Chapter 89 Kidnapping
Chapter 89 Kidnapping
After the night raid, Rudius no longer took Thomas's threat seriously.
Perhaps the Gileadians are most vigilant at night.
Thomas couldn't possibly bring people to infiltrate the mansion as helpers, so what could he do alone?
So what if he's blinded by greed?
Rudius pondered what he would do in his place—luring the tiger away from the mountain or taking advantage of the chaos?
For example, set fire to the mansion, then kidnap Alice in the chaos?
The smoke from the fire would mask the orcs' sense of smell, and the chaotic crowd would also cover up their voices.
All you need to do is get to Alice's side and say, "I'll take care of Alice for now. Please go and protect Lord Sauros and Lord Philip." This will likely get Gilead away.
If you want to start a fire, you need to set up a ignition point so that the fire can spread quickly.
Rudius observed the location of the flammable fuel in the house and found that it was no different from usual.
Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye, and Thomas tested Rudius twice more.
The questions were all trivial, and after Rudius gave Thomas a perfunctory answer, he felt that Thomas's expression was somewhat gloomy compared to usual.
Philip didn't ask Rudius about returning home, so it's now certain that Thomas was behind it all.
Should we go directly to Philip and report him?
Not yet.
There is no conclusive evidence yet to prove Thomas's motives.
I've already established a good relationship with the maids, so I'll ask them questions and gather their testimonies first.
When Philip asks about it later, I can take the opportunity to demonstrate my abilities.
Then, in the early hours of another Friday morning, Rudius woke up on an unfamiliar floor.
With no time to pay attention to his surroundings, Rudius felt pain all over his body, as if he had been roughly thrown around like a piece of luggage.
What's the situation now?
He frowned, exhaled, and shifted slightly on his side on the floor.
I didn't feel any severe pain in that area, so there shouldn't be a fracture.
Once he started moving, Rudius found that his hands were tied behind his back, so he used the dim light to observe his surroundings.
This place looks like a storage room, filled with broken ironware and broken tables and chairs.
There was no one else in the room; Rudius was the only one there.
The healing magic was activated silently, and the pain in my body quickly dissipated.
The cold, foul odor of the ground was corroding his body. Rudeus moved his numb limbs and coughed lightly, irritated by the dust on the ground.
The airflow stirred up more dust, which then swirled in the air.
Rudius stared blankly at the swirling dust until his numb body recovered, at which point he slowly sat up, supporting himself on the stone ground.
I've been kidnapped —
Without panic or hesitation, Rudeus had only one thought in his mind—escape.
He looked up at the door, then at the iron window.
The room was not made of stone; the windows were made of rammed earth walls and were blocked by metal rods.
I listened intently to the sounds outside the door.
Half a minute later, Rudius took a deep breath and decisively burned the ropes binding his hands.
Without any delay, he took off his shoes, not caring whether they would get his clothes dirty, and stuffed them directly into his pocket.
The magic activated, and Rudeus felt a lightness in his body as he walked towards the window.
The feet roll gently to the ground, moving forward silently while maintaining a large stride.
At the same time, magic began to gather in his legs, ready to unleash the ice wall at any moment.
Rudeus reached the window, pressed his hand against the wall to feel its texture, and then, using his magical perception to pinpoint the exact location of the metal, released a mixture of water and earth magic to break the window open.
A dozen seconds later, Rudius picked up two metal rods and gently placed them outside the window. He was about to climb out when he realized something was wrong.
My resolve began to waver slightly.
After quickly looking around the room again, he turned back.
Rudius glanced one last time at the closed door and walked toward the corner of the room.
Earth magic was activated, and a hole that only a child could crawl into appeared, and it kept getting deeper and deeper.
Once he was certain that even with torches, he couldn't see the bottom of the cave, Rudeus quickly returned to the window and used geothermal magic to evaporate the water.
He pushed himself up with both hands, climbed out of the window, picked up two metal rods, put them back in their original positions, and used earth magic to repair the damaged window.
Quickly turn your body to the side so as not to block the light streaming in through the window.
Rudius felt relieved and looked up to look around.
This is a small alley.
Without hesitation, Rudius ran straight towards the wall and then kicked it up.
Barefoot and with a relatively light weight, they made almost no sound.
With a burst of speed from his feet, Rudius leaped toward the opposite wall.
With the aid of magic, Rudeus jumped over the wall three times before landing on the roof.
As I retreated inside the walled enclosure, I took out my shoes and put them on one by one, my thoughts beginning to churn.
From waking up to escaping, it took less than five minutes, and probably even less, because Rudius felt time slowed down after realizing he had been kidnapped.
Digging holes and repairing windows were done immediately on the spur of the moment, with almost no hesitation.
If asked what use it was, Rudius thought, it was probably just to buy time. He just wanted to cause trouble for the other side since he had some leeway. Why think about that? Forget about it.
After realizing he had been kidnapped, Rudius never considered the possibility of confronting his captors directly.
Instinctively speaking, this is cowardice.
But now that I think about it, in that narrow terrain and facing an unknown enemy, it was indeed the right choice.
Rudius peeked out from the corner of the wall at the room he had just escaped from, a thought rising in his mind to blast the entire house to smithereens.
Magic began to gather in his arm, but after taking a deep breath, it slowly dissipated.
No, I can't do something so conspicuous—
Rudius frowned, glanced at the iron window again, and then looked away.
If Alice isn't in the room, then he must have been the only one kidnapped.
The reasons for kidnapping him were quite valid, and the timing was perfect.
Tomorrow was supposed to be the day he went home. Even if he disappeared tonight, no one would find it strange. By the time his parents came looking for him, the kidnapper would have long since vanished.
Rudius recalled Philip's reminder that the Greirat bloodline was very valuable.
"Thomas—" Rudius murmured, a dangerous glint in his eyes.
Don't think so much—there's no need to save anyone, and don't think about revenge.
Reason told him that leaving this place as soon as possible was the best option.
With the flight magic activated, Rudeus slowly ascended into the air under the cover of night, taking in the small town in its entirety.
After finding the public carriage, he slowly landed.
Rudius first needs to know where he is, and the bus stop and fare information will be written on the wall at the public carriage waiting area.
After gathering the necessary information, Rudeus took off again, dispersing the magic he had accumulated to unleash the ice wall, and flew towards Roya.
The distance from here to Roya is about 20 kilometers. Considering the kidnappers' speed, this distance should be the limit they can reach.
However, for Rudius, it was less than half an hour's journey.
Sitting cross-legged in the sky, Rudius recalled the town he had just seen, which also had city walls.
Although not as tall and sturdy as Roya, it is in the common understanding that it can definitely block a child.
Once the kidnappers realize they're missing, they'll probably just search the town instead of leaving immediately, right?
Flying through the air, Rudius finally could no longer suppress his emotions. The thought of revenge began to surface, and the more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He started to mutter curses under his breath: "Damn it, damn it, damn it."
I'm going back right now to call my men and fuck you bastards to death.
You will all die!
#!
#I'll kill you all!
With a surge of magic, Rudeus accelerated once more, flying towards Roya.
Ten minutes later, Rudius landed on the familiar rooftop.
He turned and entered the corridor, walking with even footsteps toward Gilead's room.
He knocked twice on the door, pushed it open, and Gilead sat up and looked at him.
"Rudeus?" Kyrie Irving called out habitually at first, then immediately became serious and asked, "What's wrong?"
"I've been kidnapped," Rudeus said succinctly.
"What?" Giren didn't quite understand what he meant, but he still picked up his sword and walked over.
"Gilead, can you help me cut them down?" Rudeus asked.
"No problem." Sensing the anger emanating from Rudeus, Kyrie Irvine replied earnestly.
"Thank you." With that, Rudius walked towards Alice's room. "Then let's take Miss to Uncle Philip's place first."
Upon arriving at Alice's room, Gilead picked her up and carried her back to Philip's room.
Looking at the sleeping Alice, Rudeus breathed a sigh of relief.
After greeting the guards, the three went to Philip's bedroom.
The maid, hearing the commotion, woke the couple up.
Wearing a bathrobe, Philip rubbed his temples and asked, "What's wrong, Rudius?"
Rudius stood by the bed and said, "I've been kidnapped, Uncle Philip."
A moment of silence fell over the room. Philip lifted the covers, sat sideways on the edge of the bed, looked at Rudius, and quickly regained his senses.
After Kyrielight handed Alice to Hilda, he returned to Rudeus's side.
Hilda took Alice from her, gently stroked her head, and looked at Rudeus with a worried expression, but ultimately said nothing.
"So what are you planning to do?" Philip asked.
"I plan to take Girenius to kill them," Rudius added, looking directly into Philip's eyes. "Also, I suspect Thomas is their mole, and I hope Uncle Philip will take him into custody first."
"Shall we go now?"
"Let's go now."
"Where is it located?"
"In Westin."
"Witting?" Philip frowned and asked.
"Um."
"How will you get there?"
Rudius glanced at the maid standing in the corner at a distance, then took two steps closer to Philip and whispered in a voice the maid couldn't hear, "I'll fly over with Gilead."
Seeing Rudius's determined gaze and realizing that the other man wasn't lying, Philip said to Hilda, "Darling, you go to sleep first, I need to go out for a bit."
After saying that, he stood up and walked towards the door.
Hilda withdrew her gaze from her husband and said to Rudeus, "Be careful."
"Okay." Rudeus bowed slightly to Hilda and left the room with Kyrie Irvine.
Philip put on his robe and issued a series of orders to his guards.
"Uncle Philip, let's head over there now," Rudius interjected during the break.
"Rudius, if possible, try to leave one alive. I will send someone to meet you," Philip said.
"OK."
Rudius led Girenius to the rooftop and gave a brief explanation.
"Will you carry me?" Kyrie Irvine asked.
"Yes," Rudius affirmed.
There's not much wind in the flying magic, so Kyrie Irving won't feel cold even if he's wearing a bikini.
He carried Kyrie Il on his back and used magic to distribute the weight on their bodies, and the two gradually rose into the air.
Feeling the softness behind his head, Rudeus felt less angry.
Of course, not being angry doesn't mean you won't hurt people anymore.
Isn't it more elegant to chop someone down while smiling?
Flying in the air, Kyriano looked at the scenery on the ground with curiosity.
Neither of them spoke, but Rudius felt her heart beating faster than usual.
The return flight to Wittling was slower, and it was Rudius's first time leading a group into the air.
However, about half an hour later, the two arrived at Westin.
After some searching, it landed smoothly in a "familiar" alley.
Rudius looked at the iron window again and grinned.
He led Gilead on a walk around the house.
After confirming there were no other exits, Rudeus said, "Gilead, just cut off their arms. I'll use healing magic to stop the bleeding."
"Alright," Kyrie Irvine replied, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword.
"Do you need me to come along?" Rudius asked.
"No need, Rudius, you should hide first."
"How about I fly up into the sky first?"
That would be best.
Rudius took off again, and as he flew past the rooftops, Kyriano burst through the door.
A series of loud noises and a couple of screams began to emanate from inside the room.
Rudius had just come to a stop about thirty meters above the ground.
Gilead had already come out of the room.
"Rudeus!" Kyrie Irvine shouted into the air.
"Huh?" Rudius landed quickly. "Is it over?"
"Yes," Kyrie Irvine nodded firmly, hands on his hips.
After saying that, he calmly led Rudeus into the house, his wagging tail giving off a leisurely feeling.
Rudeus used his magical light to follow behind and saw a bald man who had lost both arms next to a broken wall.
His face was covered with a thick beard, and he stared blankly at the ceiling, looking like he was barely breathing.
Rudeus quickly stepped forward, placed his hand on the other person, and used healing magic to stop the bleeding.
It stinks horribly.
This thing hasn't been bathed in days.
Rudius held his breath.
I was going to kick it, but now the smell is so strong it's disgusting to even get close.
After the treatment is completed, quickly step aside.
"There's another one over there," Kyrie Irvine said.
Rudeus took a deep breath, strode to the second person, and held his breath as he released a healing spell.
This person did have hair, but his face was covered in scars, and he wasn't much to look at. Both of them looked like bandits.
Gilead brought the bald man over and placed the two of them together.
Rudius stepped aside to get some fresh air before asking, "Should we tie them up?"
"Can you tie someone up?" Kyrie Irvine asked, turning around.
"What's so hard about that? Just twist them around a few times and tie a knot that's impossible to untie, right?" Rudius tilted his head. "Wait a minute, do you want me to tie them up? But they stink like hell!"
Rudeus, standing at a distance, cast an earth spell, trapping the two inside. "Alright, is that enough?" Rudeus said. "Gilead, come here quickly."
Kyrie Illustrious stared at the two coffin boxes on the ground for a moment before walking toward Rudius.
Watching the boy washing his hands with water magic, he ultimately said nothing.
"Gileado, come, wash your hands," Rudeus said, handing over the prepared water.
"Oh." Kyrie Irvine stepped forward, took the water, and began to wash himself carefully.
Rudius glanced at the sky outside, unsure how long it would be before dawn.
If he doesn't come home on time, Paul and Senis will worry again.
