. He composed himself and bowed to the Sage in gratitude: "Disciple thanks Uncle-Master for his generous gift!"

The Sage who guided the way smiled kindly: "As long as my junior brother remembers that both the East and the West are the primordial wilderness, then my efforts will not have been in vain."

Fang Yang understood and bowed again: "Uncle-Master's words of wisdom are well-received and will be kept in mind. East and West both belong to the primordial world, and the Jie Sect and the Western Sect both belong to the Xuanmen, so they should naturally be of the same ilk."

He was preoccupied with purging the Jie Sect and spreading his teachings to all races; he had neither the time nor the need to actively provoke the Western Sect. He readily accepted the goodwill extended by the Sage of Guidance, content with each side taking what they needed.

Seeing that Jieyin had gone to great lengths, the Sage Zhunti dared not be negligent and taught Fangyang the Zhunti Great Divine Mantra.

This divine incantation is one that transforms the power of faith into defensive power to protect oneself. As long as the power of faith continues, the Great Divine Mantra of Cundi will not weaken, making it extremely powerful.

The immortals looked at Fang Yang, who had received the rewards from the five sages, and were so envious that they wished they could take his place.

The Taoist Ran Deng couldn't bear to watch any longer. He had won the final victory in the assembly before, but he had never received such a reward.

"Honorable sages, I also wish to become your disciple. Why is it that no one is willing to accept me as their student?"

Heaven is unjust! It's so unfair!

The Taoist Ran Deng felt dizzy; his heart was filled with hatred, to the point that he injured himself.
