Chapter 486 SKT's Trump Card
In the third game, SKT, as the loser, chose the red side.
No one knows what SKT is planning, but the match must go on. EDG banned Rakan and Lee Sin as usual.
These are both heroes that EDG tends to avoid when playing against SKT, and they are generally not allowed to be released unless there are unexpected circumstances.
SKT still prioritized sending out Jayce, since they hadn't let him go in the first two games. With Li Chen back in the top lane this game, they were even less likely to let him go.
However, in the second instance, they ignored Xerath and instead banned Kalista.
Now that Li Chen has become EDG's third player, he's unsure of SKT's intentions. However, targeting the mid lane is definitely the right strategy when playing against SKT, just like how other teams target him when playing against EDG – it all comes down to ID.
"EDG banned Galio as their third pick, which is now one of Faker's signature champions. They wanted to relieve some pressure on the mid lane. However, SKT didn't target the top lane again and instead banned Morgana."
If that's the case, is SKT planning to pick some champions with hard crowd control? EDG will pick first; let's see what they think. Lulu is revealed, then Janna, then Karma, and finally Karma is locked in.
SKT wasn't surprised by EDG's picks, since Karma is often the go-to champion for EDG.
"It won't affect us much. Whether we go mid or support, it's the same. We'll still pick AD and jungle first, Twitch and Jarvan IV, that's it."
Kouma continued to select people according to his predetermined plan without making any changes.
"Prince and Twitch, is SKT planning to dominate the bot lane?" Clearlove asked, somewhat puzzled.
nofe speculated, "They might be trying to fool us. Xiao Hei's playstyle is more like Bengi's. When he plays, he usually focuses on the mid lane and doesn't benefit much from playing the bottom lane."
"We've already picked Karma, so let's stick with Varus. No matter how they play, we're going to play a 4-1 split push this game, pushing straight down the top lane. Jarvan IV jungle is still relatively easy to get 1v2ed."
While rubbing his wrist, Li Chen made tactical arrangements for the round.
A portrait of Varus appeared, flashed a few times, and then locked onto the target.
Then, unsurprisingly, Sejuani appeared on the third floor of EDG's map. As one of Clearlove's signature champions, she is arguably the one he feels most comfortable playing right now.
Looking at the lineup EDG locked in, Kkoma smiled and said, "EDG still dares to pick Varus? Do they think they can win in the top lane? Even if god_C hadn't been injured, this is still impossible!"
Faker, lock down Renekton. Our strategy no longer requires a counter pick for top lane. A Renekton with a level advantage isn't afraid of any champion. Save your champion for last, so the enemy doesn't have a chance to counter him.
Faker nodded slightly, then locked the crocodile.
Miller found this scene unbelievable: "What? SKT dares to pick Renekton for top lane first? This champion is useless in the late game if you can't get an advantage in the early game."
Guan Zeyuan frowned and said, "They probably felt that C's hand injury affected his operation, so they picked Renekton first, preparing to exert early pressure on the top lane. After all, Renekton has almost no natural counters in the top lane at the same skill level."
Rita said without hesitation, "SKT will pay the price for their reckless decision. Even with C injured, he is still unmatched in the top lane."
[Oh right, even a cripple can brag.]
[Geneva, brothers, report him for me.]
[It's 6202 already, how come there are still royal fans?]
Our monks' army is never afraid of trouble; as we always say, we fight until we have no regrets!
Huni has committed the sin of arrogance.
While the comments section was buzzing with heated discussion, both sides had already quickly completed the second round of negotiations.
SKT banned Syndra and Corki, while EDG banned Taliyah and Ryze.
Now it was SKT's turn to pick a champion. After the screen froze for more than 20 seconds, a champion that no one expected appeared on the screen.
The ocean is boundless!
"Titan? They want to use Titan as support? Are they really going to gank the bot lane relentlessly?" Clearlove's expression changed slightly.
Li Chen frowned slightly and said, "It's not certain yet. I feel they have other ideas. Have you forgotten about the first game?"
After a moment's thought, the factory manager countered, "In the first game, you mean the rat went to gank the top lane? Did they abandon the bottom lane then? How much experience did they lose?"
"Let's see how it goes. We don't have many champions left to pick in the mid lane. Scout, you can play Orianna. We don't need to be able to win in the mid lane, but if the bot lane gets targeted, just go and help them out occasionally," Li Chen instructed.
"Yes, sir!"
Scout nodded emphatically. This was the last game, and he didn't know what the opponent was going to use. He was actually a little nervous.
With the last pick left—top lane—nofe asked, "C-God, what are you planning to use this game?"
Li Chen pondered for a moment, then softly uttered two words.
The factory manager glanced at him and asked, "You're playing Renekton this game? What if the enemy team catches you in the early game? A Renekton with a level and gold lead isn't easy to beat. Don't let this turn into a loss."
"Want to catch me? Then try it!" Li Chen smiled slightly, his words filled with unparalleled confidence.
Since he chose this hero in this game, he must have already made some kind of preparation.
As for SKT's little tricks, he could only say they were too superficial. Having watched matches and various strategies for over a decade, he had seen all sorts of tactics. SKT's methods were simply not enough.
As the hero was locked in, their exclusive voice lines resounded throughout the arena.
A sharp sword, a sharp eye!
"Fiora, he still chooses such an extreme champion. He's an extremely confident, even arrogant, player. But since we know you're strong, how could we not prepare a countermeasure?"
Koma shook his head slightly and said, "We already used Twitch to gank the top lane in the first game. Given his personality, he will definitely be more careful. So in this game, we'll use a feint, a mix of real and feint, and defeat him using god_C's own methods. You guys sacrifice yourselves in the bottom lane."
Wolf glanced at Huni, and for some reason, he had a bad feeling.
