Chapter 119 Lou Ge's Slightly Tipsy Moment
It was past nine o'clock at night when the show ended.
Chen Bainian only took two small sips this time, and he was still quite sober.
He helped Jiang Yiting, whose cheeks were flushed from the alcohol, put on her trench coat, and the two of them walked outside with the others.
The lanterns at the entrance of Rong Mansion were still lit, casting a warm yellow glow on the steps.
When people pass by the two of them, they all stop and greet Jiang Yiting.
"Brother Lou, come again soon!"
"Yes, you're always welcome here."
Jiang Yiting replied with a smile, "Okay, I'll come again next time for a free meal."
The night breeze swept through Xixi Wetland, carrying moisture and the temperature of early summer.
Jiang Yiting was already slightly tipsy, and the wind made her feet feel a little unsteady.
Chen Bainian saw this and quickly helped her up.
Xu Haoran had finished the remaining work and caught up from behind.
He glanced at the two of them, then patted Chen Bainian on the shoulder: "Old Chen, you take Brother Lou back to Diu first. I'll keep an eye on things here and see the rest of the people off."
Chen Bainian glanced at the situation of everyone in the studio, then nodded and said, "Then I'll leave this to you."
Jiang Yiting didn't refuse and followed Chen Bainian to the side of the road.
A suppressed gasp came from behind.
I don't know who started it, but then it all started with a series of meaningful "oh" sounds.
Upon hearing the sound, Jiang Yiting paused, but didn't turn around; instead, the corners of her mouth unconsciously curved upwards.
Chen Bainian didn't turn around, but simply opened the car door and helped Jiang Yiting get in.
He himself went around to the other side and got into the car.
The car started and slowly drove away from the Rongfu Courtyard, which is surrounded by Xixi Wetland.
The commotion behind them gradually faded into the distance.
The streetlights outside the window swept past one by one, casting light and shadow into the car.
Jiang Yiting leaned back in her chair, the slow effects of the alcohol starting to rise in her head after the evening breeze, making her head feel slightly heavy.
She glanced at Chen Bainian beside her, her vision slightly blurred, unable to see clearly.
So, she subconsciously moved closer, rested her chin on his shoulder, and naturally wrapped her arms around his.
She leaned softly against him.
Chen Bainian's body froze instantly.
A soft, warm touch came from his arms, which were being held, through their thin clothes.
I could hear her slightly rapid breathing, which was a little too much from drinking.
Chen Bainian's heart began to beat faster involuntarily, and his breathing began to change in rhythm with the sounds around him.
He took a deep breath and turned to look out of the car.
My gaze lingered on the passing streetlights, and my mind began to deliberately wander to other things.
For example, if I'm going to buy a car tomorrow, what should I pay attention to?
For example, I'll be going home in June, and besides work, I need to settle things with everyone else.
As I pondered these things, my focus unconsciously circled back to the people around me.
Chen Bainian sighed helplessly, relaxed his body, and lowered his posture slightly so that she wouldn't feel uncomfortable with her chin tilted back.
"Little brother," Jiang Yiting mumbled sleepily, her voice slightly unsteady, "your eyelashes are so long."
She seemed to have never looked at his face so closely before.
"It looks pretty good." Jiang Yiting said, reaching out a hand to gently touch his eyelashes. "I feel like if I were to do your makeup, I wouldn't even need to wear false eyelashes."
As she loosened one of her arms, Chen Bainian finally felt a little relieved.
However, upon sensing the subtle movements coming from in front of him, Chen Bai smiled and raised his free left hand to grab her fidgeting right hand.
"Hmm?" Jiang Yiting let out a soft hum with a hint of doubt.
"It itches," Chen Bainian explained softly.
"Oh," Jiang Yiting replied helplessly, then changed the subject, "Little brother, your colleagues are quite interesting."
As Chen Bainian listened, he recalled what had happened in the private room earlier and couldn't help but smile slightly. "Mm."
"That Cheng Zhixing, he even stutters when he speaks."
"Maybe he was nervous."
Chen Bainian knew that people who were drunk could generally be divided into two categories.
One type is like him, quiet and peaceful, who might fall asleep at any time.
Another type, much like Jiang Yiting in front of us, might start nagging at any moment.
Chen Bainian wasn't impatient at all, and just chatted with Jiang Yiting in a casual manner.
"What's there to be nervous about? I'm not going to eat you."
Chen Bainian chuckled softly.
Jiang Yiting wanted to say something more, but her phone suddenly started vibrating continuously in her pocket.
She frowned, and Chen Bainian released her hand at the opportune moment.
He struggled to pull out his phone, opened the message, and squinted to read it.
In the blink of an eye after someone tagged her in the chat group, dozens or even hundreds of messages had been sent.
Jiang Yiting scrolled up and saw that someone had posted the group photo from the celebration banquet that the official account of Changshou Games had posted.
The group chat has exploded:
—Holy crap, Lou said he was going to freeload a meal, but he actually went to attend the celebration party hosted by Chijiu and the others?
—I didn't see any other streamers, it seems like she was the only one invited?
—Look at her and the guy next door's innerwear, don't they look like they're wearing matching outfits?
—@12th Floor, Brother Lou, please come out and explain!
Jiang Yiting couldn't help but laugh out loud as she watched.
She shoved her phone in front of Chen Bainian's eyes: "Look."
Chen Bainian stretched out his finger and looked through it, but did not say anything.
After he finished reading, Jiang Yiting put away her phone and started typing on the virtual keyboard.
A simple recursive shape:
I am the unofficial chief publicity officer of Changshou Games. I am a partner, neighbor and good friend of Teacher Chen!
After finishing the call, Jiang Yiting handed the phone to Chen Bainian again: "Take a look, is this okay?"
Chen Bainian glanced at it, a faint smile appearing on his lips: "Let's go this way."
Jiang Yiting then pressed the send button and muttered to herself, "They definitely won't believe it."
"Mm," Chen Bainian simply replied with a smile.
Sure enough, after the message was sent, the group was only briefly quiet before it exploded again:
—Unofficial Chief Publicity Officer? I was already thinking of complaining when I read the blog earlier. What kind of position is this anyway?
—Brother Lou, are you serious?
—A neighbor? Wait, did I miss something?
—Partners + neighbors + good friends, is that many elements?
—@12th Floor, Brother Lou, say a few more words. How did you and Brother Chichi meet?
Jiang Yiting glanced at the messages in the group chat, chuckled softly, and didn't reply. She then shoved her phone back into her pocket.
