Chapter 190 Lao Tzu leaves Hangu Pass to the west and converts barbarians to Buddhism
After learning that the true spirit of the Tongtian Sect Leader had entered the cycle of reincarnation, Chu Feng stopped interfering.
He knew that a new game had begun and that he needed to prepare again.
Time flies, and hundreds of years have passed in the blink of an eye. Time is like fine sand, slipping through our fingers.
As for the saints, they were all confined to their respective monasteries.
Now, hundreds of years have passed since the beginning of human history, and few people know of the existence of the Sage.
The sage Laozi was reincarnated as Li Dan of the human race.
When he was born, he was weak but had a large head, broad eyebrows and wide ears, clear eyes like pearls in a deep abyss, and a nose with double bridges like ruts. Because of his double ears, he was named Dan.
During Laozi's upbringing, he studied under Shang Rong, and later, with Shang Rong's recommendation, he entered the capital of the Zhou Dynasty to meet a scholar and study at the Imperial Academy.
During this period, Li Dan studied astronomy, geography, humanities and other subjects extensively, making great progress in his knowledge. He was recommended by the scholars to serve as the Keeper of the Archives in the Zhou Dynasty.
He read extensively through the famous classics collected by the Zhou Dynasty, and his knowledge became increasingly rich, but because of this, he wanted to resign from his official post and live in seclusion.
As time went by, the Zhou Dynasty, after several generations of emperors and millions of years, eventually came to an end.
The Spring and Autumn Period ended, and the Warring States Period began.
When the world was in chaos, Lao Tzu witnessed the suffering of the people and decided to use his knowledge to save the world, using himself as a chess piece to navigate the game of the world.
During this period, countless thinkers emerged one after another.
Because Lao Tzu's primordial spirit was attached to the Dao, his understanding of the Dao far surpassed that of others, so he founded Taoism and began to spread the Dao.
Not long after Lao Tzu founded Taoism and began preaching, the memories of his previous life as the Sage of Taiqing were fully awakened.
At the same time, his health also improved.
However, his act of rebelling against Hongjun alongside Tongtian Jiaozhu was completely erased by Hongjun Laozu.
Lao Tzu, who grew up among humans, had a mindset completely different from that of the previous Taiqing Sage.
Looking back on the past and present, Lao Tzu finally understood what Nuwa meant when she told the sage Nuwa in ancient times, "You stand too high."
Saints are high above, unaware of the suffering and death of the people in the mountains and rivers. Even if they are saints, what are they?
After understanding that saying, Lao Tzu spent several days contemplating the Tao, experiencing the sorrows of humankind, and hoping for the joy of the people.
He abandoned his former mindset as the Supreme Saint and devoted himself to spreading the Tao among the human race.
That day, he stopped at a mountain village. His attendant stepped forward and said, "Sir, it's getting late. There's a village ahead. Shall we rest there?"
"Very well, you must be tired too. Let's continue our journey tomorrow." Lao Tzu nodded.
After the two entered the mountain village, they found that the village was deserted and dilapidated, with many farm tools and walls bearing marks of knives and swords.
The servant, carrying his bundle, glanced at the gloomy village, swallowed hard, and said, "Sir, shall we continue on our way? I suddenly don't feel tired anymore."
"No problem, with me here, what little devil would dare to do evil?"
Lao Tzu chuckled, strode forward, and then sent his disciples to investigate each house.
After a thorough examination, Lao Tzu said, "It seems that this village has suffered a great calamity, causing the villagers to flee in panic, and even the food on the table has been overturned."
"I saw blood in the houses over there earlier, sir. Why don't you go and take a look?" the servant said with a wry smile.
"Come with me." Laozi stepped forward, his stride like a dragon and the gait of a tiger, exuding an extraordinary aura. Standing at eight feet eight inches tall, he walked ahead, his figure so prominent that even the disciple could not be seen.
Upon arriving at the house, before even pushing open the fence, Laozi frowned and raised his hand to stop his disciple from continuing forward.
The attendant, puzzled, said, "Sir, he's inside."
"Please come out, everyone inside. The world is in chaos. I, Li Dan, am just passing through and only wish to rest here. I have no intention of causing any trouble," Laozi shouted.
"Swish," "Swish"—
Several dark figures flashed out one after another, their bodies moving like dragons, each one agile and wielding a weapon, broad-shouldered and burly, exuding a fierce aura.
The servant was horrified at the sight and hid behind Laozi, saying, "Master, I have never seen them before."
"So you're just a scholar preaching the gospel. I thought you two were rich, master and servant, because that little follower was wearing jade-inlaid shoes." The leader of the men in black sneered, his face full of disdain.
Laozi frowned, and after exchanging greetings, he chuckled and explained, "This is my attendant, Xu Jia. The treasure on his shoes was a gift from someone else. I wish to rest here tonight as I wish to spread my teachings throughout the world. But if you gentlemen are interested, would you be willing to listen to my words of enlightenment?"
"Who cares who you are? We brothers only want money. Hand over all your valuables now!" another man in black roared. "Otherwise, we'll kill you all."
"Really not interested?" Laozi frowned, a thoughtful look crossing his face. He waved his hand, signaling his servants to step back.
"Noisy literati! Let's attack!" The leader of the men in black swung his knife at Laozi.
A group of eight people dressed in black, with ruthless methods, frightened Xu Jia into retreating in panic and hiding behind a water vat to watch the battle.
But the next second, Laozi took a step forward, unleashing the aura of a dragon and tiger, and used both fists to forcefully confront the blade, unleashing a series of powerful attacks.
"Bang," "Bang"—
A series of muffled thuds rang out, followed by the wailing of eight men in black.
After a short while, Lao Tzu walked to a stone table to the side, sat down cross-legged on it, and asked, "Now, may I preach to you?"
"I'll listen to your grandpa!"
In the distance, a man in black, his eyes bloodshot, grabbed a large knife from the ground and slashed at the enemy again.
Lao Tzu's figure was ghostly, and his eight-foot-eight-inch height was like that of a swimming dragon. He took two steps and moved sideways.
With a bang, a punch sent the man flying ten feet away, landing in the bamboo forest.
After dealing with that man, Lao Tzu turned to the remaining seven and laughed, "Want to listen?"
The seven men, already bruised and battered, were stunned. They immediately broke out in a cold sweat, glanced at their companions ten feet away, whose fate was unknown, and promptly kowtowed.
"I am eager to receive your teachings, sir. Please do not hesitate to impart your wisdom!"
Lao Tzu nodded with satisfaction and said, "This child is teachable."
far away--
Xu Jia glanced at the seven who had submitted and muttered, "Was this how the master used to preach?"
Several years have passed.
Lao Tzu traveled the world and spread his teachings throughout the land, but he did not widely recruit disciples. Those he chose were always people with exceptional talents.
Xu Jia, a servant, had accompanied Laozi for many years and came with him to Hangu Pass.
Laozi met Yin Xi at Hangu Pass and stayed there for several days because of Yin Xi.
During this time, the attendant Xu Jia also left, and no one knows his whereabouts.
Before Lao Tzu passed away, Yin Xi asked him for advice on how to conduct oneself in society, and the Tao Te Ching was born from this.
He went west out of Hangu Pass, spreading his teachings for thousands of miles, and comprehended the way of humanity.
During this period, Lao Tzu accidentally discovered that the Way of Heaven intended to promote Buddhism and divide the human race's fortune.
Lao Tzu decided to convert the barbarians to Buddhism, and had his disciples establish Mahayana Buddhism, becoming the Buddha.
Heaven wants to promote Buddhism, but it doesn't necessarily have to promote Western Buddhism. Human Buddhism is also Buddhism.
In this way, even if Buddhism flourishes, the fate of the human race will not be divided.
However, after Laozi returned, the Heavenly Dao awakened the Buddha's past life memories through Zhunti's intervention.
This person is the eldest disciple of the Tongtian Sect Master, and the reincarnation of Duobao Daoren.
Zhunti bluntly stated that Laozi's actions led to Tongtian's death, which incited hatred in Duobao Daoren's heart.
Ultimately, Mahayana Buddhism was incorporated into Western religions.
