Chapter 30 Shi Yu

"What the hell is that look on your face? Don't look like I got the better deal," Ma Hongjun said indignantly, unable to hold back his profanity. "I just stopped the flames, otherwise you would all have been burned to death!"

"You!" Xiao Wu stomped her foot and waved her fist, while Tang San looked constipated. He had already been told both good and bad things, and if he continued to argue, things would get really bad.

Glancing at Ning Mumu, Tang San sensed that beneath her beautiful face lay a secret. This Ning Mumu was far from simple; this kind of thing wouldn't happen again.

"Hey, finally found you!" Dai Mubai waved, but then realized something was wrong. "You guys, what's this?"

"I just went out to buy breakfast and had a little scuffle with this boy in red," Ning Mumu explained. "It's nothing now."

Dai Mubai seemed skeptical, then excitedly began to introduce, "I forgot to mention yesterday, there are three of us from Shrek Academy: me, Oscar, and this gentleman in front of you, Ma Hongjun!"

Dai Mubai's tone was normal, but no one paid any attention to him. However, he was not discouraged and said with a grin, "Now, with the four of you, there are seven of us."

"It's fine, we're all classmates, we became friends after a little misunderstanding." Ning Mumu smoothed things over. "By the way, where is the school cafeteria? I've been looking for it all morning, I'm quite hungry."

"I'll take you there!" Dai Mubai was finally relieved. He looked at Ning Mumu gratefully and led the group to have a meal.

After finally finishing their hasty breakfast, the group headed to the playground as soon as the assembly bell rang.

"Is it an entrance ceremony?" Ning Luoluo asked, puzzled. "I remember every college has this ceremony."

Ning Mumu shook her head. "I don't know either."

As they were talking, a middle-aged man and a teenager walked over.

The middle-aged man appeared to be around fifty years old, about 1.8 meters tall, with a strong physique and an imposing presence. His slightly long hair partially obscured his eyes. The first thing one noticed was his glasses; his slightly long hair concealed his cunning.

The boy was dressed in black, his long hair covering part of his face, the half of his face that was exposed was so white it glowed, with typical thin lips and a clear jawline, he was a rare handsome man.

However, for some reason, he seemed to have little presence; at least, most people present didn't notice him. Only Ning Mumu seemed to sense something different, a strange sense of familiarity.

Ning Mumu activated her Soul-Capturing Technique but found nothing different. The only oddity was that Ning Mumu had actually met him when she was a child, but she barely remembered him. It was strange that he had also come to Shrek Academy.

"Am I overthinking it?" Ning Mumu withdrew her Soul-Capturing Technique, thinking she would observe again later. She always trusted her intuition.

"A swindler!" Xiao Wu exclaimed as soon as the middle-aged man appeared.

"Huh?" Oscar looked at Xiao Wu, puzzled. "What kind of shrewd businessman? This is the dean of our Shrek Academy!"

"What nonsense are you spouting about my teacher?" Ma Hongjun's voice was disdainful, seemingly mocking Xiao Wu's foolishness. "Dean Flander is a level 78 Soul Saint, what are you yelling about, you stupid rabbit!"

"Hey, you idiot, what are you yelling about?" Xiao Wu retorted. "He's clearly a swindler! He cheated my brother out of three hundred gold soul coins!"

"Bullshit!" Ma Hongjun rushed in front of Xiao Wu, seemingly about to attack at any moment.

"Hongjun!" Before Ma Hongjun could explode in anger, Flander had already stopped the commotion. "We'll all be in the same academy from now on, how can you keep arguing like this?"

"Okay, teacher." Ma Hongjun retreated to Flander's side and obediently lowered his head. Xiao Wu didn't say anything more.

Seeing that the situation was under control, Flander spoke up: "Very good, our academy has enrolled five students this year, congratulations!"

Flander pushed the boy forward. "This is my new recruit from yesterday, Shi Yu. His martial soul is the Demon-Slaying Sword. He is a level 29 offensive-type battle soul master. Like you, he is also twelve years old."

Shi Yu was not good with words, so he nodded without saying anything. However, he was also a genius of level twenty-nine, and everyone understood that he had some minor flaws.

After everyone introduced themselves, Flander repeated the school rules: "Here, we will use the strictest methods to train you. Those who are lazy, cunning, or weak can leave now."

Flander scanned the group, and everyone had no objections. "Very good, this year's freshmen are quite obedient. However, I assure you, as long as you graduate safely and on time, you will surely make a name for yourselves in the Douluo Continent!"

"Remember, Shrek doesn't tolerate useless people," Flander concluded. "You guys get yourself in good shape today, and training starts tomorrow."

Listening to the Lord's words is like listening to the words.

Ning Mumu selectively ignored Flander; every second she saw Shi Yu, her heart pounded wildly. A mix of familiarity and strangeness mingled, making her both disliked and pitied. These conflicting emotions left Ning Mumu feeling a tightness in her chest.

Shi Yu, who are you? Why do I feel strange even though I don't remember you?

No, I have to find the answer sooner or later. Ning Mumu remained outwardly calm, but in reality, she had already devised a plan. She couldn't calm down until she resolved the panic caused by Shi Yu. Twelve years after her rebirth in Douluo Continent, this was the first time Ning Mumu had felt this sense of panic.

Nothing in the night

"Very good, you've arrived on time." Flander stood on the playground, his tone stern. "Well then, today is your first training session."

A flawless version after careful inspection!

"Follow me."

Flander led the way, his speed was not slow, even extremely fast. Dai Mubai, Ning Mumu, and Shi Yu were the fastest, following behind calmly, showing no signs of exertion. Tang San and Ning Luoluo followed closely behind, and Ma Hongjun and Xiao Wu were at the very back. They were neither agility-based nor had high soul power, so they lagged behind.

After traversing open fields and villages, Flanders led them to the city of Soto.

It was the busiest time of day in town. Vendors were everywhere, and the aroma of food wafted through the air. Xiao Wu, lagging behind, was naturally curious. She had just had a fight with Ma Hongjun and felt incredibly wronged. Even her third brother wouldn't help her. If it weren't for Flander's strength, she would have run off to play.

"Alright," Flander stopped, pointed to a small teahouse, and led the group to sit down. "Seven cups of tea, the cheapest kind."

"Is this training session going to be just tea?" Xiao Wu muttered, her eyes darting around.

As usual, Ma Hongjun retorted, "You're overthinking it. Nobody's as stupid as you!"

Xiao Wu gritted her teeth in anger, clinging to Tang San, looking utterly aggrieved. Tang San, however, unseen by the others, revealed a sinister and violent glint in his eyes. "Very well, Ma Hongjun, you've found your way to death!"

"Alright," Flander said, stretching out his hand and pointing to the side, "Today's training session is over there."

Following the direction Flander pointed, everyone looked and saw a tall and imposing building.

Dai Mubai was somewhat surprised. "Dean, are we taking them there on the very first day?"

Flander nodded. "Shrek has its own training methods. They're all monsters, so this is how it should be done."

"The first training session is a practical combat lesson," Flander said. "Soul Masters are not flowers in a greenhouse. To become strong, combat is essential, and the Soul Arena is the best place to accumulate practical combat experience."
