She's clinging to him now, kissing his face, just so he'll take her out.

She herself felt she had gone a bit too far, but she didn't want to get involved anymore.

I just want to be willful and unreasonable for once.

All she wanted was to see him all the time.

Yu Chen refused, so Su Wuli kept kissing him.

Until I heard him sigh, "Get up and wash up."

Hearing this, Su Wuli finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Um."

Breakfast was laid out on the low table. She drank a couple of mouthfuls of porridge and broke off half a steamed bun but didn't finish it.

Yu Chen ate the remaining half of her steamed bun, then took away the bowls and plates and placed them outside the tent curtain.

…………

The main tent was quiet, with several lieutenants sitting on either side.

They needed to discuss something, so Su Wuli naturally wouldn't go in.

Although she wanted to stay by Yu Chen's side and watch over him all the time, she still couldn't let their business be delayed.

Su Wuli moved a chair herself and sat outside the main tent to wait.

The curtains were drawn, so she couldn't see inside.

The people inside couldn't see her either.

She curled her legs up on the chair and lowered her head.

There was snow on the ground, and she subconsciously scooped up a small handful of snow.

Shape it into a small ball and place it on the armrest of the chair.

Then I scooped up a handful, pinched a smaller one, and placed it next to the large dumpling.

Soon, the three snowmen lined up in a row, crookedly looking like a family of three.

When the lieutenants came out of the main tent, they saw her squatting next to the chair.

My fingers are red from the cold as I'm pressing the nose of the smallest snowman.

Su Wuli pressed a small, withered twig and stuck it on the snowman's face.

The lieutenants exchanged glances.

Someone's lips twitched slightly, but they suppressed it.

Some people looked away, but couldn't help looking back.

They had spent most of their lives in the military, and were used to seeing swords, spears, and bloodshed.

Suddenly I saw a girl squatting in the snow making a snowman, just like when she was at home playing with her younger siblings during the Chinese New Year.

It was a bit unexpected, and it felt strange.

I can't quite put my finger on what's strange about it, but it reminds me a bit of my own daughter.

No one spoke, and they all went their separate ways.

At this moment, Feng Xi was walking over from the camp gate, holding some kind of document in his hand.

He approached and saw Su Wuli sitting outside the main tent, and paused for a moment.

"Young Master Su?"

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli looked up at him.

He brushed the snow off his hands and asked, "Did you go to the wounded soldiers' camp to have your bandages changed today?"

Feng Xi paused for a moment, looking down at her right hand wrapped in gauze. "It's been changed. The army doctor said it's recovering well."

"That's good." Su Wuli nodded, then urged, "Go in quickly, he's waiting."

"Yes." Feng Xi responded and lifted the curtain to go inside.

He took two steps, then stopped and looked back.

Su Wuli was bending down, pressing the eyes of the smallest snowman.

The stones were two small pebbles, one higher and one lower.

Feng Xi glanced at it, then turned around and went inside.

When the last lieutenant came out, he nodded to her.

Su Wuli nodded, not knowing the other person's name.

When Yu Chen came out, she was squatting next to the chair.

Holding a handful of snow, I'm building what's probably my umpteenth snowman.

The snowman was smaller than the smallest one, only the size of her thumb, and it was placed next to the chair leg, tilting slightly in the wind.

She quickly shielded it from the wind with her hand, and only let go after it had stabilized itself.

Hearing the noise, Su Wuli looked up at him.

"Look." She pointed to the three snowmen on the armrest, and then to the smaller one next to the chair leg.

Yu Chen squatted down in front of her, looking at the row of crooked snowmen.

Looking at her slightly red hands, I asked, "Are you cold?"

Su Wuli shook her head, "I'm not cold."

After saying that, he put his hands into his sleeves.

Yu Chen saw her withdraw her hand but did not expose her.

"Is it all over?" she asked.

"Hmm," Yu Chen replied. "Are you hungry?"

"I'm hungry." She took the snowmen off the chair one by one and lined them up on the floor.

Follow him into the main tent.

As soon as Yu Chen sat down, Su Wuli walked over to him and sat on his lap.

He was slightly startled.

Normally, he would be very happy if Su Wuli took the initiative like this.

She's not being proactive now; she's feeling uneasy.

Su Wuli curled up against him.

Yu Chen brushed his fingers against the back of her hand, then pulled her hand out of his sleeve and held it in his palm.

Then she turned her hand over so that her palm was facing up, and you could clearly see the red marks on her palm from the snow.

He then put his hands together and cupped them in his palms.

Gently rub it.

I rubbed it a few times, then scooped it up and breathed on it.

The breath was hot, and it landed on the back of Su Wuli's hand.

His fingers slowly curled in his palm, changing from cool to warm.

"Wear gloves next time," Yu Chen reminded him.

"I understand." Su Wuli nodded, looking down at the two people's clasped hands.

Lunch was delivered quickly.

Yu Chen picked up a piece of meat and put it in her bowl.

He picked up another piece right after eating the first one.

She ate again.

Su Wuli suddenly stopped eating and looked up at him.

"Why aren't you eating?" She picked up a piece of meat and held it to his mouth.

He opened his mouth and ate it.

Su Wuli picked up another piece of green vegetable and handed it over.

In the end, the two of them took turns eating and finished their meal.

Then she took the initiative to put her hand into his palm.

Yu Chen tightened his grip, and her hand slowly warmed in his palm.

She leaned on his shoulder, closed her eyes, and her eyelids slowly drooped.

Yu Chen brushed his hand against the back of her hand.

She hummed in response, but didn't open her eyes.

"Do you want to take a break?" he asked, looking down at her.

"I'm not sleepy." Su Wuli shook her head, rubbing her chin against his shoulder.

Yu Chen sighed.

Su Wuli opened her eyes upon hearing this, then lifted her head from his shoulder to look at his face.

"What's wrong?"

He looked at her but did not answer.

Su Wuli thought for a moment and then asked him, "Are you sleepy?"

After he finished speaking, Yu Chen was stunned for a moment.

He then nodded. "Mm."

Seeing this, Su Wuli stood up, grabbed his hand, and pulled him up from the chair.

"Take a break from work." She led him outside. "Go back and rest."

Yu Chen then let her lead him and followed behind her.

Su Wuli walked very fast, her steps were somewhat hurried.

She ignored his slowing pace and pulled him forward by the hand.

As soon as he entered the tent, Su Wuli pressed him down onto the bed.

"Lie down."
