Desperate people, accept the seed of my soul!

Chapter 443 You all say you're just a shot giver

"Don't come any closer! I'm going to sound the alarm!"

Her hand touched the red alarm button on the wall, and she pressed it hard.

A piercing alarm sounded in the corridor.

Li Su did not stop.

She raised her right hand, pointing her five fingers in the direction of Nurse Wang, and made a grabbing motion in the air.

An invisible force pulled Nurse Wang up from the wall.

Her feet were off the ground, dangling in mid-air, her neck felt like it was being gripped by an invisible hand, and her face turned bluish-purple.

The shards of the enamel teacup spun and flew up at her feet, the broken pieces being drawn into the psychic field, swirling around Li Su's fingers like a flock of silver butterflies.

"No, don't kill me—"

Nurse Wang's voice was squeezed out of her throat, broken and intermittent.

"I'm just someone who gives injections! I do what I'm told! If I don't, I'll lose my job!"

Li Su looked at her.

"My child's livelihood, Zhao Yuan's livelihood, Dr. Cheng's livelihood—you all call it your livelihood. For your livelihood, my child lost his life. For your livelihood, Zhao Yuan was beaten to death in the basement. For your livelihood, Dr. Cheng never walked out of that room again."

"You all say you're just someone who gives injections."

Her fingers slowly closed.

Nurse Wang's neck made a crisp cracking sound.

Her body twitched, then remained still.

The nurse, in her early twenties, screamed and ran towards the stairwell.

Her shoes slipped on the broken bricks, she fell, got up and kept running.

Li Su turned her head and swept her telekinetic energy across the area.

The young nurse was slammed against the corridor wall like a fly swatted against a wall. The wall plaster crumbled, bricks were exposed, and her body was embedded in the dent. A trickle of blood escaped from the corner of her mouth, and her eyes were wide open.

The nurse, around thirty years old, slumped to the ground, her legs too weak to stand, and the stench of incontinence filled the corridor.

She clasped her hands together, her lips trembling, repeating the same sentence over and over.

"I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong—"

Li Su walked up to her.

"What did you do wrong?"

"I... I shouldn't have given you the injection—"

"That's it?"

"I, I—"

The nurse was speechless.

She didn't know where she went wrong.

All she knew was that kneeling and begging for mercy was the right thing to do; she would say anything to keep Li Su from killing her.

Li Su looked at her and suddenly found it ridiculous.

This person has no idea what they did wrong.

In her mind, giving injections to patients was simply her job. She would administer the injections after the doctor wrote a prescription. She never considered what the medications might do to people, because she felt it wasn't her responsibility.

Li Su reached out and grabbed her neck.

She didn't use telekinesis.

She used her hands.

Her fingers clenched together, her nails digging into the skin of the nurse's neck, and she could feel the pulse pounding violently under her fingertips.

The nurse's face changed from white to red, from red to purple, and from purple to blue.

Then she stopped struggling.

Li Su released her grip, and the nurse's body lay limply in the pile of broken bricks, her eyes still open, her pupils reflecting the constantly flashing fluorescent lights on the ceiling.

A series of footsteps echoed from the other end of the corridor.

Seven male caregivers rushed up the stairwell.

They were awakened by the alarm, thinking it was another patient in one of the wards who had fallen ill and needed to be controlled. The lead caregiver was Zhang Biao, a big guy who was 1.85 meters tall. He used to carry coal in the coal mine, and his arms were thicker than Li Su's thighs.

He was holding a restraint strap in his hand and had a half-smoked cigarette dangling from his mouth.

"Which ward is causing trouble?"

He turned into the stairwell and saw the scene in the corridor.

Nurse Wang's body hung in mid-air, her neck twisted at an angle no living person could possibly have, blood still trickling from her mouth. The young nurse's body was embedded in the wall, as if she had been hammered in. The third nurse lay on the ground, the bruises on her neck clearly visible.

Zhang Biao dropped his cigarette on the ground.

The six caregivers behind him stopped in their tracks at the same time.

The corridor was quiet for a few seconds.

Then one of the caregivers turned and ran.

Li Su pushed her finger forward.

Broken bricks, shards of porcelain, and fragments of iron gate were all carried away by the power of telekinesis.

The broken bricks hit the caregiver running in front on the back, knocking him to the ground. He broke three ribs and lay on the ground coughing up blood, unable to get up.

The shards of porcelain flew across the corridor like razors, slicing into the thigh of the second caregiver. Blood instantly stained his white trousers, and he screamed and collapsed to his knees.

Zhang Biao roared and charged forward.

He was indeed very strong; at 1.85 meters tall, he ran like a small bulldozer, and when he rushed over, the ground tiles vibrated as he stepped on the broken bricks.

But Li Su only raised one finger.

The telekinetic energy condensed into an invisible spear, piercing through Zhang Biao's chest and exiting through his back. There was no wound, no bleeding, but his heart was directly crushed by the telekinetic energy.

Zhang Biao suddenly stopped during his sprint.

His body was still propelled forward, his upper body lurching forward, his knees hitting the ground first, then his face. His face slammed into the pile of rubble, the sound of his nose bone cracking echoing down the corridor.

The remaining four caregivers completely broke down.

They fled towards the stairwell, crying and shoving, trampling each other, none willing to be the last. From the stairwell came muffled thuds and screams of agony as they tumbled down the steps.

Li Su did not intend to let them escape.

Her thoughts spread out, turning the entire corridor into the palm of her hand.

The four caregivers were simultaneously pulled back by an irresistible force. Their bodies were dragged along the ceiling of the corridor, their backs smashing fluorescent lights one by one, and shards of glass fell down in a flurry.

The four people were suspended from the ceiling, flailing their arms and legs, and making incoherent pleas for mercy.

Li Su clenched his five fingers.

Four sounds of bones cracking rang out simultaneously.

The four bodies fell simultaneously into the pile of rubble, kicking up clouds of dust.

The corridor became quiet.

All that remained were the terrified screams of patients in the distant wards and the monotonous, piercing buzzing of the alarm.

Li Su walked barefoot over the broken bricks and corpses scattered on the ground, step by step, toward the stairwell.

As she passed by an open ward, she saw a patient inside who, like her, was strapped to the bed.

It was an elderly woman with a full head of white hair and a face covered in wrinkles, her wrists bound with the same canvas restraints. Her gaze passed over the railing, fixed directly on Li Su in the corridor.

Then the old man smiled.

"Are you here to rescue us?"

The old man's voice was weak, but there was no fear in his tone.

Li Su paused for a moment.

She turned her head, looked into the old man's cloudy eyes, and did not answer the question.

She continued walking forward.

We passed another ward.

A teenager was peering through the small glass window of the door, his face pressed against the glass, his eyes shining like two stars.

"Sister! Which superhero are you?"
