Chapter 152 Ye Chong is Jealous!

The backstage rest area for the Spring Festival Gala wasn't very warm, and it was still a bit chilly. The noise from the corridor and the applause from afar rose and fell.

Ye Chong opened his eyes groggily, still covered with the thick blanket that Liu's mother had draped over him.

He rubbed his throbbing temples, sat up straight, and his head was still a little dizzy.

Liu's mother, who was standing next to him, put down her phone and looked up at him.

"Awake? I saw you were sleeping soundly, so I didn't have the heart to wake you."

Ye Chong nodded, lifted the blanket, stood up, and stretched his stiff shoulders and neck.

A familiar female voice came from outside the door, soft and sweet—it was Yifei's voice.

He slowed his pace and walked along the corridor toward the side door of the studio. Just as he turned the corner, Ye Chong suddenly stopped and stood still.

At a side entrance not far away, Yi Fei and Nicholas Tse walked out side by side.

Yifei changed into a beige cashmere coat and carried her own handbag.

Nicholas Tse walked beside her, talking to her with his head down.

Yifei listened attentively, nodding occasionally with a faint smile on her lips.

After they finished speaking, Nicholas Tse smiled, waved his hand, and turned to walk in another direction.

Yi Fei turned around and met Ye Chong's gaze from not far away.

Her eyes lit up, and she quickly walked towards Ye Chong, her tone full of affection: "Little man, you're awake? You were sleeping like a little pig just now, I couldn't wake you up no matter how much I called you."

As she spoke, she reached out to touch Ye Chong's arm, but he dodged her by turning to the side.

Yifei's hand froze in mid-air, her smile faded slightly, and she raised an eyebrow.

Ye Chong didn't look at her or say anything, and turned to walk towards the rest area.

He felt a tightness in his chest, a sour feeling, as if he had swallowed a whole unripe lemon.

It was Chinese New Year, and I had just woken up to see my sister walking with another man.

They were still laughing so happily that they didn't even come to find me right away when I woke up.

Even if it's for work, you can't get that close to other men, especially since you have a conflict with this person.

Liu's mother watched Ye Chong walk back with a cold face, and then looked at Yi Fei following behind.

She put down her knitting, stood up, and said, "Let's pack up. It's getting late, we should head back to our lodgings. Xiao Ye's parents have arranged to have hot pot at Wangfujing, we can't be late."

Yifei nodded, picked up her bag from the sofa, and glanced at Ye Chong again.

Ye Chong picked up his coat from the back of the chair and went out first.

He walked quickly, without looking back or waiting for Yifei and Liu's mother behind him.

Ten minutes later.

The car drove smoothly through the streets of Kyoto late at night, with fireworks exploding outside the window from time to time.

Ye Chong sat in the passenger seat, looking straight ahead the entire time, leaning back in his seat, without saying a word.

Yifei sat in the back row, looking at the back of his head, her brows furrowing slightly.

This young man, who is usually so sweet-talking, is acting like a silent gourd today.

She leaned forward, patted the back of the passenger seat, and spoke.

"Little man, what's wrong with you? You haven't said a word since. Who upset you? Tell me, and I'll teach them a lesson."

Ye Chong continued to look out the window, only managing to squeeze out two words: "It's nothing."

His tone was harsh, lacking any of his usual gentleness, and it was clear he was angry.

"Nothing? If nothing's wrong, who are you trying to impress with that long face?" Yifei snorted.

Liu's mother sat beside her, gently tugged at Yifei's arm, and shook her head at her.

The atmosphere in the car instantly turned cold, and no one spoke the entire way to Anning Huating.

He knew very well that there was no reason for him to be acting this way.

But I just couldn't stop feeling sour. The thought of Qian laughing and joking with others made me feel choked up.

Half an hour later, the three arrived at Wangfujing Street.

Red lanterns hung from the shops along the street, and the faces of passersby were all beaming with the joy of the New Year.

Ye Chong walked beside Yi Fei, still not saying much, his hands in his coat pockets. Yi Fei would occasionally glance at him, her eyes filled with suspicion, but she didn't initiate any more conversation.

The two followed Liu's mother into the hot pot restaurant they had booked. The waiter immediately came up to them and led the three of them to a private room.

Pushing open the door to the private room, Zhou Tang and Ye Pengcheng were already there, sitting at their seats flipping through the menu. Upon seeing the group enter, Zhou Tang immediately put down the menu and greeted them with a smile.

She bypassed Ye Chong, grabbed Yi Fei's hand, and showered her with concern and affection: "Xian Bao'er's here! Come in, come in quickly. It's freezing outside, are you alright?"

"You sang that song on the Spring Festival Gala so well, it was so beautiful!"

Yi Fei blushed with pride at the compliment and quickly helped Zhou Tang to her seat.

Ye Pengcheng also stood up, smiled憨厚ly, and greeted each of them one by one.

Ye Chong greeted his parents and then quietly walked to his seat.

The copper pot in the private room was quickly brought out, the red oil bubbling and steaming, creating a lively atmosphere.

Zhou Tang held the serving chopsticks and kept putting food on Yi Fei's plate, praising her non-stop: "Xian Bao'er, quickly try this tender beef, just cook it for a few seconds."

"Thank you, Aunt Zhou!"

"No need to thank me. Xianbao'er is beautiful and sings well. It's really Ye Chong's good fortune to have found you."

.

Yifei blushed with pride at the compliment and quickly picked up the serving chopsticks to serve food to Zhou Tang and Ye Pengcheng. Liu's mother also chimed in with a smile, and the elders chatted enthusiastically in a very harmonious atmosphere.

Only Ye Chong sat quietly to the side, simmering the meat in the hot pot. He didn't say much or touch his chopsticks much at all.

The tripe in the pot was bubbling in the red oil. He stared blankly at the bubbling bubbles, lost in thought.

He didn't even realize the tripe was overcooked until Yifei touched the rim of his bowl with her chopsticks.

He snapped out of his daze, glanced at Yifei, then quickly looked down and continued stirring the dipping sauce in his bowl.

The elders could all tell that something was wrong with him.

But he couldn't suppress his jealousy, and he was too stubborn to admit that he was jealous. It would be too embarrassing for him to say it out loud. How could a great director like him be upset over such a small thing?

He acted like a child, but Yifei didn't play along. While the elders were talking about the Spring Festival Gala programs, Yifei moved closer to Ye Chong.

She nudged Ye Chong's arm with her elbow, leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "Hey, little man, what are you so angry about? Can't you just tell me the truth?"

Ye Chong moved aside, ignoring her, and continued stirring the sesame paste in his bowl.

Looking at his stubborn, childlike demeanor, Yifei suddenly realized something and couldn't help but smile.

She moved closer to him, her tone teasing with a knowing glint in her eyes: "Oh, I finally know, are you jealous? Did you see me walking with Nicholas Tse?"

Ye Chong paused abruptly with his chopsticks in his hand.

He stubbornly remained silent, simply taking the cooked duck intestines out of the pot on his own.

He stuffed it into his mouth and chewed it vigorously, as if venting his anger.

Looking at his pitiful expression, Yifei felt both amused and soft-hearted.

She reached out and pinched his cheek, then leaned close to his ear and whispered her explanation.

"You, you're so petty! Someone came up to me, and I was just being polite. Is that not allowed?"

Ye Chong's eyes darted around, he glanced at her, and mumbled a reply, "No way!"

"How can you be so domineering!"

"Love is inherently domineering!"
