I flew on a sword at the magic academy
Chapter 38 Questioning
Chapter 38 Questioning (Part 1)
The third young master of the Norman family reacted quickly, flying more than twenty meters backward, and a bright green vine whip appeared in his hand.
When this vine whip is swung, it can be more than 30 meters long, with barbs and spikes on its surface, resembling a giant python lashing out at Shi Daohan.
Shi Daohan neither dodged nor flinched, but gripped the vine whip with one hand, a faint purple glow flowing between his fingers, unafraid of the barbs and thorns on the whip.
She raised her other hand and flicked her finger, unleashing a sword beam that instantly pierced the young man's body, causing him to scream and roll far away on the ground.
Shi Daohan tossed aside the rattan whip in his hand, stepped in front of the young man, looked down at him with a cold smile on his face.
"The third young master of the Norman family, we meet again."
The young man's chest was pierced, and blood gushed out. After realizing that the person who ambushed him was Shi Daohan, he was first surprised and then furious.
"I didn't lay a hand on you, but you attacked me first!"
"Is there something wrong with it?" Shi Daohan looked down at him with a cold smile on his face.
"You worthless bastard from the East! Do you even know who I am?!"
The third young master of the Norman family stared at Shi Daohan with a ferocious expression, his face contorted in pain and anger.
In response to his words, Shi Daohan kicked him away, sending him flying and crashing into a wall with a loud bang.
"Tell me, how exactly did the old man's children die?"
Shi Daohan walked over step by step, pulled the young man back from under the rubble, and then threw five short swords, which pierced the joints of his four limbs, pinning him to the ground and rendering him unable to move.
"You worthless bastard from the East, I'll haunt you even in hell!"
"Why do people always say such useless and provocative things?" Shi Daohan sneered and shook his head, saying, "A beast in human clothing like you, even dying a thousand times wouldn't be enough to wash away the sins you've committed in this life. Killing you like this would be too easy for you. I'll play with you slowly today."
With that, she placed one foot on the young man's face and said coldly, "How exactly did the old man's children die?"
"Bastard!"
"Very well, keep cursing. I want to see just how tough you really are."
Shi Daohan flipped his hand, and the short sword piercing the young man's wrist rang out, slowly rotating and twisting, writhing his flesh and tendons. Blood gushed out, quickly staining the ground red.
"Ah—! This is none of your business, why are you so nosy!" The third young master of the Norman family let out a heart-wrenching scream, almost fainting from the pain, but was pulled back by Shi Daohan sending him some spiritual power.
Shi Daohan wouldn't dare say she's a particularly righteous person; there are so many injustices and unfair things in the world that she can't possibly manage them all.
But since she has encountered this situation, she cannot ignore it or sit idly by, because she is a living, breathing person with feelings.
"I told you, can you let me go?"
"You have no right to negotiate with me, because I have plenty of ways to make you talk to me." Shi Daohan shrugged dismissively and continued, "If you tell me now, I can give you a quick and easy solution."
"Say it now while you still have the patience, or you'll miss your chance."
At this moment, in the eyes of the third young master of the Norman family, Shi Daohan was as terrifying as the Grim Reaper from hell. He could no longer bear this inhuman torture and took the initiative to admit that the old man's children in the tavern were killed by several alchemists from their Norman family.
The Norman family bribed high-ranking figures at the Rotwark Magic Academy at a considerable cost, and under the pretext of training, took the old man's children out of the academy, where they were killed by a magical beast, creating the illusion of an accidental death.
Of course, besides these, they have done many other despicable things behind the scenes, which are infuriating to hear about.
"I've told you everything, can you spare my life?" A glimmer of hope appeared in the eyes of the third young master of the Norman family. He knew it was just wishful thinking. The young woman in front of him gave off a cold and ruthless feeling, and it was clear that she would not let him go so easily.
"When you were harming others, did you never think about leaving them a way to live? When you forced women into prostitution, ruined families, and caused the loss of wives and children, did you ever think about leaving them a way to live?"
Shi Daohan looked at him with cold eyes, and withdrew all the short swords that were piercing his joints, leaving only one for him to end his own life.
The third young master of the Norman family felt extremely aggrieved and could not accept this way of dying.
"This is the most leniency I can give you. If you can't bring yourself to do it, I don't mind using ancient Chinese punishments to send you on your way." A smile appeared on Shi Daohan's cold face.
"You!" The third young master of the Norman family trembled with rage. He never imagined that he would one day fall to such a state.
"Hurry up and get started, my patience is running out."
"You...I..." The third young master of the Norman family was so frustrated that he couldn't even speak. Finally, he roared, "The Norman family will definitely avenge me!"
"puff"
He held the dagger to his neck, slashed hard, and blood spurted out, thus ending his sinful life.
Shi Daohan remained completely calm. Although she was only seventeen years old, the mindset she had cultivated over those seventeen years far surpassed that of her peers.
For the next three days, the town of Silfe remained calm, but everyone knew that this was only the calm before the storm.
It wasn't until the fourth day, when several other alchemists from the Norman family returned from out of town, that another fierce gunfight broke out between them and the Cyril family, affecting both towns.
"Have you heard? The third young master of the Norman family has gone missing."
"How could that be? Wasn't that an alchemist?"
"Who knows? Anyway, the Norman family sent out a lot of people to search, but they couldn't find it."
"Could it have been eaten by wolves?"
"What nonsense! Do you think an alchemist can't defeat a pack of wolves?"
"I think it was most likely the work of the Cyril family from the next town. Haven't they been fighting the Norman family these past few days? The disappearance of the Norman family's third young master must be related to them."
……
Many people in the town of Silfe were whispering among themselves.
At first, Shi Daohan didn't care much, because the alchemists who came back from the Norman family were all of ordinary strength and could not be considered strong at all. She could slap them all away with one hand, so she was not afraid that they would come looking for her.
However, just a few days later, things took an unexpected turn. Behemoth's people also arrived in the town of Silfe, including several high-ranking figures whose strength was unclear.
"Does the third young master of the Norman family hold some important position in Behemoth? But his abilities are clearly quite average; he couldn't possibly be a high-ranking member, could he?"
Shi Daohan shook her head, feeling that this possibility was very small, because Behemoth had a very high weight in the world, and even she could not deduce any information about this organization.
How could someone like the third young master of the Norman family possibly hold a high-ranking position in such an important organization?
"They probably want to step in and resolve the conflict between the Norman and Cyril families," Shi Daohan guessed, as this was the most likely explanation.
After all, both families have alchemists and belong to Behemoth. A life-or-death struggle would not benefit either side.
"It seems we can't expect those two families to fight like dogs."
Shi Daohan murmured this, then released a terrifying aura of killing intent and fighting spirit, enveloping the entire town.
She transformed into the appearance of a young man, with delicate features and a white crane-patterned Taoist robe as pure as snow, untouched by the mortal world, fluttering even without wind, making her appear ethereal and otherworldly.
The townspeople were unaware of what had happened and were filled with fear and unease. Many of them came out onto the main street to look around, and just then they saw Shi Daohan walking towards the mansion where the Norman family lived.
"Who is this person?"
"Just looking at his back makes me feel like I can't breathe!"
"Isn't that the Norman family's mansion in that direction? Could they be guests of the Norman family?"
"Judging from this situation, it doesn't seem like they're visiting someone. It's probably that the Norman family has messed with someone they shouldn't have, and now that person has come to settle accounts."
More and more people gathered on both sides of the street. Although they were afraid and uneasy because of the aura emanating from Shi Daohan and dared not approach, they still showed nervous and excited expressions and followed him from a distance toward the Norman family mansion.
"Bang"
Not long after, the Norman family's gate shattered with a loud "bang," as if a massive hammer had struck it.
Chaos erupted inside the mansion, with shouts and curses escaping from within.
"Who is it?!"
"Who dares to come here and cause trouble?!"
A dozen or so figures rushed out, each one burly and fierce-looking. But as soon as they burst out of the gate, they were all intimidated by Shi Daohan's aura. They all shivered involuntarily, and swallowed back the curses that were on the tip of their tongues.
Shi Daohan merely glanced at them coldly: "If you know what's good for you, get out of the way and don't block the way."
The dozen or so burly men looked at each other in dismay. The man in front of them looked to be only sixteen or seventeen years old, with thin arms and legs, but he gave off an indescribable sense of oppression and intimidation.
After a long silence, they all tactfully stepped aside, making way for Shi Daohan.
The person in front of them was definitely not an ordinary person. They were just thugs hired by the Norman family. They could scare ordinary people on a normal day, but to ask them to go against alchemists, magicians and other "outcasts" who were different from ordinary people would be tantamount to suicide.
"Why hasn't this been resolved yet? What am I keeping you guys for?"
Just then, a middle-aged man in a tuxedo walked out of the mansion, cursing and swearing.
"Which bastard dares to cause trouble here? Doesn't he know that the Alchemists of Behemoth are temporarily staying here?!"
Shi Daohan raised his finger and beckoned, and the middle-aged man was immediately lifted up by a spiritual force.
"What...what are you going to do? Several of Behemoth's esteemed guests are currently visiting the Norman family. Don't cause any trouble!"
The middle-aged man shouted loudly, his face filled with fear.
"Noisy." Shi Daohan casually waved his hand, tossing it into the crowd behind him.
The townspeople followed her to the Norman family mansion, wanting to see what she was up to, and what they saw was this scene.
"I imagine this guy has bullied you a lot in the past, hasn't he? Hit him all you want. Don't worry about being retaliated against by the Norman family later, because that family is about to cease to exist," Shi Daohan said to the crowd behind him.
Whether in the East or the West, these "outcasts" who are different from ordinary people cannot directly attack ordinary people because special organizations such as the Suppression Division and the Magic Guild are watching them.
"You son of a bitch, you'll pay me back my sister's life!"
"Let's attack together and avenge our fallen loved ones!"
Several angry roars rang out from the crowd.
A thin, young boy grabbed the middle-aged man by the collar and delivered a heavy punch to his face.
"You little brat, how dare you hit me?!"
The middle-aged man in the luxurious tailcoat glared at the boy, his eyes seeming to spit fire.
"Go to hell! I'm going to hit you!" Someone rushed over and kicked him in the head.
The town's residents almost hated the Norman family to the core. Many of them had suffered abuse and bullying at their hands, and they all harbored a deep-seated rage.
At this moment, one person followed, and two others joined in, punching and kicking the middle-aged man dressed in an expensive tailcoat.
They didn't care whether they would be purged by the Norman family in the future; they wanted to vent all the hatred and resentment they had been holding in for years.
"Who's causing trouble?"
Several middle-aged men dressed in luxurious silks and a few elderly men emerged from the mansion, their faces filled with anger.
"Master, please keep your voice down. Look at that person..." a woman who looked like a servant whispered a reminder from the side.
"Quickly, quickly go and invite the alchemists of Behemoth out!" An old man's face showed a look of fear.
Seeing his expression, the leading man frowned slightly in displeasure: "Uncle, isn't that just a teenager? Why are you so nervous?"
"Shut up! Look carefully where he's from and what he's wearing!" the old man said in a low voice.
The man, puzzled, said, "Isn't he just someone from the Eastern China? He looks like he's wearing ancient Chinese clothing, doesn't he?"
"You idiot! He's wearing a Taoist robe from the East!" The old man was so exasperated he almost cried, and he slammed his cane heavily on the ground as he spoke.
