Chapter 66 Did the rabbit suck on it?
Su Wuli then said, "...Keep it."
Su Yuan glanced at her, said nothing more, and turned to leave with the rabbit in her arms.
He muttered to himself, "This is really strange...where did it come from..."
Although I was curious, I didn't ask too many questions.
"Kiri, I heard you fell badly while practicing horseback riding? How are you? Are you alright? I called you first thing this morning—"
Suddenly, a concerned voice broke in.
It's Wen Yan.
She ran into Su Yuan at the door just now, so they came in together.
I was putting something in the living room outside and haven't come in yet.
He came in now, but stopped abruptly halfway through his sentence.
She almost bumped into Su Yuan, who was carrying a rabbit and walking out.
Wen Yan took a step back, her gaze falling on the fluffy ball in Su Yuan's arms.
Her sunglasses had slipped down halfway, revealing a pair of wide, beautiful eyes underneath.
"What...what is this? A rabbit? Alive?"
Su Yuan stood there awkwardly, holding the rabbit.
He then quickly glanced at Su Wuli on the bed and hummed in agreement.
Wen Yan's gaze shifted from the rabbit to Su Yuan's somewhat evasive face.
Then I looked at my friend sitting on the bed, wearing pajamas and with her hair slightly messy.
"Sure, Su Xiaoli." Wen Yan's tone immediately changed.
With a mix of suspicion and amusement, he took off his sunglasses and walked step by step toward the bedside.
"I heard you fell off your horse and rushed over early this morning to comfort the wounded, but here you are... when did you recover? You didn't even tell me."
She gave a soft hum, "I often show you my baby."
Upon hearing this, a hint of guilt flashed across Su Wuli's face.
She needs to have time to speak.
Wen Yan sat down on the edge of the bed naturally, leaned closer to Su Wuli, and looked her face up and down several times.
Suddenly his gaze fixed on Su Wuli's neck.
A suggestive red mark was visible near the collar, partially obscured by loose hair.
Wen Yan's eyebrows immediately rose high.
Su Wuli noticed her gaze and subconsciously raised her hand to pull up her collar.
But her fingers touched the wild fruit that Su Yuan had been holding in her hand when she turned around.
Wild fruits fell.
Wen Yan, with her sharp eyes, followed her movements.
"What's this?" She reached out and picked up the fruit.
I held it between my fingers and examined it. The fruit still had leaves attached. "So natural? Where did it come from?"
Wen Yan looked up at the fruit, then at the rabbit in Su Yuan's arms.
Finally, his gaze returned to Su Wuli's neck.
The expression on his face changed from suspicion to a meaningful inquiry.
"Su Wuli." Wen Yan put down the fruit.
He leaned forward, lowered his voice, and his eyes revealed a gossipy look.
"Tell me honestly, what exactly did you do last night? Don't tell me you were so frightened that you had the mood to go for a quick run through the countryside in the middle of the night? And... bring back a souvenir?"
Her gaze swept meaningfully over the rabbit and wild fruit, finally settling on the hickey.
A playful smile curved his lips.
"And this... Surely it wasn't this rabbit that you sucked on it, was it? Its teeth are that strong?"
Su Wuli's face immediately turned bright red.
She pulled up the collar of her pajamas forcefully, trying to cover up the mark.
Her eyes darted away, avoiding Wen Yan's gaze, and she mumbled a reply, "...It's...it was there when I woke up..."
Su Yuan stood at the door holding the rabbit, opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately swallowed her words.
Wen Yan didn't say anything more, but just stared at Su Wuli for several seconds.
Su Wuli could feel her friend's gaze scanning her from head to toe like an X-ray.
After a moment, the playful smile on Wen Yan's face faded, and her brows furrowed instead.
"You really don't know?" she asked again.
The voice was more serious than before, but the suspicion within it was no less.
"I opened my eyes to find a living creature in my arms and a bunch of wild fruits, plus a mark on my neck?"
Su Wuli nodded slightly, her eyes still wandering.
Wen Yan paused for a moment, then patted her on the shoulder lightly.
"Fine, if you don't want to talk about it, I won't force you."
She stood up, her gaze still probing. "But looking at you... are you really going to horse training today? Are you sure you can manage?"
Upon hearing this, Su Wuli slowly raised her head and said, "I'm going."
Wen Yan turned to Su Yuan, her words carrying a hidden meaning, and said, "Xiao Yuan, get the rabbit out of there first, find a place... and see how to deal with it."
Upon hearing this, Su Yuan quickly went out with the rabbit in her arms.
Su Wuli looked up and met her friend's gaze, only to see the other person sigh softly.
He then said, "Wu Li, in our line of work, some things are fine to play around with, but we have to clean things up and not leave any loose ends."
She paused, then lowered her voice even further, "Especially those of unknown origin."
